I had this CAB for the taskbar... - General Questions and Answers

Before I did a reset, I had this software that when I touched the task bar, it would bring up a bubble that contained all the icons. It was very easy to see and adjust the volume, connectivity settings, alerts, etc. When I touched the task bar, the pop-up looked like a cartoon voice box, and the buttons to interface with the various task bar icons were large enough to work with the fingers. I don't remember the name of it, but it was very convenient. Does anybody know the software I'm talking about? This is one convenience I would very much like to restore on my Kaiser. The task bar functionality was the only thing it changed. The "comic voice bubble" was grey in the background, the selectable icons were white on grey, and it was free if that helps any. I don't remember what it was called, (or where I found it), but I liked it. What's it called, and where can I get it? Thanks for your help.

change bottom menu bar

I have HTC touch, and I downloaded an application, called pocketcm. I like this apps very much. I want to change the menu bar (bottom), so that instead of contacts, I can put in pocketcm app.
Can anyone help me out.

Finger-friendly notifications?

I am using WAD 2. I am looking for a way to display notifications in a finger-friendly way. This is for all notifications that put icons into the task (top) bar. E.g. I get an icon from my weather app when an earthquake occurs, and an icon from the mail program (not Pocket Outlook) when a new mail is received, and one from Sprite Backup when a backup completes. When multiple icons are put into the task bar, a bubble represents them all, and clicking on the bubble brings up a ribbon below the task bar that shows the individual icons. I am looking for something that duplicates the function of that ribbon, so that I can select and clear those notifications using my fingers. I could probably do it in Mortscript if I knew where in the registry to find a list of the notifications or icons. Any ideas?

Smartdial and Talk button Colors

Ok, I've seen this in some custom roms (not many) where the smartdial area and talk button are not this boring grey and green talk button. But, on older dialer's the smartdial color was just a bitmap to change it as well as the talk button. That doesn't seem to be the case now and I would like to see mods done with it or a tutorial on how to do it. Thanks.
Anyone? I have changed the smartdial04.bmp file and when I copy it to Windows, it doesn't change
Are you looking fore something like this?
I'd recommend Dinik's dailer 2.0. glassy buttons and clolored call and end keys, also beautiful in call buttons. check it out! keyboard cab is sweet too!
Thanks guys and I know of all Dinik's stuff. The area I'm talking about is the highlight where your phone numbers are (grey in color). Changing the color of that area. I've seen it on a few roms (ok, maybe one..NRGZ's) where it changed to blue. Which I know is indicated by Smartdial_04.bmp if I'm not mistaken. But, if I change that color and drop it into windows, the color of the selection bar is still unchanged.
realised i was wrong. post needs deleting

Need some slider help

I hope someone can offer me some help. I'm trying to figure the path from icon to application that the icons on the slider have. For example, the picture icon on the slider when tapped takes you to the "Photos & Videos" app and the silver circle with an arrow in the middle takes you to the "Sprint Navigation". Some icons on the slider, some that I mentioned above, when tapped, take you to a different looking version of that application versus tapping on the icons in the programs list. What I'm trying to figure out is, where or how do I find what application the icons on the slider are linked to, by path or otherwise.
On another note, do you know where I would find the location of the icons for the applications in the program list? If you could provide me with any help, I would appreciate it.
Thanks

A few ideas. What you think?

As much as I like how much thoughts that Google has put into making a better lockscreen with widgets,
I find it kinda taking up spaces and not as efficient as they thought it would be.
I always like a clean, neat looking lockscreen which Google got it on ICS. And that gave me a few ideas.
One thing that they got it right is the quick toggles pulldown. (Thank God, finally.)
And I think that is the direction they should be heading to: Pulldown panels.
Pulldown panel is one of many things that I love about Android.
It's useful and accessible anytime anywhere.
One for notification, one for quick toggles, and one for "quick widgets."
A quick complaint on the toggles:
Google, please make the tiles smaller.
And please revise it into how CM has implemented it.
One tap for on/off. Long press to go to its settings page.
Thank you.
Now, about the quick widgets.
This is what the fruit company initially and partially got it right.
This pulldown should be for weather, stock, NFL/NBA scores, current traffic, etc.
And a sync button to sync instead of having them running in background all the time consuming power.
And maybe for some ads too, like Amazon today's free app, Play today's free music tracks, etc.
And please make it interactive like notification panel. Or like the lockscreen widgets on 4.2.
Either pull it down or swipe it across to reveal more infos. Tap on it to go the full app.
These widgets are stationary, and can be added/removed in settings.
Lastly, make all pulldown panel pull-able even when there's a pin/pattern/password on lockscreen.
For privacy on notification, make it says: A has sent X messages, a missed call from B, C has X comments on your FB wall, etc.
Tap on it will prompt user to login before taking him/her to the full app.
This is another thing that the fruit company got it right.
The quick camera access is another one that Google finally got it right.
Again, fruity got it right first. (Argh!)
But please make it swipe-able back to the lockscreen. Thankyouverymuch.
Also, I hope they do some with the black status bar on lockscreen.
The lockscreen on MIUI, WP8, BB10, Sailfish looks really clean without that black bar.
Maybe they should make it transparent like MIUI.
And I hope they implement some gestures to hide the status bar + the navigation bar,
like pinch the screen from the top+bottom bezel into the screen,
so finally everything can be enjoyed in fullscreen and get some screen estate back, yet status bar + navigation bar still easily accessible.
The way CM does the hiding is not that efficient.
And save that AMOLED from burn-in.
I watched a clip of Sailfish OS. All the gesture is a bit confusing, yet it's interesting and inspiring.
