I was a previous Verizon customer and I could be text from e-mail at [email protected] and from whoever e-mail was from would show as the origin of the text. Example [email protected] or if it was in my contact list it would put the name like Smith, Bubba.
On AT&T, I am receiving a 10-digit number like 1010100015. Each time the number is different so you can't carry on a conversation as exampled in this photo:

Is this normal for AT&T? Can it be fixed?

Can anybody explain strange behaviour when creating New sms? How come that if I write first few letters to "send to" field, weird combo apears - containing only email contacts instead of regular phone contacts... see picture:

It can depend somehow on Tweaks that I use, but I truly don't know... It's only my HD2, two of my frieds have this correct. Any idea? Thanks

This picture is an example for my problem, I need to see the number type
in each contact, and not only an unhelpful symbol, because as you see in some
contacts like this one, there's few people / number types in the same contact.
In stock and other cm7 based roms it shows the number type, but in Miui I saw
no option for that. Any way to make it happen ?

I have ONE number in my contact that I use regularly BUT when I want to send a msg the shows the number as 44xxxxxxxx next to the contact
its +44 in GO Contact, on the sim and in the HTC msg widget its +44
and no the number is not stored in GMail
I click details change the number but I have to do it EVERY TIME I want to send this contact an SMS msg.
any clues why
