Please Help!!! what did i do!?!?!? - G1 Android Development

So i tried to go back to rc 29 and now my phone only shows a green/red/blue/white screen whenever i turn it on. I followed the instructions to a T and when it was downloading on my phone it worked all the way till the end then gave me an error message. I dont know what to do please help me.
Thanks a ton

Oh... the dreaded Multi Color screen of Death.
Sorry to say it man. You are out of luck. That is the only TRUE brick that happens.
Better luck next time. No way to fix it. Might as well throw your phone in some water, or use it as a paperweight.
Now, I did hear sticking a paper clip into the USB port while you boot it up often fixes it.

Is this true? F***

Dont worry. Just check md5 of the DREAIMG.nbh .I`m sure that MD5 is wrong, thats why u have error

can you please explain how to do this?

Your device is from USA or England?
If it`s from USA downdload RC29NBH.zip here http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?title=Root_For_RC30.
Then extract file DREAIMG.nbh., Format your sdcard in FAT32, Copy DREAIMG.nbh on SDcard. And then compare the MD5 of your file. It must be MD5 Checksum: 53840b90a0fe1bfab19fab8ef8fb9724. If its OK Turn OFF your phone, insert SD into your phone, turn On your phone.
If you have windows PC you can check MD5 in MD5checker. (you can find it in google).
P.S. Sorry for my English.

Haha I'm just playing roush.
A couple things. When you flashed are you positive your card was FAT32? Also make sure it was update.zip, not update.zip.zip.
Try reflashing the RC 29 image *the DREAIMG one.
Lastly make sure you downloaded the right image and it's not corrupt.

In a linux world, you always... i repeat, ALWAYS check md5 sums of important files.
2BrightSparks makes a great windows program for checking md5 hash sums. http://www.2brightsparks.com/downloads.html

Normally you just have to try agaion without resettiong yout device. Just restart your computer and restart the upgrade. If it says USB V1.00 it's much better then it says nothing ! i'm shure it will not be dead at thîs point !!

That's the country id error normally its simple to get that propblem solved but i don't know how, it must be somewhere at the forum here
I tryed using this:
MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
but got a .dll error
embraser,
see my last post in this thread:

I posted the MA_UpgradeUT_Kabubi that I used in order to flash mine. If you're getting a DLL error make sure that you're copying this file in the same folder as the other files (in the TEMP folder)

This gets more complicated as a new attempt to help me arrives.
What other files in the TEMP folder are you talking about?
I think I'm probably in need of a step by step, because I don't know anymore what to do with all the files you guys were so kind on giving me.
Please...
Very easy:
1. Get that ROM fille (it should be an exe)
2. Put it in a folder (e.g. C:\ROM)
3. Right click on the rom file and select "extract files here" (if you have WinRAR)...basically just extract the files to the folder.
4. Put MaUpgradeUT_noID in same folder
5. Run MAUpgradeUT_noID

cheeeeeeeers
it still didn't work...
I got the rom, put the no id file in the same folder, executed the upgrade and got the wrong id country message, then i ran the no id file and again got the .dll error, then i repeated it several times and still nothing.

Did you extract the rom into the folder? If you Unzip ma_tmde_10601_130_10500_ship.zip you end up with a file called ma_tmde_10601_130_10500_ship.exe. Once you have this file, you should right click on it and use the "extract here" option. If you do not have this option then you need to install winrar.
The folder you extract the rom to should have the following files visible.
EnterBL.exe
GetDeviceData.exe
MaUpgradeUT.exe
ms_.nbf
nk.nbf
radio_.nbf
RUU.conf
RUU.dll
UI.dll
copy over the no country file and re run it following the above instructions.
I did all you told me to do, downloaded the
ma_tmde_10601_130_10500_ship.zip
extracted the
MA_TMDE_10601_130_10500_Ship.exe
then right-clicked on it an there's no extraction option, only compression on winrar.
here it is =)
www.world-board.net/tmde.zip
I Unzipped it and add the NOID exe =)
But I just want to tell you once more, your MDAc is German after this Procedure
Finally some progress.
I used the
MA_Qtek(BrPt)_10600_116_10500_SHIP.exe
file and it did something in 2 stages, some radio upgrade and then something else, but nothing else.
Now what?

[Q] Can Someone Please explain MD5 ...Uses and how to Compare and Check

Can Someone Please explain MD5 ... The uses and how to compare and check?
Many thanks in advance
What it does, how it works:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Md5
Program to calculate checksums (for example):
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Md5sum
http://implbits.com/Products/HashTab.aspx this puts a tab on your (right click -> properties) and you can compare it there. makes MD5 easy.
its a way of error-detecting to see if it verifies 100% without any errors. this is critical when updating radios and things. if you have a bad copy of it then you may brick your phone or cause damage because you received a corrupted version

the OP would include a MD5. once you download it, right click the file you downloaded and go to the hash tab and copy paste the one the OP pasted.. copy paste it into the box and if it matches a check will appear meaning its 100% identical
if OP doesn't include one then you cant check

OP????
what happens though if it isnt identical......
When it isn't identical, then the file got corrupted.
This can happen in a variety of ways, including:
- There was an error during download
- There was an error during the original upload
- The file got corrupted during storage on the server
- The file got corrupted because of an write/read error on your hard disk
- Someone purposefully manipulated the file, for example including a virus or even changed the file so that it would brick your device if you install it.
In any case: If the md5 doesn't match, then installing it is a big NO NO.
Effects can range from no problems over occasional errors and crashes to a completely bricked device (especially, if the error happens to be in the bootloader).
Or if someone manipulated the file willingly, he could be spying on you or causing you costs by making your phone send messages or doing calls to special expensive numbers. Or he could use your phone as a proxy for various illegal things.
PS: OP = orginal poster = the person who posted the file on the first place
Thank-you very much I understand now ....nice comprehensive answer....thanks though to all who posted

[Q] How should my MD5 Checksum read

Ok I'm a "Noob" to the Android phenom happening. Don't scold me for asking plz.
I've got "S-OFF" on my Sensation 4G and am flashing ROM's to see which I like but I'm not sure my MD5 is right.
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT - 1.17.1011
RADIO - 10.13.9035.19_M
That's what my phone is showing but i keep seeing I need 10.54.9035.00U_10.13.9035.19_M
Being that the last is identical am I good or do I need to try some other method to update the RADIO?
MD5 is to check for files.. not for phones..
This is md5.
In regards to your question, yes, you have the correct radio. You will not see "10.54.9035.00U" if you are in the bootloader screen.
However, you will see it under settings->about phone->software.
MD5 sum checks integrity of the file. There should be an MD5 listed for the file you are downloading.
Download the file, then checksum. If it matches the MD5 listed, you're good to go.
If not, there's something wrong with the file, try to download again. If still no good, get on the thread and let somebody know. Big files (like ROMs) may take a minute or two to before sum appears, be patient.

What file to download?
Just look around on the site you downloaded it from, there usually is a MD5 provided. You will just have to compare the numbers (you can do that when rebooting into recovery, then trying to find check MD5 of a file, then selecting the file you want to check).
I don't know about an automatic way to check it with recovery, with some ROM update mechanism it might.
This is an MD5 sum btw: 555d6458ed45e716eb22ced991393e35 and they must match exactly otherwise your download went wrong somewhere and you should download the files again.

could someone please verify md5 hash of sbf

hi there.
i just downloaded the german motorla atrix rom you postet here
for safety reasons i checked the md5 hashs.
the md5 of the compressed sbf.gz is ok
but unfortunately the md5 of the sbf file itself get differs from yours.
i get 87F1762240C2636331B907BCB19BF55D for the sbf file.
i tryed different extracting programs and different checksumgenerators, just to make shure.
i cant ask the poster cause i dont have my 10 usefull posts, so maybe this is the way to go..
does anyone have the opportunity to recheck an uncorrupted sbf file?
thanks
okay i redownloaded and got the same differing md5 hash as before.
so its nothing about the download.
flashed it via rsd lite..
works properly..
so the file seems to be okay and safe to flash
eventhough the hash is 87F1762240C2636331B907BCB19BF55D
..could anyone write a pm to daywalker04 since i cant and tell him?
thanks

[Q] Modify ROM md5

Hello,
I'm trying to modify a couple of roms to remove some APKs and add anothers, (Supercharged and Lithium) but I keep getting md5 mismatch, even though I modified the MD5 files with the new MD5 values (using md5sums for windows)
Can you tell me what am I doing wrong / how to force CWM Recovery to ignore the MD5 files?
Thanks
The easiest thing to do is to bypass md5sum checks by leaving the md5 file empty.

It didn't work with an empty file, neither did it without an md5 file

I've had problems with if having bad checks even with an empty md5 file. formatting my sdcard fixed it. Just backup your stuff first. hopefully yo don't have 28 GB of music like me
