dose HTC Atlas P4351 T-mobile have a wireless device??
becouse if its, why it wont turn on.
i have this problem so many of HTC herald users.
so can any one help me on it?
dose there any other wifi application work on WM6?
Note: i have tried the registary issue it dosent work for Herald.

the problem that when i click on wifi icon starting take too long then wifi switched of
on setting>connection>(there is no wifi icon) only WLAN icon

Lol.. One of the secret Herald/Wing mysteries...
I've had my Wing for a couple of months now and am also struggling with Wifi problems... Specifically, my Wing won't connect to my home wifi network (Belkin G).. This is regardless of security, encryption or the network being visible/hidden.. I've scanned the Net... In all cases, it sees my network, goes to connect and fails (no error message given.)
In one case, after a recent ROM change, my Wing couldn't even initialize the wifi at all.. A hard reset fixed that...
Regardless, My main concern (from reading the posts here) was my Wing was one of many devices with a BAD wifi.. Since I bought it used, I would be screwed... SOOO I was able to logon to a public wifi and it worked just fine..
I'm guessing if you provide some detailed information about your device, the pros will probably be more likely to pipe up..?
Here's just an example:
HTC Wing or Herald?
Have you modified your ROM?
How is your home wifi setup? Visible/hidden, encryption (if so, what type?)
Again, just a suggestion.. As you'll see I'm a 'junior member' so.. Also, hopefully its ok to post a reply though its in the wrong section?

i dont think thats it modefied becouse its a T-mobile HTC and when it work on i saw T-mobile , plus some other extra software.
i bought the phone like that used by the way ....
still have no idea about Wifi problem
by the way a have HTC touch elf , so i know how the wifi should start

I have recently after hours of reading installed the above rom to my phone, and i like the speed of it and the design thanks Dutty.
I am new to this area and was very hesitant to try the non original roms in case i bricked my phone but I seem to have done ok, I have a few slight issues with this rom and would ask the experience of the forum members for help please understand im nieve to this rom updating.
When I start my phone i have the following rom version,
R 1.65.16.25
G 25.83.40.02W
D 3.5 Dutty's
In device info is -
Build is showing as 5.2.19588 WM6.1
Radio is 1.65.16.25
Protocol Version - 25.83.40.02W
Firstly is this the right setup?
2. Is there a faster or better rom available (Dutty's) that would be more compatible with the tytn 2?
3. Is the radio compatible with this version if not how do I change it please and to which version?
I seem to be having some minor glitches with the setup which i will go through and see if there are any fixes.
a. under comm manager I dont have the option to turn on data connection its greyed out!
b. it tries to download emails but tells me to adjust setting although i know the email ones are 100% right, this may be because of the data connection issue how do i fix?
c. There is no HSDPA tab anymore on connections
d. When i open the start menu from today screen it shows as black or fuzzy and not the list of programs and apps until i touch it with stylus pen?
e phone reception seems to be worse can this be fixed.
f. screen freezes sometimes aswell.
if anyone can assist me with these issues i would be grateful. thanks Wayne.

I am looking for something similar to what Hitchhicker is supposed to do, but without the Hitchhiker's problems on WM6. For me, it was completely unreliable, left tons of connection settings behind in the registry etc etc.
All i want is an ability to find a public/open WiFi network with internet access and connect to it in a single tap.
Any ideas ?
I use WeFi- Free and works like charm. Also can start programms after it connected.
I start Palringo (Free multi Messanger)

First report about WeFi:
It seems to erase all your normal (WZC) WiFi settings without asking, including the WEP/WPA keys. And KEEP ERASING those every start.
It would not connect to my own home WiFi (secured, WPA2+PSK, AES) despite having correct the key entered in it's dialog.
After manually connecting using the normal utility, while WeFi still running in the background, it "tested" the hostspot, and found it to have internet connectivity. After that, it reported 1 user being connected on that hot spot (me) ! What this means is, it certainly tells some of the hotspot details (SSID) to it's server. The question is, would it also share the key with every other user on the planet ? If it would, this would be completely unacceptable !!!
One positive thing about it, somehow, it managed to reconfigure the WZC on Polaris to connect to any open hotspot available (good for me), even when the program isn't running (no, i didn't forget to shut it's today plugin down). This is probably some registry setting unknown to us. I'll try fishing it out and report.
EDIT: sorry, my mistake, it didn't really reconfigure WZC, it got some processes installed, running at the background, that i missed :-(
Just in case someone may want to know this, the part of WeFi that seems to do the "auto-connect to any open network" thing, but not the internet connectivity probing, is the WeFiSrv.exe, that seems to require Comm.DLL, Engine.dll, Hessian.dll, OpenNETCF.dll, Prot.DLL, Util.dll and Win.dll to run
as well.
EDIT: WeFiSrv.exe seems to be responsible for deleting the existing "normal" WiFi settings too. As well as responsible for eating a big chunk of RAM while running.
EDIT2: same app also responsible for screwing up the settings
Conclusion: unless you are going to connect to unprotected WiFi hotspots ONLY, this program, or any parts of it, isn't really an option.
Any other suggestions ?
Device: Atom Life from Mwg running stock wm6 rom
since a few days ago every time i turn the wifi on and go into to select networks i dont get that screen anymore. like my home wifi works cuz it has the password. but i cant connect to other networks :S
This might have something to do with me deleting the profiles for wifi networks i dont use anymore. Thats the last time i saw the profiles screen.
i did this due to my ppc connecting on its own to a wifi when antena was off ..more like a pc wifi signal and that annoyed me so i poked around and deleted the profile of that network and others from past.
since then i cannot see even the wifi icon in the top bar all i see is the <-> arrows but with out the antenna in the background i.e <-I->
nor can i find that page where i deleted the network profiles from :S
where is it ?? i think it comes on only when the <-I-> is present.
is this a symptom of something?

well here is something thats interesting.
installed wefi to see if it fixes things and that Wi-fi icon has disappeared... renamed to network cards :S ( i think) whats going on am i losing settings link heh.
Still cannot connect to tother wifi's , with wefi not even my own :S lol
( might as well ask what backup software i should look into that will back up the rom as well since i feel i should go 6.1, or point me into the right direction for a tutorial to extract my own rom )

After much waiting, begging and whatnot, I got a brand new, used Qtek S100 from a friend of mine.
Now, I've been messing around with the ROMs, and got MA_DT_WWE_DutchRetail_11200_550_11200_Ship installed.
Now, what is the ROM you guys advise me to install, to better make use of my Magician?
Of course, I'd like to not have problems with Blutooth or the camera, so what is the most stable release available,
not needing to be the most recent?

I've tried out all cotulla rom releases and i think that the "HTCMAG_ROM_WWE_O3" is the best upgrade for your Magician.
of course if you wanna try windows mobile 6.5 you're gonna have to give up your camera 'cause current release of WM6.5 has its camera removed.

"Voice Call" and "SMS" don't need to be configured.
Non of these Roms supports "MMS" configuration but you can install "MMS service pack" on WWE_03, I didn't test this service pack on other roms but i think it should work as well.

I've been having troubles with my wifi connection on my htc 8x. I already did a system factory reset and hard reset; I already try reset my router, change the channel, network type, security (wep, wpa, mac filtering) and nothing helps.
Important: any wifi connection fail, work, house, street, etc. It just say: your phone couldn't reach wifi.
I found something wear at about phone. Hardware version, radio hardware version and radio software version, all 3 say version 0...

It's almost as if your firmware isn't installed at all. That's Crazy Strange, but.... Here's the info on my T-Mo 8X. Try running update maybe? I hate to say it, but you may need a Factory Reset if that doesn't work. If it's under warranty, try and do an exchange as well.

Thanks for your answer, I already did a factory reset. Update dosnt show any new available... I just wake up one day and it was broken...
