I was wondering if there was any programs that you can use to track your friends? I dont want to do it without their consent though, so they would need to dl the program too. Anything thats free and uses google maps?

If they have an android phone and are using latitude. You will see their position in google maps. If you want, I can show you, just PM me.

U use their gmail accout, add their email and it will send them a confirmation link and they set it up to what level of information they want to share with u. Ive noticed that other android handsets are more accurate as they are always updating, iphone bb and wm have to actually run google maps i think.
I was wondering, can you remove the gtalkservice.apk, Talk.apk, Mail.apk, Gmail.apk? Because I never use them and they are causing problems with EasyTether. Thanks

You can only remove Mail.apk from the list you've stated.
The others you cannot remove (correct me if I'm wrong). Gmail verifies your Email so you can access the market, so deleting that is out of the question. Gtalkservice and Talk go hand in hand, as they both represent the Google Talk chat application and I'm more than positive if you delete that, your phone with present you with FC's.

Why would you ever want to remove Gmail though? Gmail is amazing, no other Email service even remotely compares when it comes to functionality, stability, and features.

you can remove talk.apk but not the provider as well with gmail.apk

Use the official Facebook app, it works better than friend stream. You can do the same with the official Twitter app.
I don't get how to do it with the facebook application. I messed around with it for a bit, but no avail. Any help?

Go to settings and make sure you have sync contacts enabled. The names /emails have to be similar, but you can always go the contact app, edit a contact and then use the join option in the menu to manually connect contacts.
Edit: this works better than Sense because now all apps that use contact syncing will now have that popup menu when you click on a contacts photo.

Sorry man, but Friend Stream is for HTC Sense frameworks, and won't work in CM6. But, if you purchase Launcher Pro Plus, then that launcher has a widget similar to friend stream (puts facebook + twitter stuff in one widget for ya).
Good luck
Also as an fyi- you can go to any OTA rom, download and rip out any apk's you may want to try. All you need is winrar and you can extract the friendstream.apk file from system/app/ yourself

Use Launcherpro (http://www.launcherpro.com/. It has a widget that is the same as Friendstream.
ok, so basically, turned on my phone and just by curiosity tried to clear OUT RAM using the program monitor widget and it most of the time closes about 18 apps...
is there a ways to know what those apps are and if they are needed to be running in the background?
the second thing is,I'm trying to know which App i need and not, so i listed what i see from the apps list of FitDroidv2.0... can you tell me which of there i need and which i don't?
thanks...
Note: the list are on the attachment...

in this case, email is for gmail right? won't you have problems with market?
Those are just stock apps.....
They should not slow down the phone that much.....
You can always remove those apps using Root Explorer app....
Or you can disable them from starting at start up using a third party app....
I use "Android Assistant".....
No email and Gmail are seperate.I use titanium backup to uninstall all this bloatware

Would certainly be nice to have the stock calendar app... not to fond of this one. Somehow i just find adding new appointments way more cumbersome...
