Greek T9 & 160 characters - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hi,
I have spent the last week trying to get a greek keyboard with T9 on my AT&T Fuze (Raphael/HTC Touch Pro), and for the life of me, nothing has worked. I see Greek characters (say on Phone Pad layout) but when I tap on the screen, nothing gets displayed. Only spaces do and symbols.
Once I get that, I am hoping to find a way to enable 160 characters (convert message to capitals).
I am running RRE HTC Fuze Rom 4.4.5 Special Edition. I am willing to give any other rom a chance provided I can type Greek and English using T9 (but English UI please).
I have tried, or at least I want to believe, everything on the forums.
First, I tried NitroGenious's Greek-English cab (I used his Rom on my T-Mobile SDA (Tornado) and worked amazingly well). -> No Greek on menu, probably because this was for a smartphone.
Then I tried T9 Input 14 Languages Update (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402121) and that gave me greek symbols on the display (software) keyboard, but when I try to type a word using Phone Keypad or other keyboard layouts, I don't get suggestions or anything (of course I have turned on all T9 options: Spell Correction, Word Completion in T9 mode, Word Completion in ABC mode, Auto-Substitution).
Then I tried using some other (non HTC) keyboard layouts and their T9s.
First I tried whc_SM_Keyboard_+_eT9_M_v1.6 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3057424&postcount=1). That gave me Greek as well, but no T9 for Greek.
Then I tried HTC Phone Pad (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312235), and this one worked but the VGA version only has English. The International version keyboard was 1/2 the screen in width, which made it very difficult to press buttons. I would prefer to stick with default keyboards in ROM but if this can work, I would be ok with it.
Third, I tried MoDaCo_Vox_eT9_Language_Pack.cab, and that didn't five me T9 either.
Last, I tried fingertouchpro_2.0_rc7.cab and that was just wrong (+ the greek didn't work).
And I wouldn't pay for T9 in a million years.
Obviously, I had to hard-reset my device many times already, which I am ok doing until I can find a solution.
If I need to make any changes to the registry (point to png, kdb and ldb files), I am fine with doing this if anyone knows the keys and values.
All I need is T9 in Greek that works with my HTC Touch Pro (English T9 works fine). If I can see the Greek characters, even better. If not, I'll use my intuition.
If I can get that, then it would be awesome if I can get something to be able to write 160 greek characters (Capitals). In the past there used to be something called SMS160, but that was quickly removed because it is owned by Ace Hellas. Any alternatives?
Any help would be wholeheartedly appreciated.

Keyboad which switches layout to different language

WM5/WM6 has build in on-screen keyboard which works OK when typing in English.
Now lets say I activated another "Locale" in registry to be able to type in e.g. Russian (0419).
Now I can type in Russian, but ... if I look at on-screen keyboard, it has no russian characters It has some weird characters instead.
So ... is there any way to do this ... when I'm typing using on-screen keyboard and I change language, that on-screen keyboard layout will change accordingly and display Russian characters layout ?
I know about Resco keyboard, but it is kind of heavy and consumes a lot of resources. I'm looking for lighter solution
what would be more interesting to switch it completely ... say an english rom with a russian keyboard instead of the english one.
Well ... when I click two buttons to change between English and Russian layout in hardware keyboard, it would be nice that soft-keyboard will display proper symbols TOO.
I think MuNs keyboard has something I need, but I believe it is bundled with numeric keypad (where you dial phone numbers)

tegic xt9 crash course? how do I add new words?

How do I add new words using xt9 in the excellent wm6 rom? I've managed to install and use scandinavian t9 (and also managed to re-enable english, since it disappears when installing scandinavian t9 ;-)). But I can't figure out how to add my one words. Does anyone have a manual?
All you need to do is change to ABC input, by holding the *t9 key (bottom left hand side key) and selecting ABC. Then type the word you want. Next time you input with XT9 you will see that it has learned your word.
Thanks, man. It works great. This explains why I've managed to store some words and not knowing how.
How can you enter hundreds of words into the database simultaneously????
I use winmo 6.1 btw...

Swype-omnia and 3.19 several issues

I have 5 questions...how to reset swype, how to guess which version is running and some more issues.
QUESTIONS:
1.
how can I know which swype version i am running? from which menu? or settings or where?
2. How to install a dictionary, for example ITALIAN Dictionary? (I have the Italian cab, but installation does not work)
I have two HD. The old one HTC-HD2, NOT T-mobile (running an old 6.5.3 cooked rom) has a modified swype in which sometimes (50% of times) long pressing does NOT result in a number to be typed. But it has ITALIAN language.
My new HD2 t-mobile has probably a omnia version (smaller keys) and long press ALWAYS work. Unfortunately it only has only ENG and SPANISH dictionaries, NOT ITALIAN. I have tried to install Italian cab (following a thread here) but it is NOT recognized as a legitimate dictionary.
3.
How to reset swype? In fact after 3 or more months, the OLD HD2 has this problem: I have accidentally hit od and i3 and press space. these 2 mistyped words are now part of the ENGLISH dictionary, right? then what happens, every time i type OF I get OD (as default choice) and same for IF: I get i3...so I wish to reset the internal dictionary. How to do it?
4.
The NON-omnia swype, in the 3rd screen (click 123-SYM key 3 times), has an option "SELECT ALL", The Ommia-version of swype does NOT have this option. Is there a way to add in omnia-version of swype?
5. TYPO vs TO
The english dict has this word TYPO. Each time I swype TO the system ALWAYS enter TYPO...how to correct this behaviour? I wish to eliminate TYPO from dictionary. there are instructions on how to do. but these instructions do not work...
Thanks and waiting
Saulo
can somebody feedback on which are the best skins for swype, available for both 3.19 and OMNIA version?
Thanks
Saulo

[Q] The single&double quote key on the dock not working? -and a bit on accented chars

[Q] The single&double quote key on the dock not working? -and a bit on accented chars
Yesterday I did a factory reset on my TF700 (JB 4.1.1). Today I was typing and found that the single/double quote key was not working on my dock keyboard. My settings where Asus Dutch Keyboard. When I switch to Asus English Keyboard or the Android Dutch or English keyboard the key is working. When I use the screen keyboard with the Asus Dutch keyboard setting I can also type a ".
So it is only when I use the dock keyboard that it is not working. Maybe somebody can shed some light on the issue?
Another question on the docking keyboard. Is there a way to type symbol like ê or ë etc on the docking keyboard?
Edit:
Both issues have been fixed in the 10.4.4.23 firmware update. The double quote key is working again and a accented character can be typed for instance by typing a ["] and an [e] in sequence. Unfortunately this is not working when typing in a browser. But in the email app it is working.

Well, you found out the issue yourself: it is dependent on the type of underlying ASUS keyboard you choose. Well-known by now, to be honest, but your issue is right there.

Couldn't find it on the forum that's why I raised the question. Probably my bad search skills Thanx for answering. Now it's waiting for Asus to fix this.
Eh? It worked in .18.. I specifically remember the @ and " keys being fixed in it.. Dafuq Asus?
Why not just use the US keyboard? All keyboards in the Netherlands have been the US QWERTY keyboard since well before the turn of the millenium. The old original Dutch keyboard became redundant decades ago.
(I don't think we've ever used it to begin with. We're too busy running after the US.. Which for once i'm glad for, as the original NL keyboard was crap.)

The Asus Dutch Keyboard is not the keyboard you are refering to. Which is in fact ancient and I only saw one back in the 90s. The ASUS Dutch Keyboard used to be the same as the Asus English (US) keyboard except the input language is set to Dutch so it does Dutch spelling check. But you got me thinking because the keyboard I use it listed as ASUS Dutch (Holland) keyboard. Maybe it should be ASUS Dutch (US) keyboard.
But I don't know how to change this setting. Anybody can help out?
Ah. I always thought the spellcheck was related to the system language? Since you set Spell checker under Language, and not Keyboard & Input. (Suggestive typing drove me to near insanity, so I turned it off...) (I only type in English and my system language is set to UK English, so I never noticed whether the spellcheck is related to the keyboard or not.)
There used to be a Holland and US variant... Where the hell did that go? (I can't find it either.)
Yes, I think the spell check language is the system language (by default, and I have found no other way to change it). Accented letters have never worked for me on this device, although others did report that on the German language default, they actually had them working. Now I think of this, I tried setting the tab's language to "Deutsch (Deutschland)" and indeed, I have accented letters! They do not correspond to the keys, however, so you're going to have a hard time typing this way. For example, the " ' " key gives an "ä".

Sorry I've to disagree on the spell checking being reliant on system language only. I've configured my system language as English and set the Spell Checker setting to ᷰ'Use system language' . Then when I go to the mail program and choose 'Asus English (US) keyboard' spell checking is in English. But when I change to 'Asus Dutch (Holland) Keyboard', spell checking is in Dutch.

Well, no matter what my selected keyboard is, if I select German as the system language I get the accented letters. *That* *was* your question, right? I can't remember you talking about the spell check, so it is not that relevant. You wanted accented letters, now you get them but you cannot type. In other words: soft keyboard for you, if need be.
EDIT: deep in the settings there turns out to be an option to bind the spell checker to a specific language, or system default. AFAIK, it shouldn't change when you simply select another keyboard when on the system default language option, but then it would not exactly be the first time that ASUS-injected stuff does funky things.

My original question was on the quote key not working when selecting Asus Dutch AND on international characters. The spell checking was introduced when ShadowLea was wondering why I wanted to use the Asus Dutch keyboard. I know I can set the language to German for accented characters but like you said totally unusable when using the dock keyboard. But I can live with the accented characters not working. But the quote key not working is a big pain in the ass. Like I said before I wait for Asus to fix this.

Hey, no offence meant. OT: the funny thing is that on CleanROM the quote/double qoute key is working fine for me (English/US system language). Have you tweaked anything else on your device?
EDIT: I do sometimes run into the accented letter issue, and then I am very annoyed. Trying to type something like "fiancée" or "René" causes me headaches every time. I have given it some thought just printing the ASCII code list.

No offence taken. I have a stock Tf700, no tweaking yet. And on a stock rom the quote key is also working on Asus English keyboard/US system language. It's when I switch to Asus Dutch Keyboard it stops working and just inserts a space when pressed. I read on another forum what people using the Asus Potugese keyboard run into the same problems. So I guess there are more input languages that suffer the same problem.
Printing the Ascii list ... back to the days of word perfect
The workaround I found is pressing the little keyboard icon next to the docking icon in the notification bar. And then turn Physical Keyboard off. Doing this one can use the docking keyboard and the screen keyboard at the same time. So whenever I have to press a double/single quote or a accented character I use the screen keyboard. And it also enables me to switch back and forth input languages using the globe key on the screen keyboard (lower left side of the screen).

Yeah, it's like a time machine. Only far worse.

Albeit at the cost of screen real estate, this does seem like a viable workaround for now. Thanks for sharing.
Ah, the Ascii list... I still have one hanging on the wall behind my monitor, just for nostalgia's sake. (and lazyness, can't be bothered to go to 'edit, insert, symbol, scroll list...' just to get º. )

It does come in handy sometimes. That being said, even the ASCII list doesn't work on the dock keyboard, so I'm SOL for now.
I updated the title of the thread so it better covers the content.
Well, for the accented characters you can use AltGR (right alt, but on the dock the only alt) + any of the letters:
ä = q
å = w
á = a
é - e
ü = y
ú = u
í = i
ó = o
ö = p
Sadly, this misses the ë. (Which really is the most accented letter in Dutch. -.- And probably the most hated in schools.)
Well, I just stumbled onto the ALT+SPACA shortcut. That might even be a saving grace for ZoldarVL. WT.... I guess I'm still not through with learning how to operate this thing.
@ShadowLea: the shortcuts you gave above are for the German lay-out, I presume? (They do not work on the English lay-out, obviously, since they never use these accented letters. How sad.)

Asus Dutch (Holland) Keyboard layout. The éáóúí work on the UK setting, none work on the US setting. (There's a boatload more signs under the dutch altgr combo, these are just the accented keys. Altgr+shift give even more)
And yes, the Alt+Space gives a symbol menu. Did I not mention that? Bugger, I thought I did...

Also the ï is missing. Probably the second most accented letter in Dutch.
I'll try the solutions you guys provided and report back. Much abbliged.

Using and not using diacriticals (accented characters)

Hey guys,
I have looked but for some reason it's difficult to find information on this topic.
Sometimes I need to write in Slovak language on my Android 6 phone. However, it seems neither the AOSP keyboard nor GBoard have the ability to type with diacriticals (accented/national characters). The SK keyboard is identical to the EN one.
I tried SwiftKey but that seemed to slow down my phone and make it less stable. Is there any way to add languages with national characters to the standard keypad? (Preferably to the AOSP one.)
My 2nd question is about the reverse. AOSP keypad offers no word suggestions when the language is set to SK. GBoard and SwiftKey do, but only WITH accented characters. However most of the time when I type even in SK, I still don't want to use accented characters.
Is there any way to use a national dictionary (again preferably in AOSP) but have all the accented characters replaced with the standard A-Z? (E.g. č->c; é->e.) Even my old candybar phone with T9 had that ability 12 years ago and I miss it :/
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Oh sh*t posted in the wrong forum, sorry!! Please move to Q&A, I had multiple tabs opened and confused them
