Indian HTC Home Weather users please help! - General Questions and Answers

Hi!
Am in Goa at the moment and want to use the Weather part of HTC Home... yet I cannot find any of the major cities for the state of Goa listed in the HTC Home Weather settings.
There are many Indian cities shown (including Mumbai, where I was last week), yet I do not know which one to use for Goa; not even the capital of Goa is on the list!
Can any Indian users check the HTC Home Weather city list and tell me which city is closest to Calangute, or anywhere in Goa?
I promise that doing so will positively increase your karma
/me having fun in sunny Goa (32 deg C all week!)

Turns out there is a standalone app that lets one add custom weather entries...
http://electrogeek.com/blog/2008/04/10/free-htc-home-customizer-for-wm6/
Goan' to try it now!

Unfortunately even after using the editing app, the info is still not found.
No reason why, and the devs are quiet.
Anyone here use HTC Home weather in Goa?

what are peoples poisons ?
how many are free?
personaly i find the only show 1 days weather like the default touch plugin seem to do kinda useless unless you work underground and cant look out the window
it's what tomorrow and the day after brings that i wanna know about
SPB Weather is the one I have gone back to time and time again, although saying that I don't currently use it.
The problem I find is that whatever it says changes from morning to afternoon since weather is so unpredictable.
Now I simply use weather plugins on www.google.com/ig and view that on Opera.
I'm still using PocketWeather with the radar images configured on my Today Screen. I have two images for each city -- one regional and one local so I know what's coming during the day and how long it will take for anything showing on the regional radar to get here. I also have it set to update weather conditions and radar images every 15 minutes so the info is always up-to-date. . . wouldn't leave home without it.

Beautiful weather app for HD2

I have found a weather application for the HD2 that far exceeds the Sense UI weather tab and/or Ageye G-Weather. It's called Touch Weather from MobilityFlow (http://www.touch-weather.com/download-cab/).
It gives you a seven days weather forecast with weather screens of morning/noon/evening and night. Swiping up or down changes the time of day. Swiping from right to left changes the day. It has lots of applicable settings and also shows you the humidity factor, the amount of rain/snow, the temperature of the rain, etc , etc, etc. All in all a beautiful weather app that has a trial version for 15 days of the Pro version. The costs aftere that time is ONLY $5!!

383 views and no reactions yet? This program is realy awesome.
This app is already known and I think it's primarily aimed at people who don't have Sense UI on their phone. No need for an app when you already have all the info on your homescreen.
Still nice though.

I do not entirely agree with you on that. Touch Weather gives you far more information then Sense UI weather. You can swipe the screen up and down to see the forecasts from noon until night and from right to left to see an entire week. It als gives you the amount of rain that is to be exprected and the humidity facto and so on.
True, $5 is a bargain I have to say.

Second that, certainly compared to G-Weather which costs 9.99 Euro. And there is also a possibility to get Touch Weather for free by posting to them suggestions for optimization of the program, etc.
o man i love this program
when i last hard rest my HD2 i did not accept the weather settings so now i have a nice clean home tab, nice transparent taskbars etc etc and no weather
with this app i got an even better weather app in return without the homescreen polution
THANNNNKS for the tip
My main concern with this would be that two different weather services will often supply different weather forecasts. Dumb, I know, but it's true. So I'd have one set of weather conditions on my home page, on the clock, and a different one when I run that app.
It makes a lot more sense to only have 1 application, and unless you can tie this app into the home page then I won't be even vaguely interested.
For ppl in sweden and norway, the weatherforecasts by accuweather are pointless, they are incorrect - plain and simple. Accuweather also serves incorrect time-info so that I can see a moon at like 10am
So: Accuweather sucks.
I agree with johncmolyneux, I'm not really interested in any weatherapp as long as i cant pin it to the weatherservice in Sense. I did buy G-Weather though, for my other device (TD2) where I disabled Sense...
AFAIN, Sense UI weather uses AccuWeather. With Touch weather you can choose between AccuWeather, GisMeteo and Intellicast, so you will be able to make the settings of Touch Weather compatible with the Sense UI, though with a lot more options and information than SenseUI weather.

In that case, I'll give it a go then. Thanks
And with Co0kie's home tab, I can link the weather icon on the clock into this application and just get rid of the weather tab.
its nice
but users who have sense ui dont need that

the accuweather setting is only for the US because that's the popular database used there... and i must say, that's what works. Other servers i've seen in weather apps work terribly for the US. So what sucks for you doesn't suck for others
Besides, there are two other servers to choose from in touch weather settings. Have you tried those for Norway and Sweden?

Works fine for me when in Sweden...
It's nice but does anyone else thinks their sun looks weird or is it just me?
Hello, I use this program since its release and helped in the translation into Spanish, the truth is in continuous development and extension, it is true that the time varies greatly depending on the server, but this provided more servers and its optimization.
My personal opinon is that it is a great program.
Sorry for my bad English writing
the best weather for windows is this, it has everything, it use weather.com , huminty, hour by hour, what you need, and you have two sources to compare, pocket whether.... enjoy, is not free, but good things you have to pay for......

HTC Weather addins

I feel like I searched everywhere! On my TP2 with MSMobile, there was an addin for more weather locations for the Weather Theme. I found one link to directions for the Android saying if you press the add locations/search you can get gmaps to come up and select from there, but it won't work on the Incredible. Anyone know how?
By the way, this thing is amazing! Too bad it's not Global!
Yeah on my old Hero if I pressed search Google maps would come up, but on the Incredible nothing. I'm guessing this is a small bug that will get fixed in a future update. If anyone knows of a fix please let me know.
Hit the weather part of the screen under the clock and it will take you to weather just like the tp2 did. Then you can add to your hearts content with the plus.
Yours must work different, because that's what I did, then it won't find cities. Ashville, Blowing Rock, Hilton Head Island.... examples of popular destinations, but they aren't there.
Feels like there are only 10 cities in their list. Really sad.

Question about Weather Widget (HTC's) and locations...

Hi All!
I thought I'd ask you guys about something that I find a bit curious about the weather widget that's included in HTC's mobiles (I have a Desire).
One of the first things I did when I got this phone was to add some locations, and take away others. And living in a "smaller" city just outside of Barcelona I was at first very happy to see that this city (Cerdanyola Del Valles) came up as a "current" location. That sense of joy quickly disappeared when I went to work in Barcelona, and could no longer see the weather at home.
Ok, I thought - since Cerdanyola comes up as "Current" when I'm at home I can search for it and add it as one of my stored locations. - Nope!
I tried neighboring cities - same result. I happen to live in an area where 4-5 km's on my bike can give me 3-4 different "current" locations and none of them come up when I try to add them as "stored" locations.
- Why is that?
Why is it that I can't "save" a current location and later view what's happening there? I mean - The city seems to exist wherever the forecast is taken from - and the forecast obviously exists as well. So why?
Or have I missed something?
The name of the city is taken from geolocation infomation but the weather forecast is taken from the nearest meteo station around. I live in a small city near Romanian border, the name of the city is corrent but the weather forecast is based on the information sent by a weather station 30km away in Bulgaria, the closest one to me. You cannot change this behaviour unless you manually edit the files where the cities names and their associated weather station in World Meteorological Organization codes are stored.

Ouch! That one seemed a bit more complicated than I want to get into... if it's even possible to edit this without being rooted...
What I don't get though is why I can't just "save current location" or similar in the widget, now that there actually is (since I get it when being at home) weather data for my city.
Anyway - thanks for your reply. I guess I just have to search my area to find the city that is closest to where I live and go with that. Can't go with Barcelona, since that is by the coast and I live on the other side of a "mountain range" with sometimes quite big differences in weather from 20 km's away...

Manila Weather - problem with moon and sun

I have problem with Manila Weather.
Today in the morning i updated manila weather - everything is ok, temputere etc, but there is no sun only moon (like at night). All my locations has the same "bug". Moon is also on a new locations, which I added. In my location is almost 12 am.
I deleted forecast_cache.db file and it didn't help.
Is it sth wrong with my phone/soft or with this weather service?
I have hd2 3 months and this happened first time.
funny same for me today i upload every hour and still the moon !!
cannonbal, I think this is a problem with the service, not with our phones....
But, i dont know if the weather will be fixed by itself or we will have to do something.
I live in poland.
Does anyone have such problem?
Same for me in Austria.
Don´t worry, must be a bug in the external weather-server and can´t be corrected on HD2. Maybe a time-code is transmitted wrongly.
Let´s see if it is still the same in a couple of days then we´ll have to contact HTC service to check the weather data provider service if they didn´t got to it already.
Best You change to Dunc´s and Davej´s DDT-Weatherpanel Ultimate 2 threads above ir´s the best and most reliable weather app You can have on this planet.
This is a global issue!! Some server problem just like My Location couldn't be updated last time and now fixed. So not your phone's own problem.
Thx for your answers!
Fixed today!!
Same happens here in my case.It seems that Accuweather is the most unreliable service...Does anyone knows how to change weather provider in manila?

It´s not possible without changing the weather application itself
Same here sun at night moon during the day lol but hey they'll sort it out.
I bought weatherbug elite since it has way more features and a city list that comes in handy.
