Hi guys, I'm trying to figure out why HTC audiomanager wont play a certain file, (and crashes / hangs) as a result.
From winamp i get:
MPEG-1 LAYER 3 (MP3) , 320kbps CBR.
The ID3V2 tags contain UTF8 (japanese).
Somehow, when loading the file, audiomanager dies...
Is there a way I can get it to work?
Or perhaps, a better media player?
Look out for better player, i.e. S2P from A_C (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=417511)

I suggest Mortplayer for all audio files (exept wma) & TCPMP for all video formats.
Haven't tried any real files, so sarch a little on the web pls.

For RealMedia files, there is a RealPlayer available for the PPC.
Here's a link http://www.real.com/realmobile/download.html
fails to play the newer rm files though, just plays the sound, or just jams on "Loading"
Hi to everyone.
I am searching for an good mp3 and eventually aac player. windows media player is nice for a few songs but I really hate the way you use the libary (the way you need to change one directory up for other artist etc with you stylus).
tcpmp is nice for movies but not for mp3 playback with more than 50 songs - or am I wrong?
i have heard of ppod but development is frozen and i dont know if i should try it?!
what do you use and what can you recommend?
Ohhh : I need the software for wm2003se (its a HTC Magician)
kind regards, VL

Hey
*I was wondering if there is a good way to play wmv/mpg/... on the htc raphael?
As media player (on the raphael) can't find my mpg files on my disc when i update the library.
*Even mp3 songs give problems (i used media player to synch it but media player always uploads songs again you uploaded in the past too when you deleted them from the library)
For the mp3's I used the touch flo player first, which worked great, but since i quit using media player and started using winamp to put the mp3 files on it, TF3D crashes when i go to the music tab, and restarts.
Any solution for this? as Windows Media Player on windows mobile is slow and doesn't work good

Click to collapse
i had that problem, too. i had to do a hard reset
hi there , i have an 8G sdhc , contains over 4G of mp3's , touch flo 3d player is unable to load all songs - when i play some files - it randomly stops playing ..., ehm ...windows media player - after some time of playing using 70M of ram ... .mmm ,nice (system speed going down) finaly nice conduits pocket player - i like it very much , but ... cpu load is somewhere around 60% , and randomize knock down system to some "agony" it's hardly slow - all system things are loading one by one - titles loading look like someone writing fast on keyboard :/
thinking about sell my TP ,I'm hardly disapointed
I'm stuck. I've been using windows media player on my Raphael (Touch Pro, Fuze etc.) and it really doesnt cut it. Limited format compatability and awkward user interface. So im wondering what YOU use. Post multiple programs if needed.
Take into consideration:
What you use them for, music, video etc
The file format mp3, avi, .flac etc.
Album art?
Me? I use TCMP for videos, Windows Media Player for music or Nitrogen (0.3.2) I tried 0.2.1 but it didnt suit me. WMP has poor usability and Nitrogen has really poor library thingy, hard to select and play tracks quickly but other than that is easy to use.
Shoot!
P.S. (Links would be ace)
for just music s2p rulez
everything else, coreplayer
Agree S2P rules!!
For the rest TPCM
Coreplayer hands down here.
Coreplayer ($) is the best all-around player for me. TCMP (Free) is probably my second choice for all-around.
I use Conduits Pocket Player ($) for music, though, due to Coreplayer's strange (IMHO) library. There are probably several just-as-good free music players, but I have a license for Pocket Player, so...
TCPMP for videos & AudioManger for music...lot's of skins!
TCPMP for all!
Conduit's Pocket Player. Smooth MP3/AAC etc player that works extremely well with CPUs with lower clock speeds. Also supports WM10 plugins and skins.
I use nitrogen
theres a really simple way of fixing ur looking for music in Nitrogen problem
as it doesnt have a playlist thingy u can make folders with specific types of music in those folders
i dont kno if you understand me
Pocket Tunes for audio - it was the best at bookmarking which was a must-have for podcasts for me.
CorePlayer for video.
Between those two I've never had anything I couldn't play.
Kinoma play. MP3, WMA, (AAC? Dunno - don't use it), youtube, flickr, shoutcast, podcasts, orb.com (use this to listen to ALL of your music or watch all of your videos and even your HDTV!), iDisk, Audible.com and more.. damned near every radio station, DigitallyImported (www.di.fm) and thousands of internet radio stations and video streams.. cool panoramic photos and more..
In short.. I've used all of the others (S2P, Nitrogen, Core, etc) and I can't get over the interface and ease of use that Kinoma offers.

hello people,
I have an error with my own rom (diamond wm6.5 build 23009) when I play a mp4 files recorded with the camera. The message "source filter could not be loaded" is displaying when I play this kind of files.
I search in the registry files of package (mediaOS) and there isn't reg key for mp4. I guess that there is no codec installed for mp4 or the registry keys are missing.
Thanks for your help
EDIT : I solved this issue, it came from my DShow package
Are you willing to use another app to play almost all formats?
Try: Coreplayer or TCPMP
If you wanna stick to WMP I´m sure another member will show you the possible fix
Good luck,
It works well with core player but HTC Album can't read my mp4 files. It's why I wanna solve this issue (otherwise I hate WMP ^^).
