How to make Atom Pure play wm9 encoded video?
I have a number of .wmv video files which are encoded by wm9 codec.
I cannot use the built-in Media Player or CorePlayer to play them.
How can I play these video?
By install wm9 codec? Where can I find it?
Use other software player?

TCPMP (included in WM5-PDAMobiz_Wizard_Crossbow_AKU3.3_v.3311) play all type of files without problems-wmv,mpg,avi etc.
TCPMP (WM6-PDAMobiz_Wizard_WM6_G3_V.5_by_Hong) play only avi.
Such as wmv - Audio Codec WMA not supported by the player/Video codec WMV not supported by the player
I try install new TCPMP with 19 codecs without good results. Only ffmpeg codec play video wmv but without audio. WM5 don't need ffmpeg codec to play wmv.
What's wrong?

Tcpmp 0.81rc
Search for tcpmp release 0.81 - then you will have all codecs.
Upload does not function. So you will have to search. Sorry.

I also had this problem
Search the forum. On WM6, the wmv codecs are named different from the WM5, and TCMP doesn't find them, obviously. I can't remember the link, but there are 2 files that you should copy into windows directory
That should do the trick
Greetings,
Edit:
Hey that is in chinese version, can somebody post english version.
Greetings,
Here is the english version.
Thanks
Here are all languages
Just delete the .zip and the copie the file languages.tgz in the tcpmp folder on your device. Then you can chose every language.
I posted a fix for this a couple of weeks ago...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298126
It's because WM6 uses a different WMV decoder and a differently named WMA decoder. So, all you have to do is put the WM5 wmv and wma encoders into the windows directory and reinstall tcpmp. The codecs are in the post.

My Samsung i760 use to natively play 3gp files under WM6 and WMP. However, once I moved to WM6.1(official from Samsung) the files don't work in WMP any more. TCPMP plays the files, but only video not audio citing audio codec qualcomm qcelp not supported by the player. So I decided to install these plugins for wmp http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366471 and it not work. Un-installing didn't fix it either. Is there any way to get it working like installed the WMP 6 codec and dll or something?
btw my phone takes video in 3gp so I need it for playback. thank you.
someone please?
bump please?
Is it possible to play CBT videos on PPC without re-encoding them. They are in wmv file. "COrePlayer says video codec (wmp9 screeen) not supported" and i am just geting the audio.
I have a bunch of mkv's I decoded myself from some dvd's using a free software for windows, but when I play them with mx player on the note 10.1 I can only use sw and not hw.
Anyone who knows what the problem may be?
No, but I have the same experience. Many video's need SW b/c HW will either not play, or produce audio mismatch.
I use hw for video and sw for audio... Works fine but doe go out of sync when just using hw...
Why do you convert dvds to mkv ?
You can convert them to mp4 or avi with ac3 audio.
The files are smaller and the video quality is the same.

cos it's an easy software and process: put in the dvd, select language and subtitle, click convert and in a few minutes I get the movie ripped to an mkv file.
