I was doing the activesync trick to disable it. After it showed i had an email, but there is nothing there, it is still showing the # i even tried restarting and deleting the server source. Is there a tool to clear the notifications?
Its also annoying when im doing a chat style sms and after closing it i have 30 messages showing in the tab
I agree, the SMS notifications (after you've already read the messages it's notifying you about) are annoying. Any way to fix/disable it?

Recently I've been having issues with the notifications on the Gear 2 with Whatsapp+
I had my groups inside the app set to Mute and to not recieve notifications, it worked perfectly until one of the recent updates, which one, I'm not sure.
What happens now is the following:
Whenever I have no group messages I receive notifications from regular chats perfectly displaying who sent the message and the preview of the message BUT .....
Whenever I have unread group notifications (of which I have removed from pushing beyond the app) and a regular message is sent, the gear 2 pops up notification from the GROUP which is muted and notifications turned off.
Its annoying because I have to check who sent the message due to the fact that somehow the group notifications take priority in the preview of the message even though they are turned off..
Its really specific issue and hard to explain, I've searched forums and what not and I've yet to find anyone with this issue. Ive tried reinstalling gear software, resetting to factory settings, turning on/off notifications, installing regular Whatsapp to no avail.
I can't see the message from my contact whenever I have unseen group messages. very friggin frustrating....
Anyone know what causes this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

I've noticed the exact same thing
I have even upgraded from an S4 to an S5 and the problem is still there
After updating to lollipop with a factory reset I having lots of issues starting with truecaller as I turned off the caller ID for my phone contacts but the floating caller ID still treats my phone contacts as its an unknown number for example if my wife calls me the contact appears as my wife and the caller ID floats and the contact name is my wife, for whatsapp the notfications doesn't always come on time ad I open it and I find that there are multiple notfications and it didn't appear on the status bar although notfications are enabled as for Facebook when there is a notfication when I press on it Facebook doesn't open so I have to open it my self, tried clearing cash and data and reinstall but nothing helped, any idea what can be done here.
When I receive a text message (using Google's Messenger), the screen lights up and I see the notification on the lock screen. After 1 or 2 seconds, without any input, the notification disappears before I can do anything. This has caused me to miss several (somewhat) important text messages because when I go back, the notification is no longer there to remind me to check my messages.
Any suggestions of how to fix this?
Same issue on LG V20 running Android 7.0. Started with Hangouts messages only and then spread to SMS/text messages yesterday. heads up notification displays for fraction of a second before disappearing. Same behavior with notification icon in notification bar. Shows for split second before apparently being instantaneously dismissed. Expanding notification shade shows no notification. I thought it was my messaging app Textra, but full uninstall re-install did not fix. Tried reverting to stock Android messaging app, still no fix. Reverted from Nova to stock Launcher, no fix. This is maddening! Sounds like it might be an OS bug, but your the first person to post something exactly like I'm experiencing. Hopefully more find this and report. No fix as of yet that I've found.
I had a chat with Samsung support where basically they had me first boot into safe mode to ensure no 3rd-party apps were messing it up (they weren't). Then (in regular boot mode), I had to enable all disabled apps (AT&T bloatware). Then, I enabled notifications for all apps.
This fixed my issue well enough. The notifications appear, then go away after a second, but then immediately come back. It's still quirky, but now the notifications are persistent.

I had an S8+ and Whatsapp was set to show the badge if there was a message or group message only (no vibrate or sound) and worked flawlessly. I got an S10 about a month ago, and I have set it to silent + no vibrate (both in Whatsapp notifications and on system settings) but it keeps vibrating when I get a message. The system settings keep reverting back to 'sound and vibrate' every couple days so I keep changing it to 'silent + no vibrate'. But even when it's set to this, it still vibrates!!
It really annoys me, as I only want my phone to vibrate for calls, messages and emails, not Whatsapp.
Any ideas how to fix this? I've uninstalled and reinstalled Whatsapp and it didn't fix it. I've done all software updates as well.

There are three different settings for vibration in whatsapp: Messages, Groups and Calls. Have you tried disabling all of them?
