ROMs, upgrades, OSs...!!

Once and for all (or at least for now) can someone tell me what is the latest ROM version for the I-mate Jam (and all those other things its called), latest WM OS and where do I get it?! I'm still confused after an hour of browsing through the forum...
p.s. is there such a thing as WM2003SE 2.02?? and is it fit for my Jam?

Anycase: the latest ROM is v1.11. But you have to check which kind of device you have (Qtek S100, Imate Jam, etc..) before you can install the appropriate update.
As I read you have an Imate Jam? (Are you sure?) Check the Imate website... there's an official v1.11 update there, cos I don't think you'll be able to to anything else :wink:
WM2003SE means Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, which is the Operating System of the device (included in the ROM)

downgrade wm6 to wm5!

Hy...I have a G4 model, Qtek s200, and i was wondering if I will install a wm6 version, and if I will not be satisfied, can i downgrade to wm5 back?

I think so... Even if have CID locked, but i'm not quite sure. Anyone correct me if i'm wrong please!!

Yeah, it's no problem to downgrade! I played yesterday with some different WM5 ROM's (Orange UK, Qtek and O2) on my G4 XDA Neo and had no prpoblems at all time!

Yes, just follow the normal steps to do it. By the way, which WM6 rom you will try?! Looks like the smart1 clear it's good.

first of all: i want to install a wm6 version, but i don't know which one ... I have G4 model..can you give me an advice? also, i want without bugs if i can (that's the first reason that i didn't try yet)... i mean, to connect on wap, to work fine the new wm6...if you know what is the "perfect" version to install on my device, i am waiting your opinion

There is no "perfect" WM6 yet but the SMART1 WM6 Rom (clear) it's quite good... in this thread they talk about it and is litle bugs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295225

I tried Smart1's WM6 ROM and successfully downgraded it to WM5 (I-mate) portuguese ROM by just using the normal procedure.
The problem is it doesn't work properly with Windows Vista. Don't try to upgrade to WM6 on Vista as it wont work properly!

Just a question about downgrading - I read somewhere in the forum that it is important NOT to downgrade to a lower IPL or SPL because it will brick the device. is it so?

I have a G4 that I upgraded to WM6 recently (SMART clear rom).
I liked WM6 but I have to remove it because it is only compatible with ActiveCrap 4.5, which doesn't support outlook 2000 anymore (version used at my office) .
my IPL/SPL : 2.10.0001
I would like to downgrade to last AKU 3.3 (couldn't backup my wm5 rom since my prophet is CID locked). Can I downgrade to AKU 3.3 safely?

Yes, you can do it safely! My Neo is a G4 too and I switched often between smart1 clear WM6, the official O2 update, ASerg's 3.3.12 US nad the Qtek 2.20 with no problems!

HI I am using I-mate jasjar and upgrade to Wm 6. After that there is no video call option on that. Now I want to downgrade to WM 5. How can I do this? Where can I download WM 5? Please send all the details to my email [email protected].

I purchased an O2 Neo XDA here in India which Shows "HTC Inovation" Screen on Startup and then with the below details it Shows "Dopod Enjoy Mobility". The following are the details of My Neo
IPL 2.15.0001
SPL 2.15.0001
RADIO 02.19.21
OS 2.15.13.27
I want to ask the following:
1) Is this a cloned version? or Which brand it is HTC or Dopod??
2) Is WM6 possible for my Neo? if Yes, I would be grateful to u if you guide me on how-to.
3) I am visiting this forum frequently and reading the post about upgrading Prophet. I am confused with some words such as Kitchen ROM, Cooked ROM, Bricked etc. Can anybody tell me what these are exactly?
My main intention is to upgrade but I am afraid of doing it 'cause wrong upgrade my cause damage to my Neo. So please guide me and also tell me what are the advantages of WM6 over WM5?

Dopod is a Phone Provider like T-Mobil or Vodafone
Yes you can install WM6 on it
Kitchen is a collection of Tools to Cook a ROM
Cooking is more change some settings ... programms ... what ever in a ROM Images
Bricking = damage Phone its possible if you write the Firmware with the wrong DOC

Prophet Rom Upgrade in Vista... Possible?

Hi Mates!! hehehe.
First, let-me thank you all for all the knowledge you share around here.
Its impressive, since the first moment I bought my (used) prophet (Imate JAMin) I spent some time reading everything here.
Well, let stop chating...
My prophet came in Portugal Portuguese, and I would like to change it to English. Since I´ll have to make everything, I´m thinking in upgrade it to WM6 or 6.1 (I´m not sure of cons and pros...I accept suggestions )
It is possible to upgrade the ROM in a pc runing windows vista??
The softwares required to do all the trick works at Vista?? (Ultimate by the way, if it changes anything)

Let´s make a "Live" step by step.
I´m now, officialy trying to upgrade my prophet.
1st Try:
I´m using a XP pc, and tried to upgrade to WM6.
Probably, I messed up forgetting to do the Hardspl.
I thought the "upgrade utility" allready did that...
So i Got
THREE COLOR SCREEN!
After a few seconds of "OH MY GOD! I JUST F***ED IT..."
I went lunch... sad (screew all, later I solve it..)
I download NVID_RUU and restored it perfectly, and greater...
At least, now a have a Prophet that speaks english!!!
The EU-Portuguese didn´t even had writing recognition...
Well, now a have again, my fullyworking Prophet, lets go to the second round.
Upgrading to WM6!!!

Yeah!!! I did it...
Well, even having read the tutorial, many times I forgot to run the hardspl thing.
I noticed something weird, cause the tutorial said "the progress bar appeared only at the computer".
After restoring my prophet. I runned the hardspl, just 3 minutes and went fine.
So, I runned the upgrade tool, and again all went smooth...
Now I have a fully working Prophet running WM6.
Let me ask you something.
Did you notice any king of Advantage in using WM6.1?
The phone is too slow?
I´m thinking if i should update to 6.1. Seems that WM6 is good enough, but, if i had any advantages...

i have a prblem upgrading to WM6.1 in vista, is it really imposible upgrading ROM in vista?
i have already download and install windows mobile device centre (microsoft says that this software work as well as active sync in win XP) and i already syncronise my prophet to my PC.
when i tried to upgrade the ROM there always an error occur.it says connection problem.
anybody can hel me please.....

Install Windows xp and try again, on my vista PC i never managed to upgrade my prophet on xp it always works.

I heard about "Hardspl" what does it mean?
Can my touch pro connect to Blackberry Messenger? or just sync the email?
