Hi all, after searching with no luck, i'm hoping i can get some help from the great crew on this forum. im not sure what i installed or did with a tweak or cab or whatever but now in drop downs and in some programs, the text is super squished and cannot be read. further, when typing in text boxes in WM (gladly not in this text box), it comes out as white text so i cant read what im writing, any ideas how i can fiz or reset this without a hard format? Wierdly enough, idk when it started or how, thx in advance.
check and see if you enabled landscape cleartype in schaps advanced config 3.3. on my fuze if i enabled landscape cleartype, the text rendering got messed up like you said.
a minute late
My Fuze does that when clear type is enabled for landscape. Did you by chance enable that option in some tweak program?
wow ty ty ty, ur all right it seems. i think that fixed it. I shoulda just posted sooner, i've been frustrated with this for weeks! thanks again all!

Hi BeastyLeo,
I just flashed the latest release and i'm having lots of trouble The rom looks great and i so badly want to use it, but dont knw if i'm jinxed or something :-/ Please help me!!!!
1. The incoming phone call graphics is all messed up. The caller's picture and the caller info gets rendered 20-30 pixels below the top of the notification box and the bottom section gets cut off...
2. All the applications running started to behave crazy after a while. WpTask was active, and this is what happened - The task icons used to appear on the top bar (for example Activesync's icon), but the text used to be missing. When i brought up the context menu by clicking and holding the task, the rollout menu didnt list the name of the task again! I had options like Close, Terminate (with no Task names next to it like it would normally appear), and I couldnt kill the tasks at all! Even after i went into default memory manager of wm6, i still couldnt end the tasks. Only option was a reset....
3. The back button in the phone app comes with the sound, and now that slows it down for some reason
thanks!!!!
San
Ohhhh.... this is realy weird
Did you install the ROM with default options, or did you change anything?
This is horrible!

Hi Leo,
Thanks for your quick response!
I didnt do anything with the rom before flashing. The only thing though, was i didnt flash the radio file as i have 1.15 and i find it stable. The Tasks problem keeps happening, i had to roll back now to one of your earlier versions which works fine though....
Thanks, and i really appreciate both your commitment and great work!

If it's that bad I will try to do a bug release in a view days.
My harddisk of my laptop crashed and currently I'm trying to recover the data first. I feel sorry for you and I hope I can fix it asap.
-I noticed a view things with initflashfiles.dat after I decompiled our own ROM.
-Also PocketCM I'm not realy happy with, I think I'm going to take that out.
-Office I changed for our previous one.
Well... I'm looking into it.
Cheers,
Leo

Hi, i have the same problem in phone operation so that i have to use another one. One thing still in dark: when finished uprom progress, i check phone with my Exec close position but it was hanged the screen very dark, have to SR the PDA again working. I don't understand why.
Not sure what's going on here or why. This didn't used to be a problem.
Running Advanced Config, and Diamond Tweak (if that helps to solve this).
Anyway..
In Telenav and notes (and maybe other areas where text is entered).. when using the slide out keyboard the text will not show up in the field when entering it. Somewhere randomly on the screen the letters/numbers are displaying, but they just overlap each other, making a blob of text in the area where just one character should be.
I hope this makes sense in some way. And I hope someone has had this problem and solved it too.
For some reason this does not happen with text messages or emails... so that's good. But... I wouldn't mind using the telenav and notes again!
Thanks for any help-
Try disabling the "Cleartype on screen rotation" option in AdvancedConfig, it solved that same problem for me...

That did it! Thanks for the fast response.
I've noticed that when I'm texting using the keyboard, it can take a few seconds for the words to catch up to what I am typing. Its weird, I'll be finished typing my thought, but I have to wait for all the words to show up after I'm done. I've turned off the autocorrect and other options thinking it was the cause .. but to no avail. Is there a fix for this?
Thanks
also want help with this
I have the same problem. A friend of mine with a non-HTC, WM6 device also has the issue too. My guess is it's just WM6 being slow and not the fault of the device.
Same thing here...
but i think it happens to be due to the lag.
Because ill get a text message...and ill open it...and it will be on the screen.
Then i will open my keyboard it would switch to landscape and i will start typing, and if i look up, it would be as if the words were trying to "catch up" to my typing. But after like 5 secs it would be back to normal.
Maybe just the lag that comes out of openning the keyboard?
I think it's the lag too. Because if this happens when I notice my device is running slow. After I do a hard reset though, when it's the fastest, i don't have this problem.
The other day I typed a six page paper on my phone and there was no lag; I had just done a hard reset.
you guys try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436795
It worked for the Tilt. I haven't tried i yet on the Fuze but it was a game changer for the Tilt.
I would blame wm6.1 for the lagginess since all the phones i've used have this sort of issue. Add to that tf3d and your processor is working ot.
umma have to try this on my Spint Touch Pro

anyone tried this yet?
By the way my Fuze (with stock ROM) doesn't have a delay. It's one of the few things I really noticed on the change from the Tilt so I don't have a need to try it...sorry but hope this helps
This is likely entirely related to the amount of 'stuff' you have going on in the background, on a clean ROM you'd be hard pressed to get this to happen. The more stuff you pile on, the less responsive it's going to be. I didn't notice this behavior for the short time I was running the stock Fuze ROM, though, so a 3rd party program may be the culprit.
I think its because the OS give priority to redrawing the screen, and your text message comes second. Every WinMo phone I have ever used will lag a little bit when chaging the screen.

I just installed the cab and everything seems to be a lot faster. Once I get typing more during the day will be the real test but just some messing around typing words I didn't notice the delay. So far so good
Thanks for the link
Is it just me (showing my age) or is the font in a threaded conversation REALLY small? Anybody know where/how to enlarge it a little?
TIA!

It is pretty small if you ask me. I've found that rotating your thumb "around" the center circle hardware button zooms in / out on the text. It doesnt work so 100% smoothly (WinMo again probably lol) but it does let you enlarge text. you can also set your typing text and system font to be larger elsewhere but I dont recall off hand.

Do you own a touch pro?
Tell us,is it worth installing this cab?
Are you really seeing an improvement?
i just installed it it definetly seems quicker
of course when sliding out the keyboard there will be catchup just because its working extra but after a few seconds its all good and stays fast

Yeah I have a Touch Pro and I think its worth it. I've been texting all day on it and the catch up has been improved greatly.
Yea I also just did the suggested tweak and now it takes about half or less of the time to catch up. The lag is usually only a few characters now.
I just downloaded Solace 1.5 and I have to say wow. This one is great! The only issue I am having right now is in SMS. When I type using hardware keyboard I get this black bar thing at the bottom that suggests words. Alot of times it will just insert the word into the message without me selecting it. Is there any way to disable this? I have not downloaded any other programs, just the rom right after flashing has it already. I have a Tilt, and I cant find any way to get rid of this, tried advanced config, disabled T9, and any predictive text options I could find and it is still there. I love the rom, but this feature makes texting for me almost impossible. I have messaged MBavarian(the Chef) about this, but he is busy with school and other stuff, and I feel I have taken up enough of his time already, so if anybody has any idea what I am talking about, ANY INFO WOULD BE GREAT!
Thanks In Advance
have you tried setting suggested words to 0? might help...
Posted this in HD2 general, might not have been the right section as no-one seems to be paying any attention, and I really want to sort this!
May be a stupid question, I've searched my phone and the net and couldn't find anything, though I'm not sure what I should be searching for anyway.
I'm hoping someone can tell me how to disable the box of words that pops up when typing something, trying to predict what you might be trying to say.
I'm sure it's only been showing up recently, possibly since I installed an application or something, as I don't remember it being there when I first got the phone, otherwise I would have asked this question by now.
I've attached an example of what I'm talking about.
I've tried going into Text Input Settings and enabling / disabling Spell Correction, Word Completion (XT9) and Word Complection (ABC) (all off at the moment) but it doesn't seem to make any difference, and it's really bugging me!
Any help would be really appreciated!
disabling those options and resetting the device does the trick for me.....
btw what kind of keyboard are you using there?
also you have an "options" when selecting the keyboard input, in that opting menu you need to disable them there too.
I've tried a number of different combinations of settings and resetting the phone in between, just doesn't seem to pay attention to the settings.
Also think there's something weird going on as the XT9 and ABC doesn't make any difference when using the normal keyboards, it no longer has the XT9 style text prediction instead of this blocky word suggestion. Though I don't care about the missing XT9 mode, I just want to hide this.
Also, I'm using Swype keyboard, which was installed after this happened in the hope it would hide the word suggestion, but no such luck
Anyone? Anything?
Really want to sort this, but need assistance!
Try going to HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip. If you have the key 'suggwords', change it from 4 to 0. You may need to soft reset. There are many other settings that can be tweaked in there as well. You could just change 4 to 2, so the suggestion panel doesn't take up as much real estate. Still, it will occasionally obscure a control, which is annoying.
Perfect! That's exactly what I wanted.
I knew someone would know!
Many thanks.
