Must disable/remove Opera from my Fuze - General Topics

*%@#&%**!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve about had it with this POS, and it’s literally minutes from being returned for the following reasons:
G Sensor: Is the device supposed to reorient between portrait and landscape when it is rotated? The only place mine seems to be working is when using the Opera Browser. In other words, if I am viewing the today screen, should the device reorient when it is rotated 90°? It does reorient correctly when I open the keyboard.
Opera Browser: My device came with both the Opera and IE browsers installed. The Opera browser is obviously the default browser on this device.
The Opera browser is incompatible with some of my third-party software applications (Skyguide, Pocket Earth, and Pocket World). I either need to be able to select IE as my default browser or remove the Opera browser. Failing either of these, this thing must go back.
Thanks,
Dave

Whats the best browser for ppc

I've been using opera on the htc diamond but I notice that it just keeps crashing when I try to go onto some sites like logmein. I use to be able to go on most of these sites if memory serves when I was using my vario2, but I can't remember what browser I was using.
In my experience Opera mobile is the best I ever used, and works perfect on my Uni
Opera Mini!
Opera Mini 4.2. Opera Mobile cannot hold a candle to this one - yeah the Mini is server-side cached, etc. but doesnt matter because the render fidelity is pretty good for almost 90% of the browsing experience.
SUPER FAST !!! SPEED SPEED SPEED!
Another vote for opera mini here. I do 99% of my mobile browsing on it. It may be a bit limited feature-wise, but for simple navigation and viewing there is nothing faster.
Check out Shiranmotha's all-in-one cab installer.
For me Opera Mini is the best browser for ppc.
skyfire is pretty decent
I actually use both Opera and Skyfire. Opera still has some bugs on some websites. But i mostly use Opera because of how fast it is Skyfire takes too long to load a website.
Just installed opera mini but is it just me or does it allow you to zoom in when using the htc diamond circle button?

best web browser?

What's the best web browser for HTC touch pro? Unlocked with a customer ROM on it, but it just came with I.E. I really liked the opera mobile browser previously on the phone, but I wanted some input. If opera is the best, where is the best/newest/fastest version of opera mobile avaliable?
on experience Opera mobile 9.5 or 9.7 is the best browser
check the official thread here:

opera mini is my favorate...
The new Opera Mini 5 beta looks pretty awesome.
Definately Opera Mini 5. For sites that use AJAX and other script-heavy technologies, Opera Mobile 9.5 (or 9.7, test it first on the device as its buggy).
In my experience, best is Opera 9.5 as provided with a lot of current (cooked) ROM's. Fastest is Opera 9.7 with Turbo enabled. This is being shipped with some of the newest ROMs (Tom Rhodium Manila 2.5 Build 23016 v1.0 for example).
Of course is Opera Mini. It's the most popular mobile phone web browser in the world. I use it on my diamond 2. It's awesome! And it's my favorite.
With Flash support IExplorer
Without Flash support Opera (mini v5 beta/mobile 9.7 beta), iris Browser v1.19 (but I don't know if it's free too)
Skyfire is only QVGA and NetFront is outclassed by previous browsers
D'rath
Opera Mobile if you use a lot of Touch Screen and turn off the G-Sensor stuff that automatically orients screen (which seems to do it at the least random movement sometimes).
I personally prefer Opera Mini only because it's more kb shortcut friendly (as opposed to touch my screen I like using the kb for quick favorites and other functions)
UCWEB is best for me, faster than Opera... Skyfire if you want to browse YouTube.

OPERA HD2 and Youtube

Hi to all
I bought HTC HD2 two days ago and i don.t know why i Can not watch movies from youtube using the opera.???Is that possible.?
use the youtube application in start/youtube
opera 9.7 does not support flash the way it should but they say opera 10 will
If you want a browser with full flash support (YouTube and everything), get Skyfire.
It's not better than Opera overall, but it's nice to have different options that cater to different needs.
in hd opera when a you tube link was clicked you tube application used to get autolaunch ...
but this never happens in opera of hd2 ..........
but in internet explorer you tube link open in you tube application ............
so any work around for opera of hd2 to launch you tube application when you tube link is clicked ..
Youtube works in Opera and it is fully functional (plays in the broser, with full screen and zoom function), you just need to activate it with a patch:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544770
Also allows to play videos from other Flash-enabled web sites.
I don't recommend Skyfire unless you are in the US.
Skyfire uses servers to give you the content and they are often slow, from the wrong country (DRM issues) or just not available.
You can test skyfire, but for me it didn't do the trick.

opera and zoom

Hi,
I have the following problem. If I thouch the screen softly and preform semicircles opera zooms out and in.
Does someone have this problem too?
Because it's really annoying if I want to scroll, opera zooms out...
km
I heard that Opera supports "gestures" but I thought that was only for the Desktop and Wii releases of Opera... they may have ported it over to mobile.
though I can't seem to replicate this problem :S
Opera 9.7 support Zoombar. Any ideas with Opera10 and Opera Mini5?

How to get browser to view mobile sites?

Hey everyone,
Here's the deal. I install security cameras for a living and it's getting to the point were business owners expect to be able to view these cameras from their phone, be it Windows, Android, or Blackberry. I am mainly interested in viewing cameras from a Geovision DVR, if that makes any difference. I had this working on my TP2 and on a Droid once, but I can't get it working on my Evo.
The DVR has a built-in webserver. If you visit the DVR with a desktop machine on, say, Internet Explorer, it will display the full blown site. If you visit the DVR from a mobile phone, you are supposed to see the mobile version of the site. The thing is, the default internet browser on the Evo and Opera Mini try to display the full blown site. I assume the browsers are passing some information to the server that tells it if it is mobile or desktop, and it's emulating desktop.
I've tried enabling the "Mobile View" on the browsers but still get the full site. I'm not sure why the stock browser does it but I think Opera does it because of that Opera Turbo feature. I downloaded a browser from the Market call "Mobile Broswer" but when I try to view a camera it gives me "Page Cannot Be Displayed" and I have to paste the camera link into the stock browser and it will open it in the streaming media viewer.
Any ideas? This is giving me a headache because everyone seems to think it's my fault that their phones won't view the cameras anymore.
Thanks!
