Hi guys, I have one little question.
I have downloaded a decoder that enables me to play aac files on WMP, but when I select update library, it doesn't add them(BTW the files are in a m4a wrapper). Is it possible to edit the library manually or to make WMP automatically detect the files as music files?
Thanks

Hi all,
I'm trying to create or to copy my playlist from the computer to my Magician, but I couldn't! I don't know how to do it.
If I copy the .WPL from my PC to Magician, it doesn't open. When I'm using the Pocket Microsoft Media Player 10, my library have a lists of Playlists, but it's always empty and I don't know how to create one.
Can anyone help me please?
The playlists hold a definitive list of where a file is stored. If you have the stuff in "my music" then the files will be in c:\Documents And Settins\ (Username)\My Documents\My Music, and as such all files in the playlist will be listed in this location, and as this location does not exist in the device, it cannot find the files. You also need to copy the actual music files across, not just the wma files (Music files are mp3, wma, etc.)
If you want to use the device as an MP3 player, you should really get a storage card to store the music on.

I think you got me wrong. I already have a Storage Card and about 100 WMA files. The Library on MP is OK, but I have no Customized Playlists. That's what I want.
Got it?
Thanks!
Ok as to making playlists in Pocket Windows Media Player, i have no idea. i just had a look at my universal and i cant see the option.
Hoiwever, in the program that i use instead of WMP (Pocket music from pocketmind.com), you can make, view and edit playlist easily, plus it has a nice today screen plugin.
so one can not make new playlists in windows media player
The Pocket PC version of Windows Media Player does not allow you to create or edit playlists. But there is a freeware program for it!

Thank you very much.
I am now converting my videos to mp4 format which plays great in my Touch HD's Windows Media Player Mobile. However, the videos don't show in the library - I have to hunt through menus to find File Open etc...
Is there a reg key or something I can do to make the mp4 files show up in the WMP "library" (which appears to only show WMV files by default)
hanks
Under
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\
Name:
MediaPlayerSupportFilter
String:
.wma;.wmv;.mpeg;.mpg;.asf;.qcp;.mp4
=)
greets
I tried that but mp4 still don't show in the library. I suspect there is a library manager that searches for media and populates the library...not sure if that's the same as the reg key I justed editted...
On my Blackstone it works.
Strange
After "refresh the library" the *.mp4 Video is in the Library
I had an extra semicolon ( on the end of .mp4 so I tried removing that, and then soft resetting.
Still the same result (even after a library update). My media player library only sees the wmv files on my PPC...not the mp4 files. Are you sure there is nothing else you changed?
I store my mp4 file under \storage card\videos
Is that where yours are?
I want to use the HTC music player to play my podcasts via BeyondPod. BeyondPod's internal player is set to Windows Media Player. You can change this to 'external' in which case BeyondPod uses whatever player is associated with the file format.
I presume there's a Windows registry setting that I need to change. Can someone point me in the right direction and also tell me what the HTC player exe is called and where it is?
Thanks
So basically it appears that while Android itself supports M4A (If I browse to the file with My Files and play it, it'll play with Sound Player), the Media Player App does not see these files.
This is crazy as even Samsung's own specs state the Media Player should play these files: http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa...ID=2&PROD_SUB_ID=557&PROD_ID=558&AT_ID=304018
Why, and how can I work around this?
Music player won't see anything until Media scanning founds it. Music player uses media library, not files and folders, to locate music files. Currently, only media scanning tool updates the media library in addition to Media Player USB mode.
So, how do you get your m4a file to the phone? There are three ways to trigger media scanning:
1. Power up the phone
2. Use USB Mass Storage mode and when you unmount or disconnect USB drive
3. Use an app to manually trigger media scanning.
Triggering media scanning isn't my problem... After I transfer the M4A to my phone and turn off USB Storage Mode it'll kick off.
That said, for anyone that needs to do this...
Get the Media Monkey Trial (or buy it, it's a great freaking software that'll tag everything, rename files, etc). Add a column for "type", and sort by type. This will group all your mp4, aac, mp3, etc together. Select all your mp4 and anything else you want to convert and under the tools menu there is options to convert to a different format (mp3).
I just did this.
Or just rename the file extension to .mp3 works most of the time.

We regret to inform you that the playlist feature is unavailable at the moment. However, you can select the folders and files and start the playback from the menu or top bar to selectively play the files. Hope this information helps you.
