Hello,sorry I'm not too expert, but I've tried to upgrade my qtek 2020 from windows mobile 2003 to WM5 following instructions that i've found on this site, but I've got a big problem. When himaupgradeut_noID start after some minutes it gives me the following message: Error 101: connection error.
My qtek 2020 remain with the Serial (when it is out of the cradle) or -- USB (when it is on the cradle) black screen (v 1.06) and nothing happens... I've tried to reset it pressing the power and reset button but it remains on the same black screen!!
Please help me what could be the problem? What should I do? It seems to be a communication problem with the usb but before starting the upgrade Active sync was running ...

Hello, i have an imate ppc (the phone edition),,,i cant find an upgarde for my ppc,,, can anybobody help me pls...i tried the upgrade for xdaII that i got from this site.... but it does not work when i installed it ,,,,i would appreciate it if somebody could give me a guide to where to find the upgrade download for my ppc...the only program that work for my ppc is the pointui home,,,,,i also tried to install a phone pad,,,and it didnt work as well....it is sometimes difficult to do a text msg,,,,with the keybord... specially if i am on my way to work,,,,
please help me to upgrade my imate phone edition,,,,

I have the same problem with my T Mobile MDA Compact. My Compact does not work anymore, too. When I try to turn it on, it does not. It turns on the Bootloader mode. On the screen; at the top it writes "Serial" and at the bottom it writes "v 1.00" and thats all, it does not turn on anymore.
It occurs when I tried to flash my German ROM to English ROM.
Once I solve the problem I will inform you. Please inform me if you solve the problem.

Hi Guys. I have absolutely the same problem see http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=19548 here. Try one thing. It´s not solution, but for me working as emergency solution. Try to pull a little bit back battery cover to disconnect battery for a second and then push it back. Try to push on/off button. Device should start. And never do a soft reset by soft reset button or by software reset button. Always use back side cover or the device start in bootloader meno again.I alread try almost everything to solve the problem and no way. Even my compact cant read backuped SD card. That´s why I have only this emergency solution
I don't have this problem myself, but I read on this forum somewhere that connecting your Compact to to USB cable and running the update program again should fix this error. The error bascially means that the ROM upgrade failed. re-connecting and re-running the upgrade program from your desktop pc should work. Good Luck and let us know whether it works. In several other threads the problem is mentioned and fixed, so do a search.

When you see that "serial" and "v1.00" thing. That's means you are half way there already. That's in boot loader mode. When you take off the back cover (battery cover) and put that back, yeap... it'll work. Somehow that bypass the bootloader mode for that particular "restart".
What you need to do is. Just reconnect back and do the flash again, since you would have rebooted your desktop pc or laptop (the one that used to flash your Magician).
For those who encountered similar problem, restart your machine (desktop pc or laptop). then reconnect back. Try run the update again. This time, it will not be able to detect your current ROM version cause of the "boot loader" thingy. Just flash it... yes, you'll get it. Give it a try. I've done on mine and so do many others. Have fun.

I had the same problem. My desktop computer shut off during the update and the second time it stoped in the same %.
I solved the problem switching computers to my laptop.

I' am trying to put another rom on my MDA, but i get no message on the screen from what version to the new version after it get the information from the device.
It's complete blanc it's show nothing on what radio and rom en also the new rom what it's radio and rom.
All this after i run the Maupgradeut-noID.

First, you must connect to desktop using ActiveSync, than start Maupgradeut-noID.

Maybe I was not explain my problem clearly.
With this picture maybe it makes it more claerly.
After I run MaupgradeUt-NoID I get this screen which it's shown
nothing about which rom version.
And then when I do the upgrade button I get the screen with
"waith untill... and do not disconnect..." this screen stays.
Please somebody help me, I am desperatly.

The same happens to me with my new MDA compact II.
I think it is something to with the windows mobile 2005. you will be aware that this device is different from the classic Magician.
Tell me if this is your problem as well.

help... i downloaded smart1's (normal, not clean) update, and launched UPGRADE_ROM.DAT from PC... it said initializing and everything... and then it reached to "copying something.dll' ... i waited 10 minutes or so then i got something like:
"error cant copy ....... because connection closed from remote... something like that."
i did NOT touch the imate during the process
and now when i turn on my imate i get the HTC with white background for a second but then it freezes on the blue "i-mate" screen... displaying:

when i connect it to pc, windows does recognise and install my device but ActiveSync doesnt connect.
i tried removing the battery then putting it back in then pressing and holding the conn. button along with the power button and i DO get to the bootloader screen (with three colors) and then when i plug in the usb i get a small 'usb' word at the bottom of the screen, but still, ActiveSync doesnt connect... i tried installing the update again... but the program doesnt find my device
how can i make it work again ??? plz help me

Just BEWARE that the rom you download is for your phone, it will be for a G3 or a G4, if you get it wrong, your phone is DEAD.

Same problem for me, but I solved today:
I connected the phone to pc in bootloader mode, the pc see the phone and says ppc usb sync, but the activesync not started.
I tried to install a qtek official rom by dangaard (you can find it here: http://www.megaupload.com/it/?d=4ELWL078 ) and I solded the problem !

I had same problem but in my case with downgrade from WM6 to ASERG rom, i have downloaded RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID.exe and that fixed my problem.

I wonder if you can help. I have trawled this and many other forums and found many people that are having problems with their HTC Prophet or variations of the same device.
I have the Orange SPV M600, it was in my pocket and when I took it out to turn it on, it was displaying the bootloader screen after seemingly soft resetting itself. It is displaying the tri-colour bootloader with the following IPL/SPL
- IPL 2.10.0001 - SPL 2.10.0001
I have tried the following things that I have found in the forums:
1. Taking the battery out for 10 minutes ~ Still the same.
2. Hard Reset ~ I get the "Press SEND button to factory restore" message
but nothing happens when I push the call button.
3. Reflashing the ROM ~ I am unable to do this. I only have Vista and
WMDC does not see the phone in bootloader mode.
Is the phone dead? If so how could this have happened?
If anyone could help I would be eternally greatful. Oh and to add another complication the phone is still CID Locked

well if you where is south africa i would of helped you im sure if you have it runing on xp it will work my jamin did the same and all i did was push the camera button and reseted it got into tri colour mode and reflashed it

If I was closer you could have sent the phone to me and I would have had a go at reflashing the rom, but I'm at the other end of the country....

First of all, download the NVID (no vender) AKU2.2 from here. http://rapidshare.com/files/17208693/RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID.exe
Then, open activesync, select connection settings and UNCHECK the connect through USB option.
Then run the NVID file. It will take a while, and may seem to get stuck at 80% or 95%. Just leave it alone.
When that's done, you can either use it as it is, or load anyother ROM you want.

First get a version of ActiveSync, any will do, but more recent is probably better. Then download the ROM (see above). In ActiveSync>Connection Settings uncheck the Connect through USB option. Then connect the Prophet.
Next Unzip the NVID file, and run RUU_PROPHET... This will flash your Prophet with a very basic ROM. If you then want to upgrade to a different ROM follow these steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310452
Hi Everybody. This is my first post here
I own an HTC Touch (Vogue) from Orange (Spain) and I would like to install WM 6.1 on it. Orange does not provide with WM 6.1 and I found on the internet that there is a Sprint version of it, so I decided to install it. I get "Error 270" it says the image is corrupt. I tried to make an splxploit-windows and nothing happens... I took a screenshot (attached file) of what I get... and it stays there. Nothing happens at all.
I tried to install other versions also... HTC Magician and others just to see what happens and always I get "Error 270". The only one I could install successfuly is the Orange Rom
I tried everything and can´t find a solution. Any help there please?

PD: I am using Windows XP, ActiveSync 4.5 and in SPLXPLOIT-WINDOWS I am following this steps (I get stuck in step 4)
1) manually start in bootloader mode
2) disable USB in activeSync
3) check 'usb' appears at the bottom of the tricolor screen and that he device is recognized by XP. If not, try unplugging/repluging
4) run the corrected unbrick.bat
5) while still in (new) tricolor screen after loader update, upload a new ROM
Any ideas?
