Any good Camera Application? - HTC Vox

hello guys, i was wondering if there was any good camera application for the Vox??? (something similar to the camera application on the HTC hurricane wm2003se) I feel on the Vox the interface of the built in camera is terrible. I mean the resolution is worked out in Mega Pixels, e.g if you want a 2MP snap the resolution must be set to max which means no more further zooming.
Therefore is there any good camera application which will keep the snap at 2MP standard and giving some good zoom option with it?? Please recommend or please post a good application if possible thanks.

How would a digital zoom work, other than making it bigger by reducing the resolution?

oh i'm not sure about that, all i know is, on my previous htc hurricane which was on wm2003se, the camera was awesome, no matter how big the resolution was, the mega pixels reamained the same. All im asking for is suggestion of a good camera application!

What the poor guy was suggesting is that it will not help you with any camera application to get better quality image. It will be like taking your picture in say, VGA and then using irfanview or something like that to just resize the image. And moreover different phones have different camera. My Gene's Camera can give SE K790i a run for its money. But trust me Digital Zoom is a hoax!
I guess no body knows about any camera here. May be you can google and let us know if you find one.

2 megapixel after upgrade to WM6 on my uni..

Hi all,
I recently upgraded to WM6 (file name is XDA_EXEC_WWE_20202_20307_11500.exe). The results were all good as I really like the new "glass" like interface. However, the camera now has a "2M" option which displays the resolution as 1600x1280 which appears to be one of the few 2meg resolution sepcifications out there. The pictures taken also have the resolution of 1600x1280 and don't appear to be stretched or skewed in any way which would be evident if resolution of a smaller pictures was increased disproportionately. Does this mean that camera's resolution is limited only by software? or is it some kind of glitch?
Any feedback would be most appreciated.

Hi,
The Camera CMOS is only capable of 1.3MP, you get 2MP by software interpolating. Basically the CMOS captures a 1.3MP shot and the software resizes and fills in the gaps by guessing what should be there by using complex algorithms to analyze the original picture.
If you want to know more search the Wiki......................wikipedia that is!
Cheers,
Beast
Yes its done by interpolation. Even the old WM5 camera app already has this option.

Custom picture settings

I'm a big picture guy and wanted to know if any of you guys have adjusted any of the settings and have noticed better picture quality. I must say taking off auto-focus does help with the blurryness a little as stated in a previous post but just wanted to know what differences have you made/seen...
I currently have most things set to default.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Set it to highest resolution.
You will probably have to go to another app to really get good pictures. The stock app compresses them down too much. Hopefully, they will improve it in later updates. There is no excuse for not having more features like Camera 360 - the camera can do much better.
Ditto for the "720p" video. Did some side-by-side with a still camera that has a 720p mode - night and day difference in quality. Again, hope/wonder if this can also be upgraded with only software.
Switch to standard photo size by switching off widescreen mode. All widescreen does is lop off pixels from the top and bottom of your photos. If you really wanted that, just do it yourself in a photo editor. You are not using the full resolution of your camera in widescreen mode, and 16:9 photos are non-standard when it comes to printing either 4x6 or 5x7 photos.

3 questions about camera

1.) why is the camera photo quality so horrible even with camera mods and everything? is it the lens or the software?
2.) why cant we take 5MP 3d photos? both cameras are 5MP..can this be solved with software?
3.) why cant we choose which camera we want to use (left or right) for 2d video recording/still camera. its not very useful for most but for people like me who got some dust under the main camera lens cover and not able to remove, it would be useful
and if u have any ideas how to remove the dust under camera lens cover please tell me!
1. Definitely the software. I believe all the mods are just modding the stock camera and increasing their bitrate and quality. However, that's not really fixing up other issues so the image quality still looks bad. But for proof that its not the lens, download a camera app called Camera360. Try it out, I've never taken more beautiful pictures with a phone before. So yea, I believe its all just in the image technology LG used for their images.
2. Not sure.
3. shrug* your guess is as good as mine.
Why is the camera soooo slowwww? or is it the camera app?
To speed up the stock camera set your focus (in camera settings) to continuous - nice quick snaps..... the focus may be off for close shots but those you can use macro or auto (just on auto its MUCH slower!)
A class 10 SD card will also help with speed if you are saving to the external SD card

[Q] G2x Camera settings

I'm referring here to picture settings, not video. I've used the default camera app some and been having fun with a camera app called Vignette that's pretty nifty (but very slow once the pic's been taken).
I was looking to get some opinions and feedback on the megapixel settings. If one isn't planning on printing pics is it really necessary to use the 8mp setting? Does anyone here use the 5mp or 3mp settings?
I'm curious because I want to learn more and be able to make an educated decision about my camera settings.

Question Question about Methods to use the 48MP sensor in other apps outside the original Cam App

Hi since yesterday i know a problem with my A127f , if i use other apps to get pictures from cam, i'ts not posible to select the 48 MP sensor.
In detail i use DocSan - an application which helps to scan books etc. because of the Size of the book high resolution is necessary. If the pictures from cam is taken only 2 cams are for example selectable in openCam. So the question for me is how to get high resolution Pictures outside the original cam app.
Also i ask me if a alternative firmware would help, at this time my Handy has the newest origin samsung firmware.
It would really interesting if someone has experience how to get access to 48MP Cam, or if someone know that it is not possible.
Best regards, Frank
