Cannot Change the Theme for Windows Mobile 6.1 Today Screen on FUZE - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I have added two new themes to the FUZE and they are listed in Settings/Today. However, the theme does not change on the Today Screen when I select the new theme. I can only have the default theme no matter which theme I select. This all happens when I turn off the Touchflo 3D and try to use only the original Windows Mobile 6.1 Today Screen. Anybody can help?

Which themes have you added? Are they for different system colors?
have you tried a soft reset?

hello, are you hitting the ok button after you select the theme, does it change if you select on of the included default themes?
lupe

Are they Qvga themes or Vga themes ?

These are VGA themes. Even I tried to load the original Windows Mobile Green and Guvava Bubbles, there is no change. Only the Windows Mobile 6.1 would change the top bar to a dark green color. Yes, I always hit the OK button after selecting a different theme and I have not tried the soft rest yet.
Thanks!

Soft reset
Soft reset that dude.

As suspected, Soft Reset did not change anything.

i have the same thing happen when i add a new tsk. i put them in the windows folder, soft reset, and some times it takes changing the theme 5 or 6 times to get it to take. i don't have a solution i just keep trying it till it takes.

Changing themes.....not happening
I am having the exact same problem. No theme takes, I only get the green color across the top when I choose the win mo 6.1 theme. Nothing else.....any other suggestions out there?

Are you trying to change the WinMo theme or the touchFlo3D theme?

The Window Mobile theme... I am having the same exact issue... I can't get rid of this horrid green windows theme. No matter how many soft resets i do.

Actually I figured this out myself. But it comes at a price.
It takes doing a hard reset on the device. Not the one using the volume button center button and the reset. Won't work don't try it.
Goto the start menu ---> settings ---> system tab ---> clear storage (yes you can guess what does) So I would backup any files you need before doing this process.
The phone will go through the same process as it came outta box when you bought it. If you were like me it came out green outta the box. It seemed a second chance of reload the Flo3D software made the phone have a change of heart and allow me to make the window mobile theme whatever i wanted on the first try.
Hope this helps others.

My softkeys/bottom toolbar have lost their gradient!

My bottom toolbar has stopped having the gradient from whatever theme, and just shows up as a solid pale colour. This started yesterday. My phone ran out of battery and turned off, which is what caused it I'm guessing.
I have tried changing themes and soft resetting. If I choose a different theme, the bar will change colour to whatever the WM6 scrollbars/buttons are.
Its really ugly and I can't work out how to fix it. I'd really like to avoid hard resetting though..
If I press a softkey or the SIP button then the gradient appears on only the button pressed momentarily. Check out the attached screenshots.
I'll give this one bump before I resign myself to a hard reset :/

urgent help

I know this may sound stupid... But I just received the HTC touch fuze from at&t and it doesn't seem to have that special interface which it should have. It's just a simple list like the windows mobile interface. I tried changing the themes and whatnot but i'm going no where. I think I'm missing the touchflo 3d? Is there a way i can reinstall it?
try flashing a ROM or hard reset? or taking it back to the store?

Click to collapse
Try going to settings items and make sure TF3D is checked.
A little detail
Press Start>Settings>and press Today icon > click the Items tab on the bottom and then make sure that Touchflo is checked and nothing else. Close by pressing OK and see if that launches Touchflo.
Okay, after the hard reset, it works. I think it's because i was too eager to use it so i didn't let it load all the way. But now i have another issue. The keyboard just randomly stopped working....?
I press the power button to turn the screen black and turn it back and then the keyboard works for like.. 5 seconds? What is going on!!!

Can't change Windows Mobile theme

I just got my Fuze on Monday and out of the box the top and bottom bars on the today screen were green. So I tried to change the theme to Guava Bubbles because I like red but nothing happens. No matter what theme I choose the bars stay green. My wife's phone has the same problem but hers is stuck gray.
What am I doing wrong?
Make sure you disable TF3D first, change the theme and soft reset.
It should work.
Tried that already several times. No luck.
Sometimes it takes a few tries. Its like the classic theme doesn't want to be overwritten but if you go through each theme, eventually one will change.
When I encountered this, I found a cab called black bars, and had to load each theme then try the cab file after each theme loaded.
So you're saying if I change the theme and soft reset it several times it should take?
Just change the themes without resetting
Figured it out but it's not an ideal solution. No matter how many times I did a soft reset it wouldn't change. I had to go into settings and select 'Clear Storage'. This basically reset the phone to factory settings. After that it let me change the theme.
Now can anyone tell me how to change the two selections on the bottom bar of the today screen? Right now I have Calendar and Contacts but I'd really like to replace Calendar with Phone.
Just do a reg edit to HKLM\Software\HTC\Manilla and change the HomeLSKPath and HomeLSKText for left soft key and repeat for right key, HomeRSKPath and HomeRSKText.
Path = Program location (eg., Program Files\Phone.lnk)
Text = Soft Key name. (eg., Phone)

Volume Overlay Issues with New Taskbars?

Iv been reading through some of the posts on the forum regarding volume overlays being affected by installing new taskbars as i am having the same problem. In core player, WMplayer etc whenever the usual green volume overlay would appear for volume i am instead getting a black vertical block on the left hand side of the screen, no volume indication at all.
I have installed the default HTC Leo volume control but this gets rid of the speaker icon in the Taskbar i have installed and its a very basic looking volume adjustment which also overrides the HD2's main volume control aswell, so uninstalled this.
Was wondering if there is any kind of update or a file in a cab that would remedy this issue?, its not the end of the world as the volume adjustment still works but theres just no indication. Although having an actual volume overlay looks much nicer than a black box =P.
If anyone could help would be much appreciated
Also forgot to mention I did try to install a cab from a post I read where somebody had included all files that was supposed to fix this issue but after install and soft reset it didnt change a thing. I have the gfreek G_Brains WM6.5 taskbar installed on my HD2 with Co0kie's Home Tab and the Chainfire HD2 3D Driver Patch... if this helps at all.
Same with me, on 1.66 standard ROM (UK).
I don't think this really is fixed on many of the taskbars.
I'm using the one attached below at the moment, has the old style black volume control though, and I would prefer the proper green slide one.
DJC seems to work OK too (do a search), and with the proper green slide volume control, but the voicemail icon isn't included and it's the standard white windows one amongst the nicer looking DJC graphics icons.
i was using the DJC one before but got this one becuase i was having some problems with a few of the icons not working. Posted this really to see if anyone had any idea of how to get this to work with ANY taskbar that was installed because i noticed quite a lot of people having same problems with numerous different taskbar installations. Like i said its not that big of a deal but would be nice to have the volume overlay that i had when i first got the phone (without having to uninstall my awesome new taskbar) =].
Thanx anyway

Windows Mobile 6.5 - original X and OK buttons

Hi, I was wondering how I would be able to revert to the original OK and X buttons in WM6.5... I have a theme that is making them black, but this conflicts with the taskbar so that I can't see them. Any way to go back to the original white versions without having to change my taskbar completely?
