Hi,
Did you get this working, I just tried it with RSS Hub and it works just fine . Just entered the URL you mentioned as is and it simply worked. What issues are you having if any?

Its working now, anyhow, I use SPB insight.

Does anyone still use AvantGo?

I've noticed on several forums no one talks much about it anymore. I used to use with an older PPC. I was thinking of using it on my Wizard. But if there is something better, let me know. http://www.avantgo.com/frontdoor/index.html
Still using it. New version works like a charm under WM5.
What do you use it for? I use mobiReader.

Correct me if i'm wrong but mobireader is an ebook reader while AvantGo is a purveyor of internet-based content. So this is why i use it for.
When I used to use AvantGo, it was basically a prefetch of all sorts of information and websites such as Foxnews, CNN, ESPN, Movies, Sports, etc. It allowed you to get the latest information in active sync and then you can view all the information offline on your PPC. Assuming as above posted it works with WM5 now.
i prefer RSS readers nowadays...
not restricted to avantgo content sites.
Do RSS readers allow you to read offline as well? I don't know, i haven't used these types of tools before.
One advantage of Avantgo, which I used to use (on Axim X30) was upload driving maps from (mapquest.com) and sync to my PPC.

Hmm.. mobiReader does relatively the same thing too, but it runs on XML or RSS. Choices are much less I guess, but the interface and layout are nicely done. In my opinion is better than AvantGo, for news reading and stuff. But, (as my questions on the post above), if you were to consider fetching web contents to be view/refer later, will need AvantGo then.
RSS readers....
...are pretty good compliments to Avantgo, for me anyways. I would like to use Avantgo on my Universal instead of my old Axim, but hadn't had a chance to install the newest version. The previous version messed up screen layout completely. pRSSreader does cache content. So Avantgo is NOT the only caching news reader. But only certain sites, like Slashdot and metacritics, are friendly at offline content. I can never get any of the Yahoo sports to work. RSS is great for lots of funnies (like Dilbert and Peanuts) though. pRSSreader and Adobe are by far the most used apps for reading so far. pRSSreader might also be good at certain podcasts sites, like Engadget, since the podcast comes as an enclosure, but I haven't really used that feature since I only go over a slower T-Mo UK UMTS line right now, instead of WiFi.

Viigo

I had not seen a thread for this software, and had instead found it through an election 08 thread.

It's a nice RSS reader and news monitor, however I can't seem to find the options for social networking tools or package tracking. Anyone else?
Edit:
Social networking enabling: http://facebookonviigo.wordpress.com/
Package tracking is hidden. It's under Home > News & RSS. Menu > Add Channel >Useful Services > Track a Package
and you can't add it to the menu for some reason.
So, is this program good?? I need my Google Reader. My brother installed it on his BB Storm. But I was just wondering what ya'll think. Is this okay for HTC phones?
I don't know why--but when I load the download page on Opera with my Fuze, there is no download link!! HOw did you get yours installed

blah - I am having some problems setting it up. I am trying to install this great program on my new HTC Fuze (same as the htc touch pro).
My blog is http://www.politicaldisgust.com and when I try to add a new blog I get a bunch of errors including:
1) Could not synchronize blog: System error: No such host is known
Maybe I have the RPC URL incorrect. What should go in that line?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would love this to work with my blog.
‘RPC URL’ is your blog’s URL plus a ‘/xmlrpc.php’
so it would be http://www.politicaldisgust.com/xmlrpc.php most likely. Homeurl would be just the base url like http://www.politicaldisgust.com
I have used it with my wizard and windows mobile 6.1 It worked fine for me but maybe there is something keeping it from working on a newer phone. Hopefully it will be something easy to figure out and you can get it going.

[Q]RSS, auto downloading, auto push to device?

Aloha XDA!
I understand RSS but have always longed for the subscribe/download/sync feature and have never found one that will (Download the feed and then upon sync, sync with my device, particularly with feeds that have audio attached, like ESPN podcenter RSS)
Can someone lead me down the right road for a nice RSS feed system to my wm6.1 device (Fuze)?
The RSS can come to a laptop or the device, I don't mind either.
Try Viigo. Don't know if it does audio but it handles my routine RSS perfectly well. One plus for it is that you can manage your feeds from a PC based web browser. Really useful when the feed is either stupidly long or full of weird characters.
It looks like there is also one from HTC, HTC HUB. I am not sure if it downloads container files or not.
Right now I am setting up my Outlook to download all containers and perhaps I can make that folder sync with AS and Wm6.1?!
I currently use pRSSreader, which I think is the best one I have ever used. Don't know if it does what you are looking for though.
pRSS is awesome. It handles enclosures too!

[Q] NFC and QR Facebook checkin

Hello out there,
if you look at those "Ways To Use NFC Tags" guides on the Web they often say that you could use NFC Tags for Facebook checkins. But I could not find a guide how that should work. I know that in the "Trigger" App there is a Facebook places option but thats not the way I want it, because it should be compatible with all devices. Iam looking for a way to checkin by URL, printed as QR and written to a NFC Tag.
So thats how far I've come:
With the old mobile Facebook version (m.facebook.com) you can create checkin links like this one for example
-- https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=200553029958653&v=checkin --
This link opens correctly in my PCs Firefox Browser and I can leave a comment and hit Checkin. On my Android devices (htc evo 3D and htc one) it does not open the old mobile version but the newer touch version (touch.facebook.com) with a simpler version of the timeline (without the header) and no checkin option. Funny: the URL in the addressbar says m.facebook.com but its the interface and design of touch.facebook.com.
Does anybody know a working checkin URL for mobile devices? I dont need to open the native facebook app because I want it to be compatible with all devices.
Sorry if this was asked somewhere before. I could not find such a thread via the search.
Greetings, David
