I'd like to map a hardware button to lock and suspend my Touch pro. I can suspend the device but can't seem to find a way to lock it. At the moment I use Quickmenu but I'd like to stop using this program.
Is there a way to call on the standard locking of WM6 without using a third-party program? If this is not possible are there parameters I can give Mortscript for AEButtons or WkTask to directly call on their locking functions?
Exquise me, I've found the solution for AE Button. http://ae.inc.ru/aebpluscline.php
I'd still like to know if this can be done natively!

I've tried googling all sorts of terms but I still can't fix my problem.
I run Pocketmind PocketMusic as my preferred music player. When I try to go to key mappings, and set one of the hardware keys to turn screen display off, it does the function that's set in the Windows Mobile Buttons panel, which is to go to my Today screen instead of the player commands. Setting that button in the Buttons control panel to <Nothing> doesn't solve this problem . I'm running WM6.
The same key binding worked fine on Conduits PocketPlayer, so I suspect there is another application that is conflicting with it. Any advice would be much appreciated!
heh, Surprisingly I have the exact same issue and it just happened recently for no apparent reason... but regardless I think I have found a resolution, I was running S2U2 and XCPU and I ran iLock from S2U2 and then I did the key lock for XCPU and now it works for some unknown reason.... obscure isnt it?
P.S: Hope it works for you too! If not just remove anything that could affect key locking.
I am looking for an option whereby one can tap the screen to wake up device after lock. I tried to look for this setting but it isn't anywhere in the settings, its only for the hardware keys. Since I am using S2U2 I thought this would be useful, but the only way seems to be using the power button, anyway of using the tap on the screen to bring up the S2U2 interface? Thanks in advance.
I've got a different oppnion of usefulness in this case... I'd hate the thought of the PDA activating in my pocket waiting for me to unlock it, the screen always on is a miniature black hole for the battery...
I don't think there's a feature that would enable this, or any 3rd party program that would help you do this... but then again maybe I'm worng...
I agree with you, the only reason that prompted me to look for this option was because I installed S2U2. Now when I want to unlock device I have to switch on power before I use S2U2, whereas it would have been more convenient if I were to only tap the screen and the power turned on. Anyway S2U2 has an option to power down which can be set for seconds, there by saving battery power too. Strangely this option was there when I was using the XDA Wizard on WM 5. Maybe they removed it in WM 6?
Sorry, I don't know about that, I've never used S2U2 before, and I never will because when I want access to my PDA then I want it now, without any delays... but even if it has a power down option it wont help if its the pocket of my jeans...
Hello.
I've developed an application for HTC Mobiles, and I've just received a Diamond. Mi app hides Windows Mobile, but in this device you can press the Home Button to exit to Today screen, and I'd like to disable it.
I've downloaded Dredsensor, which works perfectly and allows a lot of things more, but I'd need to implement it in my application, and I only need to disable the buttons.
How could I do this?
Thanks,
Enrique
I use GPSCycleComputer for the Diamond on my HTC Touch HD (with great success) but due to the way the GPS drivers have been implemented, if I power the THD off, the GPS drops off.
I have done a search within the archive and there was some code which could be written into a program but nothing that appeared to be a standalone application.
I also note that someone has written an application called MagicMobile which is really overkill for what I want. Is it possible to have this as a standalone application?
Thanks
Have you tried turning the screen off? Instead of pressing the power button and suspend the HD, you can use turn the screen off. That way your HTC will still be working.
Really numpty question, how do I do that manually? I can time out the screen using screen/power parameters but would like a shortcut to do this.
I have WkTask which has a an option but I use WAD2 for everything and would like to create a .lnk file to link to from the Apps screen I have.
Thanks in advance
Hi all! Just a question, can I assign the device lock function found in the today screen to a hardware button? I'm referring to the device lock function that comes with the default windows mobile which we can choose to make it appear at the today screen. It's one of the plugin in the today screen.
i remember using this app called ae button plus. check out this link:
http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php
the app essentially expands the coverage and functionality of the hardware buttons. if you'll go through the list of functions, it can lock your device but it's only for wm5. i haven't tried this with wm6...though i'm not sure if an updated version has been released. i used this before when my athena was still in its original wm5 rom. but after upgrading to wm6.5, never found the use for it. secondly, didn't really use the app given that my athena, when closed, had the keyboard protecting the screen from accidental touches.
you could also try hbutton:

haven't used it myself but i do know it can assign auto-screen rotation. not sure if the drop-down menu (when installed) will have screen lock on it. but essentially it works like ae button plus. and the 2 best parts of it: it works on wm6 and is freeware =)
hope that helps
Thanks! I will check it out.
