Someone developed an app for SonyEricsson phones:
http://www.jeyo.com/products/JeyoRemote.asp
Would be very cool if someone could do the same for the XDA II / IIs. 8) There's gotta be enough coders here who could manage this.
Would love to lie in bed and control my WinAMP playlist using my XDA II to suit my mood. (Or better to control my wife's mood with my WinAMP playlist? )
pocketpc have an program which is called
therminal services which does that
if one dont like that then there is also pocketVNC which does it aswell
i think there are many other programs which does it aswell
No, it's not so much a slow, bloaty remote-desktop program like NetOp or VNC or similar. It's more like a remote-control (IR-type) keypad which can be programmed to send specific commands to your PC over Bluetooth.
Those remote-desktop programs are just too slow and unworkable on this tiny screen IMHO.
then i guess it comes down to what you want to control is it just audio or is it a spc audio program like winamp
i guess it's just a matter of a program on the pc which just speak with a com port it dont know that it's using bluetooth at all
and a program on the pocketpc which also speak with a com port and send stuff that the pc program interp and control what ever have to be controled
maybe there are programs like that al ready
try looking at

Salling Clicker
My boss used a program to control his Apple computer, by using his palm-tungsten or his sony-ericsson t610.
That nifty piece of software is called Salling Clicker
http://homepage.mac.com/jonassalling/Shareware/Clicker/
Unfortunately, Jonas Salling is only into macOS and SymbianOS, and not into windowsXP and PocketPC :-(
But if anyone is looking for inspiration for such a tool, this is a great start![/url]
Is anyone up for the challenge of getting Salling Clicker to work for the XDA II?
(Please say yes, 'cause I just set my room up so my bed points at my computer display so I can watch DVDs etc.)
Cheers,
B
I use Total Input Elite Edition to control my laptop - I use it as a bluetooth remote control to control WinDVD, WinAmp and WinTV. The downside is with the built-in bluetooth stack you have to activesync over bluetooth if you want to create a network connection with the laptop and Total Input is a bit slow loading themes (there's a limit of four).

If u only want to remote control winamp why dont try RemoteAmp? Works great!

Hmm, looking at that link...
Is it possible to use the infra-red port of the XDA II to control the TV/VCR/CD Player etc? I seem to remember someone saying a while ago that the IR Port isn't powerfull enough.
Is it possible?

Yeah, there are several PPC -> PC remote controllers; both fully-fledged ones (TSC etc.) and multimedia-only ones (see http://www.pocketpcmag.com/awards/category_WandF_2006.asp?catid=41#RemoteMediaController ).
Also note that I've written several articles on the PC -> PPC control (that is, the opposite direction); see http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=514&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 for a complete roundup & comparison.
Anything like this?
Hi. Is there any software for my O2 Atom Pure that will allow me to present Powerpoint presentations on my Laptop with Bluetooth through my O2 Atom Pure? I am used to using the software called "Nokia Wireless Presenter" in my Nokia 6630. Surely, there must be a similar program for a Windows mobile device too.. Thanks folks. Please help me..
Has anyone had any luck with a upnp client in WM? I havent been able to find one via google and was wondering if anyone here has developed one at all? Searching hasnt given me any threads but i thought it worth asking!
pocketplayer has upnp support but they say in the forum it doesnt support wm 6.5 yet im gonna try it out and see how it works. heres a link to it http://www.conduits.com/assets/PP410/PocketPlayer.WM.CAB
I had discounted pocketplayer on the grounds they said no support for wm6.5. Guess its worth giving ti a go. I was hoping someone might have a plugin for WM media player or similar. Guess not.
Moved as not software release.
Does anyone know about a nice & easy bluetooth remote control application for mega/windows mobile? I'm looking for one since I bought my phone and couldn't find a straightforward app. Winamp/Media player control would be nice and also powerpoint for presentations and maybe vlc . All in one app would be great
Before this one I had a symbian phone and had an app that could do exactly this. It was called "Phone Remote Control 5.0". It also seems to have a client for windows mobile but I tried it and it doesn't work. I can't imagine something similar being available for this platform, that's why I'm asking here.
I want to mention that I tried a lot of solutions before coming here, like GRemote, VLC Remote, Bluetooth Remote Control and others. None of them seemed to work properly. Any thoughts?
Try Salling Clicker
GRemote pro 1.3.2.96 works on my touch2, with default - QVGA skin no G-sensor ofcourse
I can't believe there isn't any SID player for winmo, or I didn't search well enough. Please, does anybody know for existence of any sid player program? Or, even better, can anybody port it for winmo? SIDTool is PC sid player written in .NET, so I guess it can be easily port for winmo if author share the sourcecode?
PocketSID

There is a freeware program called PocketSID which plays SID files quite happily. It was written for Windows Pocket PC Edition 2003, but it works fine on my HD2 (running WM6.5). A quick use of everyones good friend "Google" should help you find it online!
