So has anyone found out anything about this phone yet?
This is the best I have found so far click here.
From the spec's of it. Looks to be as big as an iPhone and almost as thin as an iPhone as well, but includes a slide out keyboard. The resolution is even higher....at 480x800
And good news to people in the US, or for me atleast....looks like this phone will be supportted in the US, even 3G
Here are some screen shots of the phone.

Yeah that's a fingerprint scanner/scroller.
And yes, I believe that is SpB UI on top of Windows 6.1
waw
its the time acer to move on.. with qwerty keyboard tu....
I've found SPB MS to be pretty buggy - pass....
US retailer are starting to sell the M900
I placed an order today for one of them based on specs and the little info that is out there on the web.
For now I am holding on to my ATT Fuze just in case it turns out to be a total fluke. Eten was purchased by Acer and my last Eten I had was sub standard compared to HTC.
If anyone is interested I will post my findings when it arrives here on 6/16/09. Hopping that there will be a large following with many cooks that will stir up awesome roms just like you can find with the HTC phones.
Nice indeed
But Ill stick to HTC made models

I've been running SPB MS3 on an Omnia and now an M900 for around 3 weeks now, not one single crash. You should give it another try.
Nobody seems to have put up any graphical or cpu benchmarks. Haven't seen anything from pocketnow either, whom usually don't believe in such benchmarks anyways ...
I actually just bought the unit from pocketnow.com so hopefully I should be up and running soon with some reviews. The last e-ten phone I owned was the m500 and it couldn't get reception for anything, so hopefully this is better.
I extracted all the cabs from the EXTROM of the build on Acer's site. The AcerShell is like a 30 mb cab by itself! You can download all the cabs from the link below. I installed the AcerShell on my Fuze and it started but it wouldn't completely load. That's probably a good thing anyway.

@Doctajay,
Thanks for this update - I look forward to your review!
Especially the CPU and general speed of the device bit!

Have you guys seen anything like that ?
Or do we have a port for that app to the Wizard.
Youtube video
this would be a really nice app to have.
what do you think ?
I have not seen any port like that, but the guys over at www.pocketcm.com, are developing a new image viewing app, not as refined as the Touch one, but very similar and touchy. I have it installed and is really cool and free.
If you find it good enough consider donating to the author.
Nice app
this is very nice and looks like more features to come.
I was wondering if when the cube was bridged over and the other Touch like features came over was the picture app left on purpose or just no one cared for it ?
Wow it looks just like the iphone app. I guess htc is still trying to look like the iphone. If they release i hope they make it a little more smoother like the iphones.
Wow! Quick, someone hookup a laptop to that Touch and strip that app.
Nice..... looking forward for a rip....

yes there are some people that think that if it cost more, it will be better, even if they don't need all that 'better' stuff...
the scroll interface and this new image interface are some real benefits of the TouchFlo...the cube is just decoration and a bit overloaded...
I've seen this app. before.....

the real benefit for me on a ppc is that there are thousands of programs that give an added value to your device. some really nice software like pocket informant, mobiledb, tv guide, novii remote, igo etc and this touch image viewer...all the ones you seem to hate
they all together make my (old) phone run slowly, but they can make it worth for me...withouth these you could just buy yourself an iphone...

Guys and gals, do read my blog if you want to know the latest news from Barcelona - I've been posting a LOT of articles & shots on both Sony's XPERIA X1, Opera Mobile 9.5, the competition (Nokia, BB etc.), new stuff etc. I can't cross-post them in here or even follow the related thread because my connection is very-very restricted and expensive - sorry for you having to visit another webpage.
That is, don't forget to check out and regularly visit http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ - even without my updating this thread. (Again, sorry, I can't cross-post my stuff and can't even regularly update my announcements.)

i hope their final version will be much better because it was running quite slow even after closing all apps on the poor HTC device it was being demoed on. :/ (there were a few more devices though, that i didn't get to try it on)
otherwise looked nice though options were lacking stuff, definitely an early beta
oh, by the way folks, the SPB stand was more like an SOB stand... no devices, just brochures and plonkers standing around.
Opera had actual devices of course, but Opera ran like a piece 'o' ****.
ok not to sound all negative...
a few things of the many i saw today:
sony ericsson xperia x1 demo, the thing does exist and it has some really slick animation!! hw design was pretty cool as well. the lcd looks great, keyboard i could not try, they didn't hand the device to me.
google android was featured at several semiconductor manufacturers but the real device was on display at TI's stand, looked exactly like the well known prototype! and it had a HTC serial no on it so definitely made by HTC. the GUI is the same we've all seen in the emulator, nothing new. keyb very easy to use one hand even if this is a prototype.
oh TI also had some other prototype device based on the same platform (i mean android), the browser on that thing was zooming in and out in an incredible way and incredibly good rendering of everything... i need to check if there was any specific name for it.
these were based on some OMAP, but they weren't bad speedwise - of course most linux mobile platforms i've tried are a bit slow launching an app, except maybe the motorola ming 1200.
that reminds me, i was shown a nokia N810 (not at 3GSM), the browser on that thing kills everything else regarding speed, in several aspects. (rendering speed, browsing around on the page while it is being loaded, opening links in new tabs etc)
and rendering was quite decent too.
anyway, other than improved browsing experience, there was a lot of demos and devices of rich multimedia experience (basically everyone from samsung to qualcomm), you can expect some serious **** on the market soon.
in any case, lots of promising linux platform demos, it was not all windows mobile after all. symbian didn't have much presence, but here i have to mention something: at their stand, they had the old psion epoc emulator running on a laptop! (if anyone here remembers psion) and a revamped modern version in another emulator, which i'd like to see if it ever gets used.
i remember one more thing right now, intel, some very interesting devices of their new platform, very small, and nice hw design (some LG with a ~4-5" screen and slideout qwerty, for example) but i could not try them.

I disagree with both. SPB Mobile Shell 2.0 was demonstrated by people in the stand on demand. So, I did get a chance to see it in action on HTC Trinity and it looks great, we'll all be installing it in a matter of weeks.

Hey, slightly related to this topic... has it been definitively proven that HTC has officially released a 6.1 ROM?
As far as I know the 6.1 HTC Roms that were posted (original/updated) are not actually official ones... is that correct?
AT&T 6.1 Rom
As always AT&T hears their customers and strives to bring the latest roms they can get their hands on for their WM devices. So when Microsoft anounces
the release date of WM 7.0 AT&T should be ready to release 6.1 , It is a small lag time. But they (AT&T) need the extra time to load the "BLOAT" I mean "GREAT PROGRAMS" they know we all are waiting for.
Pie souds great and with some milk will be better
Is 6.1 for the Tilt getting near?
The 1.62.502.0 official ROM is no longer available on the HTC website.

Are there any plans for this from HTC?
Will we be able to upgrade the rom?
Probably not from HTC.. but thats what XDA is for!
Once people start buying the Maple in the U.S. (its going to be on practically every carrier) then you won't have to worry about HTC's ROM updates.
I'm sure someone will cook up a great ROM for the Maple once the device becomes popular- and it will.
maybe u can help us find a stock rom.
i already sent out the word to NRZ..he's gonna look into it

You never know. When the original Dash came out we got an official upgrade from WinMo 5 to 6 a few months later. Maybe they will do the same for the Dash 3G from 6.1 to 6.5. Talking about the T-Mobile versions of course.

I have an actual HTC Rep through my Sprint Sales rep here in the US. We'll name him DP. I have access to HTCChampions.com and have yet to find any indication of this, i've requested the information from DP himself, and hope to hear back soon.
*Edit:
I just received a call, he said the only phone slatted for the Windows Mobile 6.5 Upgrade that he's aware of is the TouchPro2. Truthfully it sounded like he didn't know himself, he stated that the version of Windows 6.5 only brought a second browser (Opera) to avoid the "Anti-Trust" issues Micro$oft has been facing. He said that he has spoke to Sprint Corp and they've decided to hold of till Windows 7 before making any large changes.
PS, he called back with the information, and i was unable to get it recorded
Believe what you will, but between the HTC Site and his comments the only versions of 6.5 will be those that are cooked here.

Yeah i know, people have been asking this for a long time now. But the thing is, if they wanted Android, i wonder why did they buy a HD2 in first place? haha
I, too, came from android, but I wanted to try winmo that's why i went with Hd2 instead of nexus one. Although i miss android, I don't think the Hd2 needs Android. I love it so far. just hoped sling player worked on it. otherwise, phone is great.
to the OP:
i would suggest looking into evo or something else, if u want android man. Don't hope everything can be ported these days. Porting a mobile OS is a pain in the you know what. And these devs who doesn't get paid to port, won't port it unless they really want to sacrifice precious time of their lives.

Its cause when I suggest HD2 being great hardware but the software is crap people just believe the hype... In my store we reset the phones at least 2 a week because it crashes...
ive buyed hd2 because of the good hardware. but i thik android its better than WM 6.5.
thanks
It's quite obvious that this thread is useless and against the rules.
To answer your question:
There is no Android available at all for the HD2 at this moment.
Please refer to the thread; remember to only post when necessary.
Next time, please make use of the Q&A section to get your question answered, and make sure to search first before asking.

I don't think the software is crap! lol...the only thing I hate about the window mo, is that there are not enough software for the phone!! and all the new stuff that is coming out is either for android or iphone.
android
I have tilt 2 i flashitand put a romnow iintalled android the volme dont work nor the ringer or camera cananyone help i do great donnations
Android vs WM6.5 HD2
I will agree with everyone that Android Market vs WM Market has more free Apps. I will love to see more developers create apps for WM or create a cooked room for HD2 with The android App
hey if u really want android on your HD2 i would sell that HD2 to the highest bidder and switch to Sprint and buy the amazing EVO
