Guys, I'm trying to downgrade my G1 from RC33 to RC29 using DREAIMG.NBH. But everytime I enter the bootloader, it tells me "no Image File".
I tried naming the file with "DREAIMG.NBH", "DreaIMG.nbh" and "DREAIMG.nbh", but none of them works.
Anybody could tell me what's wrong?
Thanks a lot.
the name is DREAIMG.NBH did you remove it from the zip file or are you renameing the zip.the nbh. is in the zip file add it to the sd card you may need to reformat your card fat32
I think this post may help.

I extracted the zip and copy only the DREAIMG.NBH file to sd card. is that right?
btw, regarding the reformating, I did it under vista. there is no option for FAT32, but only FAT. I chose it and "Default Allocation Size" option. I wonder whether that means I've already got FAT32.
Thx a lot.

I think I was following these instructions exactly. Just that after step 4, it tells me that "no Image File", and stops there. Don't know why..
Thx
I seen that post but you dont need to rename it cause i did it to my wifes phone and i just got my new phone in the mail two days ago and it was doing the same thing no image found i used another image on mod mygphone never renamed it and it worked.
Link: http://modmygphone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10371
i got my image from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480 and removed the nbh. added the nbh to the sd card worked for me like manup said try a new image
Even bigger problem~ update fail~

The 'No Image File" problem solved. The problem turned out to be that vista formating only results in FAT16. I did it again under XP and got FAT32. Now image can be found....
But even bigger problem happens.
"UPDATE FAIL"...... now I cannot even mount the sd card to try a new image. I'm out of US, and bought G1 from ebay, so it's impossible to go back to T1 for re-flashing.... Anybody knows how I can mount to sdcard?

try another computer, your card has to be in FAT32.... I think it would have given you the option (format sd to fat32) regardless if your card is presently FAT32 or not.... My guess its not.
GL, hope you have already resolved your issue.
Im on vista and i get the fat32 option,im not sure what you did but the image inside the zip thats in that link.I know that works your computer doesnt have a card slot?

HI.. m Oicnev.. this is regarding extracting the files from the EXE rom.. have download both the 131 and 132 (a later version, as told), but couldn't extract the files.
Have tried using winrar and winzip, but to no avail.. tried right-clicking, but no option to extract, only add to archive.. tried accessing from within winrar. there was the option to extract, but it always returned, no archive file/s in there..
tried running the EXE rom, it ran, posted extracting files, and the showed its dialog box.. then, as told, it returned an error in the end..
i used netants as downloader..
is there anything i further need to do to be able to extract the files? Is there any other way i could get the files? PLS HELP!!!
ALSO, i bought a 4gig SD Card.. the problem is my xda mini couldn't access it, unless, as it prompted, it formats it "to make it readable." This i did, and yes it became readable, but it got converted to 2.1gig. i returned it to the seller, had it replaced, thank goodness the seller was kind.. but now, i don't know what to do.. the SD Card is accessible as 4gig from my card reader though... will the rom upgrade fix the problem? Is there any other software that i need to have? PLS HELP!!!
MANY MANY THANKS, in advance!
You used one of the ROMs from this site's FTP right? I've tried several and all of them extract just fine! If you're looking for the latest ROM that is used widely without any problems, 1.13 T-Mobile ROM, that can be found here.
From there you can use kta's + ampda's guides or my own guide to run you through the upgrade process!
Thanks... only that... Stil problem - 4gig SD Card vs. Mini
Ey, know what, i finally solved my puzzle re EXE ROM.. have managed to extract the files... i tried running the EXE file, clicking next til the last one before it would start to upgrade, but without clicking it (i read from one of your guides).. then i searched for the files in my hidden windows temp folders... found them.. and ran the upgrade.. It went perfectly, i liked it..
But my BIG other problem remained.. still, my XDA Mini couldn't access my 4gig SD Card, despite all the upgrades.. it was still prompting me to format it (beccause it couldn't read it), which must not be done, coz it will convert it to 2.1gig.
I read in one forum to try partitioning the SD Card into two 2gig partitions.. i found it sound.. i followed the instructions.. i ran "compmgmt.msc" from my pc through "start/run".. I was trying to make the first step of deleting the partition through 'Disk Management', but to no avail.. Yes, there was a 'delete partition' option shown in the menus, but unlit; meaning option not available.. So, i was already stalled, couldn't proceed anymore...
Anyone with more options out there? please help...
Many thanks
Your device formatted the memory card as FAT16. This is only supported up to 2 GB:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_Allocation_Table#Final_FAT16
Just format the memory card with your card reader as "FAT32" and you will have 4 GB capacity.
RE FAT16
Hi... i checked through my card reader.. its in fat32 format...
@esackbauer,
are you sure the fat16 fat32 topic is the answer to the problems with 4 gig cards? to mee, it doesnt seem so!

Hi,
I'm trying to root the wifes new G1.
Now I've done this before with my own and now my HTC Hero.
However when I hit power and camera I get a quick message saying 'no image file' before it goes to the rainbow screen??
I have the Dreamg.nbh on the SDcard.
I tried to root using the flashrec.apk but when I type 'SU' in terminal it says permission denied, so I'm thinking it hasn't worked, however it did install Cyanogens recovery.
Confused on how to flash the Dreamg.nbh as I can't get into bootloader.
Has the process changed for cupcake builds?
Make sure you format the SD card as FAT32
The cards normally come as FAT and when you format the default option is to format as FAT, you just need to tell what ever you use to format the card with to format as FAT32 or you will get the no image error.
I did, HOWEVER I have partitioned it in advance as EXT3 and Linux swap in preparation, could that be the issue?

Wow... happened to have the same issue being that I bought my wife a G1 today! Solved my problem... whew, this question was right on time!
That was it!!!
DON'T partition your card to save time, it costs you more...
Thanks guys.
Format my sdcard but the same files comes up after re mounting the card to pc.
+try to copy files to it and un mount frm pc but after re mounting again they are lost.
i tried to format it with
1 windows disk manager
2 Sd Card Formatter
3 CMD
4 mini tool partition
But after i re mount sdcard to pc or phn those files appear again.
P.s tried to scan with Kaspersky virus removal tool and with microsoft security essential but no virus found.
Any help?
Whats the file?!?! Maybe it is a default system file that is required for it to work!

Instead of formatting, you can try wiping the entire disk (in mini tool partition you get 5 different ways for wiping a disk). Theoretically every bit of data is gone afterwards

Sounds like they are system files that the phone automaticly copies to your sd card when it is remounted, if this is so, then it is normal, if this is not the case then try a different sd card.
If you change the File System then all files should be gone too
Boot up a Linux distro, pop in the SD card, and run "sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/((YOUR_SDCARD))" in a terminal, where ((YOUR_SDCARD)) is the name of the device file representing your SD card (make sure that you know for sure that the "of=" parameter is pointing to your SD card's device file; "sda" is often not an SD card, but is actually your first SATA hard drive).
Assuming you got the right device file as the output file, your SD card should now contain nothing but binary zeros. You can also create a text file with a witty message and write that (change the "if" parameter to "if=/path/to/your/file".
Godspeed.

this method sounds for nerdy, i might wipe my c: or d: or might brick my sd card, any other simple solution?
also thanks for your help.
Appreciated.
try formatting it on android on the SD card , that might help
SDFormatter 3.1 View attachment sdfmt3_1.zip
Did you try FULL format not QUICK? It will remove bad sectors from SD Card.
I've a P6800 with a SanDisk Ultra 32GB SD card.
Running android 4.0.4, build IMM76D.XXLQ2, NOT Rooted.
I'm unable to write to the SD card at all, not even with the stock file manager or other free file managers in the market.
Unable to copy files to the SDCard using data cable as well, copying to device memory works fine.
Only error I see is "Write operation failed" or something similar. Very little detail.
SDCard is formatted as FAT32, and I can write to it using a memory card reader.
Certain threads speaks of adding a new line in 'platform.xml' file, to add group 'media_rw' group for WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, but I have that group already in the platform.xml.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414214&page=3
Any idea on how to solve this?
your sdcard might be damage... do you have any other sd to test...

No Sir, I don't have a micro SD card. If it's damaged, would it be possible for me to write to it using a card reader?
be casual... just dont call me sir... XD hahaha
one of my card acting like that until i reformat it. save the files to your pc and reformat the card. dont do the quick format in windows... just try the normal format option.

How did you edit that file if you are not rooted. It has likely not updated. Check it! Also make sure there are no typing errors.
Make sure your system is in RW mode so the changes are saved. Let us know your outcome.
Cheers

Hi thanks for your reply..
I already tried it with nĂ´ success....
More details please. What version of TWRP? MicroSD card or full size card in the dock? What's the filesystem on the card? What exactly did you "try with no success"?

That TWRP version is very old... but should be good enough for wiping.
How did you try to find the file "on sd card location"? Using "Select storage?" Or did you mount using the mount page? In which directory did you look? external_sd or whatever it's called?

Which folder did you put them into on the card?
My guess is that they are in that folder
Which rom.zip files btw?
Well... I try to developp a little bit more to get some help.
I installed in my micro SD formatted in EX FAT format and in the SD card formatted in FAT32 format the two zip files dowloaded here:
Download CM11.0
Download GAPPS
They are installed at the root of both cards, there is no other files or folder in it.
I start in TWRP and then click install icon and look for these files everywhere and found nothing.
When I cick to mount icon, I cannot mount the micro SD or the SD cards.
Could you help me?
Is it possible to install another version of TWRP if the system does'nt start anymore?
