Question: System Notifications softkey, in Manila 2D? - General Questions and Answers

Hi all!
How can I remove/disable Manila2D softkeys in Home Tab? I dont want them, because they are static!
I want my softkeys to baheave like WM: left softkey changes form Calendar (or other) to Notification (when I recieve a sms, email, etc).
Is this possible? Thanks in advanced

it ever been discussed on Manilla 2D HomeSettings thread on D&H Section
good luck

oops, sorry..i gave u wrong thread T_T
check it here or here

Humm... Maybe I havent been clear!
I dont want to change Manila softkeys. I want them to disappear (only in Home Tab), in order to use the WM defaults!
And why is that? Because WM softkeys change when a System Notification arrives (i.e., the softkey displays Notification until I press it), and Manila softkeys are always static. If I point them to Calendar.exe, it will always display Calendar, even if I receive a sms, call, etc.
Edit: I have already tried to leave those reg values blank, but it doesnt work!

You know how to remove softkeys?

Reset Touch FLO 3D Soft Keys for Notifications, Alarms, & Reminders
I am so glad to see this thread, as I have searched thoroughly trying to find an answer to this issue.
How can I Reset the TouchFLO 3D LSK (Left Soft Key) to be soft (dynamic) not static. For example, HTC Touch FLO forces the LSK to statically display "Phone" -- instead of the normal Win Mobile: "Notification" or "Reminder" or "Alarm".
I am skinning my Taskbar with WisBar, and as such do not get the little 'alarm' icon -- but even if I weren't using WisBar, I don't want to rely upon that tiny little icon for my notifications.
I had even considered assigning the LSK to bring up HTC TouchFlo 3D's 'System Status Screen' -- which would at least help, but I haven't been able to figure out how to map the LSK to the SSS.

Does anybody know how to do this? Change Manilla's LSK to System Notification?

I did get it working, sort of. Please see this thread:

Disabling Touch FLO

Any1 know how to completely disable (i dont want it in memory too) Touch FLO?
Hey...
Try this:
\\\REGISTRY\HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings\
EnableCube = 0 (original = 1)
It worked on my MDA Touch and i know it worked on some Orbit 2 too....
Tweaking instead of On/Off
The Polaris also has a number of other registry entries under TFLOSettings that, in addition to allowing you to turn Touch FLO on or off, also enable you to tweak its sensitivity. Does anyone know if these settings documented somewhere? I've done a search and found bits and pieces of information but not all the information in one place. Thanks.
WHY, oh why?

I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351082 under Tips & Tricks (post #6) from the Nike forum but it works on the Polaris. I changed the Touch Flo settings on both my Nike and Polaris from 15 to 50 and now it's much faster. Hope this helps, let me know.

I like TFLO. However, certain apps like PhatPad which I use don't behave well with it. So I would like to exclude certain apps from TFLO. I could do this with fTouchFlo by editing a config file. However, I don't know how to do this with TFLO and a search didn't find anything. Anyone help would be appreciated.

Good for you. To each his own.
I DON'T like it.
I want to use stylus or buttons only. I don't give a damn about finger functions on the screen.
Let people do what they want. Help them if you are interested and you can, but no need to denigrate them.
Don't take this as a flame - no offense intended - I just recognize that whatever feature exists for any mechanical device, some will love it, some will be indifferent, some will hate it.

I am not sure that is possible. Your best best is to make the PhatPad developers aware of whatever issues you are having so a possible fix can be applied to future versions of the app.
I want also disable TouchFlo and replace it with the 4 cube version SCLPF
Hello, I have my polaris for a week now.
But I have the oppsite problem. My TFLO is disabled, but I don't know why!
I dont have my Polaris in landscape mode, so it should work.
I don't have any strange programms installed.
Can anyone help me with this?
TFLO has reg settings to disable for certain apps. Eg there's one for photo album there.
Is there anyway I can benefit from TouchFlo and some of the SPB softwares (like phone suite, Spb diary, mobile shell etc.) both?
I would like to see multiple appointments on my today screen and also the task list by categories which is very important.
Moreover, I have found that the sound stuff doesnt work properly on any of these roms available here unless i use mobile shell which really keeps phone silent only when i have a calender item that marks me busy. TouchFlo sound option keeps the phone silent eventhough someone's birthday is there on the calendar or even if my out of office event is there on calendar..
when i killed twice manilla2d.exe all that absolutly useless (for me and maybe some other users) stuff as panel in the bottom and large alarm clock which makes my device stupid disappeared. now there is clean screen with wallpaper. very nice, i like it but there is string "tap here to launch touchflo tm". is it possible to disable manilla2d.exe startup on every boot and this start link on the screen? (via system registry file?)
so when it is completely disabled it would be perfect to have some tiny alternative as clock in system tray or on the screen. and one more useful possible function is smth like custom desktop shortcuts.
do you now such software programs?
htc touch elf, wm 6.1

My bad. Thats a ROMeOS exclusive thing .
Sounds like you are using WM6.5.
The CHome homescreen takes over the softkey assignments the same way TouchFlo3D does. In order to change the Left and Right Softkey, you'll have to make the change manually in the registry or from a CHome Titanium Customizer.
The registry setting is easy if you know the link url to the file you want
Go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\CClock\
Find the Strings "SK2TEXT" and "SK2URL". The SK2TEXT is the name the button will display, and the URL is the link.
If you're wondering, in the main CHome Key (folder) you'll find the SK1TEXT and SK1URL which is the Left SoftKey; although I would leave contacts up there.
he said hes using tf3d2. he didnt say he was using chome.
Thanks for that! I found it in the registry.. the only thing is.. how do i create a URL for the program that i want to run when i click that softkey?

Remapping softkeys in TouchFlo 3D

Apologies if there's already a thread about this; it seems like there should be, but I couldn't find one.
Anyway: I recently upgraded from a Kaiser to a Touch Pro (AT&T branded Fuze), and while I like the TouchFlow 3D interface in general, I'd like to remap some of the softkeys do do different things.
For example, I use O3Touch as a contact manager (http://www.o3touch.com/screenshots.html), so I'd like to have the "contacts" softkey on the home page, and the "all people" softkey on the people tab to point to that instead of to the default contact manager. I never use the calendar, so I want to use the "calendar" softkey on the home tab for something else.
I can't find any obvious config files, reg settings or apps that can remap softkeys within the TouchFlo interface. Can anyone help?
download and install total commander and navigate to \\Plugins\registry\HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila and change HomeLSKPath, HomeLSKText, HomeRSKPath, and HomeRSKText to what you want. You can only change the softkeys on the home tab though.
Thanks!
That does exactly what I want.

Can someone here tell me what is the app name for the Contacts application, I want to put the shortcut as one of the home screen softkeys but couldn't find it.
I searched \windows folder but it's not there. Thanks.

\Windows\Contacts.lnk
noob
Sorry to ask here, can't find with search.
Is there a possibility to remap right softkey in order to turn on/off wlan.
It would be useful.
Maybe just putting the link to "Windows/Comm manager" or something more
direct?
EDIT:
No problem I found solution

Set "alarm" to right softkey

Hi guys, i'd realy like to know which path leads to the "alarm" menu (the right slider in the clock menu, which you can access through tipping on the clock on homescreen (manila 2.1, wm 6.5).
I need the filepath, to set it up on the right softkey on manila homescreen.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks...
Sascha
P.S.: I don't need instructions how to edit the softkeys, i know how to proceed in the registry.

\Windows\Clock.exe will get you to the same screen as when you click on the clock but not sure how to default to Alarm tab.
All right, thanks so far for this hint, but it actually gets me to the "windows" clock settings - due to the nice look of manila / sense / tf3d (whatever), i would prefere to get to the manila style clock settings (alarm settings).
Anybody else an idea?

I don't think it can be done because manila uses a series of Mode9 files for one CPL, so there are multiple files for that function.
Another option would be an external program like G-Alarm.
Okay... that's why nowhere else on the net I found an answer...
Thank you though...
Feature Settings
If it's a *.cpl file it's accessible! See my post and within it several links to more information about accessing Feature Settings via *.LNK files...
In the xda wiki there's a link for the Windows Alarms.

It just needs some more investigation <g>

As Sascha stated, "i would prefere to get to the manila style clock settings (alarm settings)." not the windows CPL, which as I stated can be achieved by linking to Clock.exe
You can't link the Manila Alarm UI to a softkey.
Nice tutorial though.

How to get rid of the topbar clock (WM 6.5.x)

sorry to bother you all, the question maybe looks stupid, but I haven't found an answer anywhere.
I'd like not to install cabs or stuff like that......... I'm quite sure that it might be done tricking some regkeys, is anybody aware about it?
Thanks
Was looking for that answer too, because we already have the big clock of manilla so there's no use of having the clock in the topbar. Don't know how to do it also.
there use to be an option to turn it off when i had my old omnia but cant find that these days
was thinkin about that 4 weeks now.. what u can do is 2 use the battclock programm and place something diffrent over it , thats what im doing @ the moment hope someone is bringing a cab 4 it soon ..
Any hint?
i believe hdtweak program would allow you to do that. not sure if it would work with this device.
Hello,
In WM 6.5.x I don't know, but in 6.5, in settings, all setings, Clock & Alarms, More, there is a choice to display or not the clock. Hope it helps !
No sir, with WM 6.5.x you don't hve any chance to change the toolbar. I've been messing round for hours in these forums without getting anything...... I'm quite sure it can be modifed only via regkeys........ who knows???
It utterly, absolutely and definitively cannot be disabled in 6.5.x ROMs at this time. I'm genuinely surprised you haven't found this while searching as it has been answered many times before.
Setting -> All Setting -> Clock & Alarms.
'More' tab Untick the 'Display the clock on the title bar in all programs'
That worked fine on my stock 1.66 WWE ROM.
just use battclock then , u can even put a blank colored space over it ..or an image2match ur taskbar ...

I suspect you don't have a 6.5.x ROM then. The 6.5.x series have the Start Menu button at the bottom, rather than the top.

Sorry sir, I don't want to stir things up, but I think what you're saying isn't true
Have you ever wondered why some cooked topbars (showing either colored icons or different types of them) don't show the clock sometimes?
This is likely to mean that topbar clock is a customizable feature, isn't it?
Nothing is absolutely impossible, no wonder some cooks did it.
Cheers
