Fireflyclient on windows mobile ... - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I've asked the question twice on the firefly forum, but none has answered ...
Fireflyclient is a java-applet which runs server-side, but can be invoked with a web-browser ... Its used to play songs from an iTunes like library (firefly) ...
It's running perfectly on my vista & xp's ... But i can't get it to run on windows mobile ...
I guess it's because of the latest JRE is needed, but how to achieve running this program on windows mobile ?

Try Skyfire
Hi
Try Skyfire. It's currently in public beta here: http://www.skyfire.com/
Cheers

Could have been a solution ... sadly i'll have to wait till wvga is supported
Quote : Skyfire will not run on WVGA Windows Mobile phones.
Hopefully it will be supported soon ... Or will it only show vga resolution on wvga ? In that case it's wortwhile the try ...
No solutions on opera mobile ?

I don't care about your age or your language skills. I only care about your respecting the rules! Using your mobile to post is not an excuse for your bad english and posting warez in this forum is just unacceptable!
VoIP and Astersik
Hey,
Yes, I have a HP iPAQ 514 Messenger.
I'm not so proud of it, not yet at least, it´s to unstable.
The specification of the phone is the same as my Qtek 8310 and of course Tornado, the only thing that´s not the same is the screen specs.
- 64MB RAM, 128MB ROM
- TI OMAP 850 200MHz processor
- Display TFT, 65K colors Size 176 x 220 pixels, 2.0 inch
- Wi-Fi 802.11b/g
The phone works great as a VoIP (SIP) WiFi phone, when it´s not hanging .
I have a question for the ROM cookers (Tornado):
Do you think this phone is worth trying to install one of your ROM:s.
Trying to install any other ROM except the one made specifically for your phone will result in breaking your phone irreversibly!!!

Windows Media Player ActiveX for Internet Explorer Mobile JavaScript issue

Hi,
I am trying to get the ActiveX plugin for the Windows Media Player to work in PocketIE, or rather Internet Explorer Mobile on an O2 XDA Orbit 2 (Windows Mobile 6). The objective is to play a wma file from a URL, but using javascript to control the player, which will sit in a display:none; styled div.
I dont want to post walls of code, so I have setup this simple page to illustrate and test it:
http://lukas.xcomms.ie/cblproof/Default.aspx
I am able to display this fine in PocketIE, and I am able to play the audio file, just as in the desktop browser. However, with the new version of this plugin (i.e. using classid "clsid:6BF52A52-394A-11D3-B153-00C04F79FAA6" instead of the old "CLSID:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95"), I am no longer able to use the javascript calls for .Play() and .Stop() on the player object.
When I switch the code back to use the old plugin, I can successfully use javascript to control the player in the desktop version of IE, but since the plugin is not installed on the WinMo6 device, I cannot bring the page to load the player in PocketIE.
Has anyone come across this before, or is there any reference documentation for the new ActiveX plugin, similar to the old Windows Media Player for PocketPC SDK that Microsoft had for PocketPC 2002 way back when?
Any input here would be much appreciated, I have trawled this forum and the internet for two days now, but unfortunately information is very sparse. I am stuck with PocketIE because of other requirements for the project, so switching to Opera or SkiFire is not an option I am afraid.
Thank you very much in advance for any pointers!
Mike
Other options
Hi again,
since no-one seem to have an idea to circumvent this particular challenge, can anyone suggest an alternative? I would be willing to skin the plugin, or use any other means of controlling audio in a web page through JavaScript.
I hate the fact that we have to work with Pocket IE on this, but at least it means that whatever solution we go for will need to work only on this platform and not across a variety of handsets / browsers.
Very grateful for any thoughts, opinions, advice,
Thanks again!
Mike

Why not just download the official YouTube client directly from Google. It'll work a lot better. Although if you really want flash from a web browser, Skyfire is the way to go.

[REQUEST] SID player (Commodore 64 audio)

I can't believe there isn't any SID player for winmo, or I didn't search well enough. Please, does anybody know for existence of any sid player program? Or, even better, can anybody port it for winmo? SIDTool is PC sid player written in .NET, so I guess it can be easily port for winmo if author share the sourcecode?

There is a freeware program called PocketSID which plays SID files quite happily. It was written for Windows Pocket PC Edition 2003, but it works fine on my HD2 (running WM6.5). A quick use of everyones good friend "Google" should help you find it online!

[Q] Help with Internet browsers for Windows Mobile 6.5

Can anyone help me with finding a suitable Internet browser for my HTC HD2 running Windows Mobile 6.5?
The chief consideration is flash support. The device comes with Opera Mobile and Windows Mobile Internet Explorer, both of which can play some online video content but not nearly all.
I used to use Skyfire for viewing online video content and then, when they stopped supporting Windows Mobile, moved to uZard. This, like Skyfire before it, was brilliant but has now stopped working. I don't know why; I contacted the company and posted details of the problem on this forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377265) but I have had no replies.
So I am trying (and so far failing) to find another mobile browser that can be used on Windows Mobile 6x devices and can view, at least, the majority of online video content.
Any ideas, anyone?
