After upgrading to my Raphael from the Kaiser, I was unable to use the fantastic boot images created by -888-
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=421572)
However, these images became my inspiration and actually what I based my version on.
I treat my phone like a computer, shouldn't it look like one?
After a tireless amount of work and an amazing amount of help from both Cmonex and Olipro I give you a completed Raphael fake boot bios / post screen!
You must have HardSPL on your device to flash the ROM Splash Screen
CDMA USERS BEWARE - BRICK
There seems to be some issues with compatibility with CDMA devices and the boot splash. All other graphics work fine, I will look into the issue and hopefully find a solution.
As for GSM users, all is well.
If you have HardSPL, do not worry then, as this will not hard reset your device.
With a combination of the :
The ROM Splash screen - BootSplash.nbh - which will need to be flashed to the device with RaphaelCustomRUU.exe flasher (included)
[Both files attached below in Flashall.zip]
Start Up Animation screen - animated.gif which will need to be copied to your Windows directory on your device
Either overwrite the current one there or rename mine to Animated2.gif and direct to this with Advanced Config under the HTC Animation pull down.
Start Up Microsoft and carrier splash - welcomehead.192.png - which I have created 2 different versions.
Either overwrite the current one there or rename mine to welcomehead.190.png and direct to this with Advanced Config under the SplashScreen pulldown.
one can achieve a nearly seamless realistic boot up, resembling a normal computer.
Rom Splash Screen (bootsplash.nbh)

Start Up Animation (animated.gif)
(This is made not to loop, so it will only display once in your browser, press Ctrl + F5 to check it out again)
Or go here http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/807/animatedyo8.gif and press Ctrl + F5
Start Up MS / Carrier Splash (welcomehead.192.png)
Version A shows initialization of hardware
Version B shows simple blank screen with continuous top
Version C - Same as A just with the 2nd Cmos camera taken off. This is if you have a fuze.
If you purchased the Fuze with no cameras... well then... why?
Download
To download these files you can download and unzip the flashall.zip file located in attachments.
This includes
RaphaelCustomRUU.exe - For Flashing the BootSplash.nbh
BootSplash.nbh - The image being flashed - Note: This WONT hard reset your device.
Animated.gif - The animated boot
Welcomehead.192.png - The Hardware Initializing Screen
Welcomehead.190.png - The Top bar of the boot *renamed*
To Install
Either download attachments and move to /windows
or
Download CABs here
Download Fuze CAB here
Thank you dharvey4651 and K-Semler for graciously creating multiple CABs
After the files are in /windows by either copying or installing through provided CABs
flash the Bootsplash by syncing device through active sync and running the RaphaelCustomRUU.exe
I have spent quite a bit of time on this and I hope you all like them.
Any comments, suggestions and most importantly errors, please feel free to post them!
I hope to edit these and make them perfect.
Notes:
I realize that by the time my Postscreen says the services are loaded, they have long since loaded, however this is all just for fun and appearances.
Bugs:
If you experience any choppy animation, try changing your gif speed. With either Advanced Config under the HTC Animation pull down or registry editor under HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation\. Try ranging the number around, 50, 75, 100.
Seems to strangely vary by the rom. I personally run gif speed 75, however I am told 100 is a good number for ROMeOS.
More Thanks:
Kewlj1313 - To help me go through with it
Julien Schapman - For Advanced Config
Olipro - Again for all the help, but this time for NBHUtil as well
Cmonex - For all the tips and pointers
-888- - For the great idea and inspiration

very nice they're on my raphael now
You can tell you spent some time on it. Good work.
Absolutely lovely !
Came out great, good work, very impressive and flashy, can't wait to rub it in the face of my friends with their crap Iphones hmhmhm
Kewlj1313
So I take it the phone must be unlocked first?
Looks awesome I love it. Great work
You would need HardSPL on your Raph to do this
Kewlj1313
nice i'll have to use this the next time i flash my phone
Fantastic! Splendid!
Now my Raph has a POST of it's own
LOL
Thank you.
Cheers.
good work Scrtcwlvl! me likey-likey
Wow very impressive. I might just try these out. Maybe even keep them
Just one question. Will flashing the boot screen cause my device to hard-reset or is it like flashing a Radio ROM in that it does not hard reset?

+1 for this as well. i wouldn't think you need a hard reset, as you said... but a shame if you need to!

Do not worry, it wont hard reset your device. It will simply overwrite the splash [the image shown when you first turn on your phone] currently on your device.
Thanks for all the nice words, I'm glad you all like it.
Thanks again to Olipro and Cmonex for the help in its creation.
Hello,
NOD32 is reporting this as a trojan, anyone else getting the same message?
"Flashall\RaphaelCustomRUU.exe probably a variant of Win32/TrojanDropper.Agent trojan cleaned by deleting - quarantine"
A common false positive generated by antivirus programs.
Compare results with http://www.virustotal.com/
It is documented that antivirus programs do not seem to like the RUU.exe, however it is perfectly fine.
Made a zip file of with everything.
Included:
ruu_signed.nbh with raphaelwrapper.exe(first splash screen)
Fake BIOS Boot Screen1.cab
(contains the following image for second splash)
Fake BIOS Boot Screen2.cab
(Contains the following splash)
Both cab files contain the start up animation as well.
Here's the zip:
Thank you dharvey4651
I had planned to try and figure out how to make a CAB for this eventually but you saved me some work.

Your welcome. If I may make a suggestion, notate near the screenshots which cab file includes which image. Also make sure to mention that it includes the animation as well.
Looks cool, I may have to try it out.
2 questions though: Why do you list the version as v6.00 and year as 1997? Shouldn't it be v6.10 and 2008? The 1997 would make people think my WinMo OS is way more old and archaic then it already is.
Secondary CMOS camera? I don't have it
Thanks for your work.
Ah, sorry about that, I never did get around to making a fuze version of that. Ironically, I have a fuze
I've attached the fuze version and added it to the first post.
As for why I went with 6.0, that was simply an arbitrary number to be honest. I did not even make the mental connection with wm6. As for the year, that was based on the creation of HTC.

You will not find a more vanilla kitchen than this, There are NO OEMAPPS (besides DeviceInfo, Backlight, etc)
No Camera, No MMS,etc.
I felt this would be better for a kitchen since you can add EXACTLY what you want.
You must leave OEMDrivers contents as it is, unfortunately due to lack of space in the memorymap
I had to convert all modules to files since many were too large and overlapped important OS files.
As I said before I might take a second look at this soon.

And the kitchen size is: 66.6 Mb
Nice touch..
Now, if we keep getting these type of releases, we need to get unified packages. Things like stripped down camera and such without all the extra BS. Packages that will work on all kitchens and releases.
Yep I can do that too
But there are many shared HTC dlls used by more than one app, e.g camera and streamer.
I'll see what I can do.
ok bro, maybe you will save our times if you did something for us, if you rebuild that without including 15342 files, let us test many of choices.
we hope to know what did you do exactly to know if it logical or not, please
BTW, downloading now to test. tnx
its right:
I'm not sure you actually understand how/what goes into a ROM and why you can only alter certain parts.
Without 15341/2 components you would have:
No Kernel (The elf kernel is close, but not close enough)
No Drivers
You cannot just swap BSP components between builds without alot of problems.
If you actually look at .318, .968 and .1413 for Wizard, They share EXACTLY the same Drivers (Maybe some have been rebased, but the code is still identical).
I do not see what you are trying to achieve by creating some (even more so) mongrel build.
Thanks whiterat, flashing now with just the os to see where i need to begin on the work. LOL. Hopefully not much. I already went through your Regfix file. Looks pretty complete to me. We will see. LOL. Love ya man!!!

sorry but i hate an issue which is done by 15342, call somebody if his line is busy, then the device will show connected for 1-2 seconds then call ended, which means there is something wrong with some of 15342 dll's.
i will start working with this one, tnx.
One other thing is that OneNote Mobile is not in the rom. I will try and work on this.
you integrated HTC home on the same base rom, some people don't like that, so please do a really vanilla for this.
issues:
- Office apps. don't working
- If you missed a call when you are calling will counted as answered
ah wow thanks for the heads up on Office, I hadnt noticed.
btw, PLEASE STOP WITH THIS BUSY CALL SH!T! It cant be fixed - THE END.

this thing duplicate many times, so i think many know that.
i can't know where is exactly the issue, but if this thing on the same base rom, you will never solve it.
i will try to explain more with my experiments with all base roms
why is there so few program memory if anything is installed???
This (I would imagine) is due to the fact all drivers are loaded into memory instead of into their allocated memory map - This is an ongoing problem that can and will be sorted, it just requires a bit of time.
lets build the future =]
Ok, so i was able to build a few apps into this, the only issue I have now is the Camera 3.00 from the package i used to build my Jaguar2 build gets an error that its not signed, anyone remember how to fix that?
The not signed error is the same as "you are missing files" error.
I updated SecurityOff when I released this to disable ALL requirements for signining, etc so you are simply missing a file
---------
two roms. not for all, though...
i am thinking about new release...unimportant for most.
--------------
name it as 4.0.0.0 old rom experiment that driven me for 3 months.. it is old 5.2.1413 ROM, tweaked and modified..
there's no EXTrom, splash, radio parts in 'em. everything you can see on screens is inside ROM(OS file)....
4mb pp both, address $378556 , 4.5 mb may be optimal.
1/5 of soft is installed from cabs while autorun process(freq. updated soft, autorun may be cancelled by softreset after calibration) , most is builtin(in rom).
things to be considered:
- "today time out" should be turned off(it may save battery...) - /menu start/settings/today .
- clock visible everywhere - /menu start/settings/system/clock&alarms tab "more".
- /menu start/programs/xo/install/ contains all cabs used in autorun process, and more cabs(universal useful freeware).
- "fat" rom has pocketage and today agenda plugins - worth to check.

Sir Nothin
SIR NOTHIN,
1. Thank you for your work.
2. Is this ROM based on Mun_Rus 4.0.0. ? That was (is) the best ROM, if you cleared and completed ( PIE was not working), it will be the best ROM, with a huge memory, what I need because of using IGO.
3. I waiting for the links.
hello
This looks like a very GOOD ROM can't wait for the links to come out. anyway, a little sugestion, instead of pBar, could you (also) put the WKtask task manager ? i find it the best freeware task manager there is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=330855
thank you for all your hard work maby you'll beat it's right's ROM
Paradox
@nothin...
This rom has caught my eye!...I would very much like to try out this rom.
At the least, I would like to be a beta tester if nothin doesn't want to release it to the masses yet.
Count me in!
i am working on release, clean version will be uploaded very soon(erm..few hours), i decided to add gsgetfile and tgetfile dlls, need to check upxed dlls too.
loaded version needs some localisation registry removal, and few dlls restoration. there is potential problem with WakeUp program - must check this one too.
nothing serious, not much time, tho....

this is funny part;
if you look on loaded rom screen you may see, that wktask is there too, v 1.0.0.7 - as cab to manual installation - pbar is loaded by startup -it is smallest most stable method i found, but i left wktask as alternative - now by removing pbar's shortcut from /startup all you need to do is to install wktask from cab.
why cab?
answer is simple:
every serious program, that may have near update is left as cab in /menu start/xo/install/ dir. some of them are preinstalled on autorun process.
these are possible to install/uninstall(list may change, though):
,
i.e. batterystatus is good thing to be uninstalled sometimes(i.e. before update), this is method for doing this.
another example: you got newer java? no problem, uninstall old one(cab is still in rom though, just in case), install newer one,
etc etc.
maybe i am strange, but i think it is good idea(i had space, so why not..)...
maby you'll beat it's right's ROM

erm, this is not my intention..
second thing - without anichillus, its right, mr.frazz, double_ofour work(and many more people, in general) these couldn't be done...i drilled what i found.
btw, i loved anichillus xplore - so this one is some kind of oldschool line continuation.
I am waiting for the links ...
morning'
good morning to you all nothin, when are you going to resease these roms ? couse i can;t wait to test them. thanks
Throw in the HTC Home Plugin with 6 tabs and I think you have yourself a party!
it may be not easy with "fat" one - there's ~200 kb free space left...
dont putin anything just upload it as it is.
HTC Home Plugin
Anybody know how to add the plugin manually after the OS is installed? I can never seem to find a working version (the one that lets you customize it from the Today options). I've tried several different cabs floating around and they are nothing but problems.

That's a negative, Sir. Already have that one and it doesn't show up on the Today screen when it's enabled. The one from the OCTAIVOI ROMs works really well, and it's in color. I think it's listed as HTC Touch UI HOME v1.5 B62 or something like that. But thank you for your help thus far. I'm no n00b but it seems that people used to want to help others more in this forum (like yourself ). However, the trend I'm seeing shows otherwise. Thank you again for your kindness.
Can't wait to try new ROM!
I didn't want you to think that I was hijacking this thread for the HTC Home Plugin. I'm really anxious to try your ROM when you release it. Sounds like it's gonna be the most complete. Keep up the good work and rock on!

please load up at least the base one .

I'm not quite sure if this qualifies as assisting in development, but it doesn't boot up on my Tilt. My phone info is in my Signature. FYI: The last line of the android boot sequence before it stops doing anything is ''[ 9.438352] init: untracked pid 498 exited". Not sure if that is any use to you though. There are also A LOT of "I/O errors" on the boot up. Thanks for the android, I look forward to having android on my Tilt. Thanks,

HI,
I'm using PDA Corner and Radio 1.65.24.36 on my Kaiser (just flashed) and the data from the dl-link posted in post #1.

I really dont understand why you made a new thread...... In the old thread numerous people asked to sticky the thread. This didnt happen and now all of a sudden this new thread should be sticky......??? I think one thread should be enough. that's my 2 cents!

To be clear - the main reason for starting a new thread was to be able to have someone who is still involved able to edit the first post & give a summary on the current progress. This prevents consistent "stupid questions" (more like lazy questions) for those who don't feel like reading the whole thread. Although, I think this time, we should have a link to an xda hosted wiki posted in the first post(like the one they have for the raphael) to have all the info, and that will limit the spam within the post.
Here is a link to the wiki - lets get it done: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=RunAndroidOnKaiser
Use raphael wiki as a template: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=RaphaelLinux
Also Please moderate
Please delete "lazy questions", or in fact, any questions that should be placed in the other thread.
That is the other problem with the other thread, and a self breeding problem, the more posts by people who don't read, the harder it is to find the relevant info, and more people don't read.
Please, delete this post and my previous one included.
Thanks

I can't remember off the top of my head but its one of the buttons on the phone that unlocks it. Maybe the internet explorer or message button. But try all 8. It worked no problem for me.

Seems that the people that are working on it from the beginning in the orginal thread arent interested in it.
Myself am just following the Vogue and Kaiser thread as those two have a lot in common.
just my 2 cents...
seems to be the case, oh well.
I've been reading over the massive thread, and just found this...
the last android I've put on my kaiser was the old 0.8 stuff from over the summer... I'm interested in this new stuff.
I am a programmer with much linux experience (I wrote an init system for my distro...) but I have no real driver experience ( I know how a computer works on the low-level, but I've never done the software to interface it...)
Anyway, I'd really like to help out - is there a unified place to find what needs to be done, etc.?
just repartitioned my sd card and flashed the good radio... I'll play with this stuff now
the unified place should be this wiki http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=RunAndroidOnKaiser

Doesn't the patched version (from Jade) not display certain items on the Home tab? I noticed on the screenshots provided that it shows quite a bit of detail on the Home tab with the original version, but hearing reports that with the patched version it does not?
Thanks guys. I will try the patched version as suggested. I will unclear why there was a 6.1 and a 6.5 version but no worries.
What the hell :S, ive installed ezinput from the mega, then it asks me to restart, and now my phone hangs at the radio initalization screen and it won't boot into windows mobile anymore :S, now I have to Hard reset my device. So let this be a warning for all of you

The warning is that this is all brand new software from a phone that isn't even out yet , posted so that people can try it out on devices that it was not even meant for.
C'mon use your head . What were you expecting ? WM 7 from Microsoft.? If you are going to hang around here, Backup...backup.......backup everyday and be prepared to hard reset anytime and always. Or else don't try beta software that is meant for another phone. Simple
By the way, the new Manila works great on my phone, except for the weather tab, ( doesn't work at all ) as far as I can see, it is just a cosmetic upgrade ( new theme that's all ) and not worth the effort.
My 2 cents,
Im just telling everyone about my experience of this software, I'm not asking for an opinion. Its just an warning and nothing else. Im not expecting anything.
The packages have just leaked around so they are expected to have errors. I tried this bunch today and have Manilla, EZ Input, Menu Enhancement (pretty good) and Notification Enhancement run smoothly. However, until now, I still can't get the dependencies of Manilla (the remain only need Shared and Framework, I think).
Album and Audio Manager run ridiculously .
P/S: I cooked into ROM.

Sorry if I somehow offended you. You were the one acting all shocked and surprised, that this beta software, not meant for your phone was not running perfectly

I was merely pointing out to everyone ,that if you are going to experiment with software and packages from another phone, then don't be shocked and irritated when it crashes your phone.
lol, looks like someone forget "use at your own risk". I normally stuck at boot screen of windows when cooking. Be patience
sorry for DP.
I tried Camera package lonely, it acted nothing. However, when I cook both 5.04 and this new version of camera, I got new version worked.
New version take picture really fast but the screen preview is set to highest zoom level by default. Maybe some dlls from 5.0.4 do the trick.
Just let you guys know this

It isnt very logical when you install simple keyboard software and your phone stops working right? I was not offended but I just felt like warning all of you, so that nobody screws his device also. Lets go on-topic now!

Hmmm interesting...you didnt get a line in the top? I might try that tommorow!
I will release apache roms for the newer leaked windows mobile builds. Please post back to:
* comment on rom
* give feedback
* give suggestions
* request a different bootloader and/or carrier (I will be using 1.04/Verizon for now)
* Answer the following questions:
How much storage/program memory is available?
Does your sd card work? (Don't worry-There's just a small chance of it not working-testing same build right now, sd card is fine.)
ROM #1 SimzzROM 2.4: wm6.5.3.3 28205 Verizon bootloader 1.04, 1.00
Includes camera, googlemaps, s2u2, s2p, various skins(keyboard, calc, etc.), wm office, wm games
Please note that to CLOSE a task, tap X and to MINIMIZE a task, hold X.
Use at your own risk! This rom was not tested by me. The following are Verizon.
Download: bootloader 1.04
Download: bootloader 1.00
Thank Simzz! I will download to test
Could you post bootloader 1.00/ Verizon?

Done. Check first post.
If there is 15+ MB of program memory and 25+ MB storage memory, I would recommend trying out manila 2d. Someone post back if the memory is okay. Manila 2d works fine on mine with build 28014, so I'll post links to the cabs later. (If memory's alright.)
Word.
simzz!
I don't know why you're doing this man, but it's so awesome of you.
I'm new to the whole concept, but here's what I've got, and what I think I want...
HTC Apache, bootloader 2.02, Verizon is my carrier. Wanting either WM 6.1 or 6.5 relatively pimped.
I have no idea what the Manila business is - assuming it's a suite of apps for WM devices...
I would be happy with any rom that would run on my phone and free me of this pitiful WM5 situation.
I just have NO IDEA what apps would be good/useful.
Something to clean up the file system. Some way to navigate the files better. A decent media player?
I just don't know. Something barebones would be a good start, if I can just install .cabs on my own, but I would trust you to know what apps are good to go.
Please, thank you and AWESOME.
Word
(P.S. What's the best way to save my contacts/texts before flashing - can't get Micro$ucks activsync to work...?)

Rom coming soon...
I will include tcpmp(media player), pim backup, cleartemp, main windows mobile (office, solitaire), and a couple others. I will use build 21882, if you want I can cook one later that looks like this. (build 28205)

For contacts/text try PIM Backup
Manila is an interface/today screen plugin for your pocket pc. Looks like this.
I'll put cabs up later if you want it.
Damn, son, that was quick
Prompt.
Not to discourage, but what is your motivation, aside from selflessness and the desire to learn? Are you getting donations?
I've read through several of the recent threads you've contributed to, and I'm confident that you will do a smashing job, and I just don't know how to thank you enough. I saw the post with the stuff for manila. Nothing was quite self-explanatory about it.
Thanks for clarifying.
Your help is tremendously appreciated, as just about every rom I've tried to download and even most of the stuff from PPCgeeks that I think I need for the kitchen to cook my own has been DEAD.
Again, thanks a million for the upcoming rom, and the PIM backup suggestion.
Peas
Here you go
http://www.filedropper.com/202-verizon-21882
I could have either not compressed it, compressed with xpr, or compressed with lzx. Lzx lets you put the most into a rom, no compression gives the most program memory. I chose xpr(mix between both). I may have tried to fit a little to much into the rom, but I think it'll be fine.

Yeah I have 20 MB program memory and 35 MB storage. If you could post links to some cabs that would be awesome.
Please check out this page. Extras, tweaks, skins, fixes available. Thanks to Whitealien and Mbarvian.

Preyz Jebus!
You are SO the man.
My first flashing experience went perfectly well.
I can't thank you enough.
Smooth awesomeness.
Something happened to some of my texts during PIMbackup restore, but no big deal, my contacts are straight...
Still exploring apps and whatnot, and my SD card hasn't arrived yet, so I'm limited in what I can do so far, but I must say, it's very responsive and smooth! Such a dramatic improvement over the WM5 that was on the device when I got it.
Any advice on getting linux to boot this crazy thing?
THANK YOU!
try this

Death of the link
Thanks for the suggestion, but the link to the image is down. I encounter that frequently with everything about this device.
I'm absolutely loving the rom you cooked for me.
Now I want to cook one up myself, definitely more of a minimal rom with less stuff I won't use.
How about the battery meter being visible somewhere?
Anyway, I'm off to get my kitchen set up... if the files are still available...
PEACE!
About the Kitchen files...
I only have limited swathes of time to d/l this stuff (no steady internet), and several of the files are quite large, especially the ones that are named for a dimensional size (480x800, 240x320, 480x640)...
So which of these are necessary, and which can I do without? Once I begin the download process, it seems to be building a text file in a temp directory, which can't be resumed if interrupted... so I'd like to limit myself to files that I need for the Apache.
Any advice on that?
I should probably be posting this somewhere else...
run updater (check start menu) and select:
240x320 oem
common oem
Then either the whole apache subdirectory, or these:
apache carriers
apache core
apache drivers
any builds you want.

I will be moving my roms over to my new site. There is a forum there for questions, or anything else. Download links to the roms will be provided there.
