WM5 startup screen

I found the image ms_screen320.png that I thought was the start up screen, looks the same, the green BG with D.P.T. and windows logo on it. I wanted to change it so I replaced it with my own image I made, same name, same png file. But it still shows the old one when I start up. in the same folder (windows) there is one titled ms_splash.png that is the other screen orientation (not lanscape). Does anyone know if changing that one will do it? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
*edit*
didn't change it, same start upscreen
hi, if u replace HTC_LogoImg_320x240 it will change the shout down screen and start up screen but the start up screen will be changed only after the orginal splash anyway.
in ur case the start up and shut down screen my be different you can check them by looking in registry here
HKEY_local_machine/system/shoutdown or startup - it give you the name of the files.
let me know if u managed to change it !
cudo
That points towards oemstartup.dll on start and shutdown. I don't see anything about an image at all. I don't have HTC_LogoImg_320x240 so it must not be on the dash. i wonder if its just one of those things that can't be changed..

What are you looking for?
A skin for Windows Mobile so that your taskbar looks more "Point-UI-ish"?
A skin for S2U2? (You would know what S2U2 is, if you wanted that skined)
Or do you want to change your skin in Point-UI?
Be clearer, next time, u newb!! lol. Just describe what you want, and then I can help you.
I've done this on another persons Wing. A bit complicated to get the theme working since the instructions aren't good. But if I remember correctly, after you've installed it, don't have it displayed on your start menu. Un-check it. Download your preferred theme. Make sure it's QVGA or WQVGA, NOT VGA or WVGA! Then you have to copy and paste those files (or file) in the themes folder, located in program files or documents, not sure as I did this for someone else but try that. Then fire-up Point-UI and go to the theme manager to select your theme.

How much of the 6.5 start menu can be customized?

I know the background of the start menu can be changed by:
1) changing the phones wallpaper like normal
OR
2) replacing the startmenu_background_screen_"resolution".png from within the windows folder.
The second is only if you want a different wallpaper in your start menu to the rest of your phone. (the default file is just a transparent .png which shows your normal wallpaper underneath)
I know you can also change the folder icons, by changing around other png files in the window folder.
My question is how can you change the font style or more importantly the colour?
Also, is it possible to change it so it resembles the wm6.1 start menu instead of the honeycomb?
(please dont say "just use a 6.1 ROM" because i dont want to. lol. I like wm6.5 as its quicker and more finger friendly, i just want the old start menu back)
no one know how to do these things?
anyone?
PLEASE?
im desperate here
lolz
As much or as little as you wish.
Have a look at some of the stuff I posted in here :-

Should answer a few of the basics.
Thanks for your reply, but those replies are about the today screen. I dont even use titanium any more. I find M2D more useful.
What i want to know is how to edit the Start menu.
the list of programs shown as hexagon icons
I want to change it to like how it was on wm6.1.
Just a grid of icons with words on a white background
OK, I have got what you are after... sounds like a registry hack somewhere....
Unfortunately the holiday(UK)/vacation(US), season is upon us, and I may not have found the solution for a week or two. If and when I do, I'll post it here and send you a PM.
Thank you.
Its appreciated

I second this question. And what I want is better not the 'grid view'.
Better we have a registry tweak way, so that we can make a HoneyComb Toggle.
In some cases when I want more RAM, it's better to shutdown the honeycomb and the titanium today plugin.
So another question is do we have a tool to toggle the titanium? Like we can do to M2D? I know we can do it through today settings, but I'm looking for a way like regitweak or mortscript, so that I can use a shortcut to map it to a hardware button, do it within one touch.
[Edit: Got some sence for the half of first question from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509160&highlight=start+menu
Seems the WM6.5 honeycomb start menu is an executable called shell32.exe. If so we can shut it down with a powerful task manager like DotFred's TaskMgr.exe or let it show up in the htc task manager by registry tweak and kill it. Will report it back after I test it next week. Or anybody can test it right now?
But the first question still need an answer.
Edit3: So what is the process or service of the WM6.1 start menu ? (for that I think it's not an exe) This may help to answer the question of how to resemble old start menu back.
And then what is titanium? An exe, a process or a service? Got a name?]
Thanks for any help.
there isnt!
there isnt a way to back to 6.1 start menu...
but you can use the Qucik menu that is a lil same... but you need to leave blank the cpr file for grid scene on your windows folder... then use the Quick menu that Utaker post on devs and hack forum just search with this exact words " Quickmenu instead honeycomb" you may get all the answer you need there... Oh and the honey comb can be modded in maaaany ways just search all over the devs a nd hack sections
thanks bye.

lockscreen (bottom slider)

i downloaded this cab... i honestly forgot which thread i downloaded it from.. (there are numerous ones).. but the cab file name is "Lockscreen with bottom slider"... and pretty much... it works flawlessly.. but the problem is.. it leaves the date and time portion a little too big... is there a way to change the text size (for the time?)
it looks rather unappealing because it is not "centered" properly.. any help??
if someone can guide me as to how to post a screen shot... i would gladly post one.. but hopefully someone right off the bat knows what i'm talking about.
perhaps even if someone can point me in the right direction towards the registry.... i wouldn't be afraid to play around with it... (carefully of course!) but yea.. i just need to know where to look exactly..
\windows\LockScreen\LS_LockScreen_480x800.cpr
i think that's the file you need to modify. good luck.
actually i'm a little too scared... i just came to the conclusion that i dont want to mess with the size.. the only thing that is off which i believe can be easily removed is the "am and "pm" right next to the clock... if it wasn't there then i think the whole lock screen would look fabulous.. soooo any suggestions to get me started? or perhaps someone will go as far as walking me through it... there has to be a registry edit which removes the am or pm in the lock screen clock.. help please

i believe the easiest way is to edit the .cpr file
If you still have the cab, open it with a cab manager, and extract the cpr file
Edit the file with a text editor, should be pretty easy to do

[Q] How to change icon manually?

Hi everybody,
I know this is a stupid question and out there are many threads about how to change the icons exct...

So, I have to change just 1 icon only in Settings/System folder, I used already uComber and JWMD Icon Changer v3.1b but no 1 ot them see the icon of the application, basically the ugly icon of SRS WOW HD Equalizer I can't change it. Enyone who have SRS know the icon is ugly but the program is amazing. But I really wanto to change that icon.
Is the last thing to make my rom looking well.
Someone said it's possible vie Registry but i am not sure about that because I am not into that section, but I can do it if someone explain to me how.
How can I change that icon?

do you see the icon of WOW HD Settings? That's the icon which I can't change and I do not understand why!
If you can not see it in JWD then you will need hunt it in the registry & link a PNG file to it.
Have a look at this thread to help pin it down in registry:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6188525&postcount=1
If you have problems finding it you could export & upload parts of the registry tree for us to help.
Other option if you have installed srsWOW via cab is to edit cab/exe icons prior to install.
*JWD tip: some icons show as default JWD paint pallet & no text so you got to guess what they are ! have another good look ...

I am here and I can't understand HOW make a link to a PNG file. The PNG file is already in Windows forlder and the name is equalizer007.png.
I opened SRSPanel.cpl,0 and was only 1 link of some "Group" empty, so I delete it and I make this link "Icon"="\\Windows\\equalizer007.png" but is not working or i did in wrong way. I don't know, on the thread is not exactly clear how to do it.
See the pic.
