It looks like they added some signed usb drivers for 64bit vista in git. Get the files here:

Anyone have Vista 64bit and want to try them out, and report back? Hopefully this will let you use the drivers without being in test mode, like you had to be with the ones that aziwoqpd had compiled.
Driver installs with no problems on my Vista 64 machine, but adb and fastboot give a device not found error :/
That error is the same as using an unsigned one in normal Windows bootup. I'll test it now and post back.
Btw: Here's an unsigned drivers workaround.

Edit:
Driver works perfectly. Windows 7 x64.
Crapped my pants at first though. Got a bsod while installing it. Lol.
Just the regular overclock bsod though, so it should go on fine for you guys.

Ah, cool. thanks for posting that workaround. I hadn't seen anything like that. I had only briefly looked into it before, but didn't see anyway to run unsigned drivers without going into test mode. (I don't use vista, so I wasn't that motivated to find a way )
Yea I get device not found on both unsigned and signed. But I also have a linux box to play with anyways.
look at all this old stuff.
Works 100% on 2 different vista 64 bit systems. Didn't make my video crash my machine on the one that usually does. So Kudos to the guy that made these! Tried & tested! ADB work'n. Might want to put this as a main thread or stickie for all those using vista 64bit or windows 7 64bit. Just a suggestion
Will this work with Haykuro's modified SPL?

I used to have this working at the beginning of the month, using RUU 2.01 + WMDC 6.1 x64 Driver.
All of sudden it does not work anymore.
Tried all other RUU versions (2.03, 3.xx), no help.
Anyone with good luck please give me some hint!
Thanks a lot!
i had issues with digital signed drivers even if i turned digital signature check off during boot and so i chose a different path for flashin my phone. i installed VMware workstation. Its a program that creates a virtual machine withing windows within which u can install XP. So basically i have XP running within Vista through a virtual machine. another suggestion is dual boot vista and XP. search in google on how to do this and you will find instrucations. good luck.
Read this Guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=428469
though its for another device, but the steps are same for all the devices
Enjoy
A hot to for anyone who makes the same mistake as me. You can't (or I couldn't) flash from Windows 7. I tried all day following the guide on here incase I was doing something wrong, however soon as I tried with XP, it worked first shot.
Now that I understand this system I will do a tiny bit of work to see if I can get it to work under 7, unless somebody already know the trick?

yeah, it comes with the latest version of WMDC / active sync. USB drivers were installed from Windows update so it would sync with the device.
The difference I noticed is when the XP would send the Treo to the bootloader (red, blue, green, white), the Host computer would recognise a 'HTC usb Hub' or something of the like.
Ya. I did it to my Treo 750 through Windows 7. Just follow the isnstructions here. It also doesn't work on vista unless you follow these steps. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=511763
On Step 2 it says this is only for Vista users, but follow those steps too.
A friend of mine just bought this phone and could not get the phone to display the contents of his microSD card on his WinXP computer thru USB. And because his handset came without installation discs and I didn't want to install bloated Samsung Kies I tried to find the drivers on this "Fit" sub-forum. Strange as it seems I couldn't find a single thread that could locate me to only Samsung's USB drivers.
I tried to install USB drivers for my Galaxy S and they worked like a charm (no reboot needed)!
In this thread are the newest Samsung USB Drivers for Mobile Phones (x86 & x64).
If you can't download from mediafire, you can try the megaupload mirror.
And these are the drivers I used and they worked like a charm on a WinXP (x86) machine.
I hope I helped!
Hey, sorry for the trouble, but can you post a link for a x32 version for win xp, please??
Hi!
WinXP x32?
There are only x86 (32-bit) and x64 (64-bit) PC architectures. You probably meant WinXP 32-bit, which is x86.
If I'm wrong use the latest USB drivers because there are both included (you can't go wrong with that).
And I forgot to mention that in the last megaupload link are the old USB drivers (in case the newest don't work). These old ones were tested by me and they worked flawlessly on a WinXP x86 machine.
Sorry for late reply.

Oops my bad, was ignorant about that...
Thank you!!!
So, A few months ago I downloaded and installed the developers preview of windows 8. I liked it a lot and backed up my windows 7 hd, wiped and fully installed windows 8.
Well, I bought the HTC One S yesterday. Amazing phone.
My problem, I can't root my phone because while installing the htc drivers it comes up with "~ doesn't recognize this OS" or something like that. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Tom
Maybe you should revert back to windows 7 then if the drivers wont install, Its pretty much impossible to anything without drivers

I figured that was the easiest solution HOWEVER I really dont want to spend 3 hours of work (Backup windows 8, delete, repart, load and install windows 7, root phone, delete, repart, load and install windows 8) for something that takes less than half an hour to do.
If anyone has any nice work arounds i'd really, really appreciate it!
What about installing some kind of virtual machine and Win7 or even XP on it?
can't you find any kind of driver that will install on WIN8?

I would try installing the Windows XP mode (virtual machine) if Windows 8 lets you, as mentioned above.. or perhaps download TinyXP and install as dual boot. maybe even a live install to a bootable usb drive.. although I've never been able to get that method to work well.
Or! I'll sell you my HP TC1100 already set up for HTC & Samsung phone modding!
Hello!
I have a problem with Kies, I've searched around the site but couldn't an answer.
The thing is, I download Kies from the samsung site, and when I open the .exe, I see a green bar and after that it disappears and the installer never opens.
I have Windows XP x64 bit.
Thanks!
do you have a download manager?
It's possibly the download didn't complete properly or is corrupt in some way. I would download again using a download manager (downthemall) is a popular firefox add-on
Failing that try obtaining the installer from a different site, and/or possibly try a different version
Edit: windows XP x64 is a pretty bad version of windows to be on (its not really 64bit) I would suggest upgrading your operating system at some stage

I just installed downthemall and downloaded Kies again, but the same thing happened. The installer won't open.
I've already tried downloading the installer from a different site but the same thing happened.
I have no idea what's the issue here.
Yeah I was planning to update it to windows 7 but I don't know when, I don't like much the way it looks
There are a lot of program compatibility issues with windows xp 64, I would say install on any other machine and it will work
just because its 63 1/2 bit doesnt mean you needs another computer, as i have win xp (almost) (64BiT) as well and ,win 7 on my laptop and regular win xp 32.5 bit and none WORK WITH KIES! ITS SAMSUNG JUST FACE THE TRUTH AND DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A NEW OS JUST TO BE VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED, if their are any compatibility issues they are due to programs not being "MADE" compatible with it. besides i would rather be the one compatible with my computer then my apps

I also have the same problem. Windows 7, x64.
Has anyone found a solution?
Sorry for bringing this thread back to life, but I have a similar problem with KIES, only mine says that my pc is not connected to the internet!!!! OF course it doesn't take into account that I'm posting this as we speak.... Of all the problems an installation could face, internet connection is the one that messes with it?!
Does anyone have a solution?
i tried some months ago to install kies drivers and in my win7 64bit i don't have any problems
but i tried kies programs only first time, then i deleted it.
some days ago i get cyanogenmod to delete jellymod that have a lot of problems, also via usb ( i can't get files to my computer that appear a pop up of windows that says my devices is going off... too strange
anyway i nned to try now with cyano, if i have the same pop up, i guess is a usb cable, or another problem that i need to find and resolve...
