[Q] Opera Mobile/Auto Full Screen/Hardware Keyboard - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
On the MWG Zinc II i have been trying different opera builds and the thing is when auto fullscreen is on and you start typing (hw kb) the address bar disappears after a couple of seconds and you can't type any more. Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks

Reduced screen size

All
just lately my Artemis running WM5 has started behaving rather oddly. When I try to enter a new appointment, task or note from either SPB diary or the today screen I get about 25% of the screen showing where I can actuall see what I'm entering. This is irrelevant of the input method (keyboard transcriber etc...) This usually squashes up to the top of the screen making it virtually useless..
Does anyone know why and more importantly what I can do about it?
Thanks
Pete

Opera keyboard pop-up

Does anybody know how to fix problem in opera mobile on HTC Touch Pro.
everytime when i type new page with hardware keyboard, the software keyboard popup on screen.
thanks
yeah, I have the same question!
B.
I don't think there is a solution just yet. Opera is programmed to use the on screen keyboard. Known bug with opera.
Still, at least it disappears as soon as you type on the hardware keyboard. Might be a little annoying, but hardly a major problem now, is it?
This is probably a software issue with WM. I have the same with the HTC Wizard and experienced this with Kaiser and others as well. Is there a register entry to decide whether software keyboard shall come up automatically or not? If so, one might change this. Then, the keyboard would never pop up automatically. Might be better. What do u think?

Don't think it is a windows mobile generic problem. The Raphael I had didn't do that for anything but opera. When the keyboard was open, it worked fine on other applications.
But like i said, it is a known issue with opera that it will ALWAYS open the on screen keyboard when you try and type something.
If it really bothers you much, then search the whole forum (not just the raphael section) for disable keyboard. No doubt you'll find something.

Opera 9.5 Build 1938 slow starting problems

I just got the HTC touch pro a few weeks ago, and probably my biggest problem is with opera. the first time I load it after a reset it is always fine... but the second time the "HTC" splash screen is always CENTERED on the screen half overlapping the start bar, and takes about 10 times as long to load opera itself. Not sure why... any clues from anyone?
I'm using official australian 3 rom.
many thanks
Exact Same problem here - bump!!!
Anyone have any idea on why this occurs and how to fix?
Lee
why not just update to the latest version of Opera? I believe the latest build is 2808. I use it and have no problems

Slide out keyboard issue

Hi all,
I am new to this forum, so please bear with me if I have posted in the wrong section.
I am with T Mobile UK and I have the MDA Vario IV.
Recently, I have had a strange problem when using my slide out keyboard. When I use the onscreen keyboard, I can see the text as I type. However, when I use the slide out keyboard, I can see the cursor moving as I type, but I can't see the text being typed. This happens when composing an SMS, typing into Google's search box, entering log in details for Facebook, etc etc.
As I am Deaf, I obviously use SMS and emails a lot, so this is a problem, as I find the slide out keyboard MUCH easier to use than the onscreen one.
Hope you can help.
Wayne.
How fast do you begin typing after you slide out the keyboard? I know sometimes when I begin typing too quickly after sliding it out that the cursor will move while I'm typing but no letters will be displayed...but then they all pop up at once.
Have you used a tweaking tool or registry editor to turn on ClearType in Landscape?
There is a known issue with the font not displaying.

keyboard lag solved - possible software conflict
I had tried all the above fixes and they helped, but did not fully alleviate the lag. I was getting annoyed and wishing my hermes was still alive.
Then I remembered that the only real difference in my keyboard setups between the fuze and the 8525 was that I was using the iphone like full qwerty sip instead of the keyboard sip. i selected the finger unfriendly keyboard sip, and voila the slide ouy now has instantaneous response. no lag at all.
It seems to be that the full qwerty sip option forces a t9 function even when you have all that turned off.
Happy again except for the laggy shift between portrait and land scape.
now to find an iphone sip clone that doesnt affect the slideout. By the way this is with the recent stock att rom.
further issues with keyboard
The lagging keyboard issue continues to nag me. it seems to be related to the fuze having a difficuly time with switching to landscape mode. for instance in opera mini when i switched to landscape to type this there is no lag. if I am using messaging for text or email, when I switch to landscape, the lag occurs until I change the sip. it doesnt matter which sip i change to or from, just that it gets changed. i suspect that it has something to do with resetting the keyboard drivers. anyone else noting this problem. Anyone know of a fix? I have t9x turned off, cleartype turned off.

REQ: MyMobiler 1.23 alternative

Hi everyone,
Seeing as MyMobiler has not been updated for over a year and a half now, I was wondering if anyone found an alternative software to control WM6.5 phones from the desktop.
I'm quite happy with MyMobiler, but it has some problems, especially text input in certain fields. It misses one in a few characters when you type quickly, and I actually need to pace my typing when using it. Not fun...
Another problem is the slow speed of screen updates. I don't believe USB2.0 is so slow that a VGA screen image takes as long as 2-3 seconds to update...
The last problem is it crashes on Win7 sometimes, but that's not too harsh.
So, any suggestions?
You can try http://www.soti.net/
But it's not free
