Am I the only one who has problem with the smart dialing on TC? When I "dial" a contacts name, the detail of the numbers do not appear on the panel like kaiser and all the other wm6 phones, so I sometimes have to start my calls by looking up the number in the contacts app
Any solution to this, if I am alone with this bug?

I thought nobody had that problem Well, I installed the cab Touch_3G_Diapad attached. Your milage may differ
Found A Better Way
Forget about the cab file if you are comfortable with registry editting and set this value to 1
HKML>Software>HTC>SmartDialing>bSelExpand and set Decimal value from 0 to 1
This expands the details of the numbers of the contact as you scroll through so you can see and dial straight away. Better than just expanding the selected contact and dialing from Contacts as the cab file does
Hi!
When selecting Contacts to assign to the People Tag only Outlook-Contacts can be chosen but no SIM-Contacts. The "normal" Contact application is showing both.
I have seen this in many (pre Manila) ROMS before but some had the possibility to choose from both Contacts at this point so it must be possible.
Does anybody know more on how to change this?
Thanks for all your great work!!
Tobbi
There is a registry setting:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Phone]
"ShowSIM"=dword:00000001 ->0 to disable, 1 to enable
You can try it, maybe works.
If the key doesn't exist, create it.
Hi
another question about people tag in Manila 2D, how I can assign another contact program like Icontact when press All People

This does only change the visibility of the SIM Contacts in the Outlook Contacts, not in the Contact sheet you see when you try to add s.o. to the people tag.
Any other idea?

I'm gonna ressurect this thread because i also want to know the answer to the origonal question. I would like to get the Manila People Tab to recognize my Sim contacts. Outlook contact manager and all phone applications already do by default in my rom but when i go to "add" a contact to my People tab it displays nothing as I have no contacts copied to my phone. I did a test and copied a contact to my phone and Manila will then use it but I am wanting to avoid that if i can.

Nothing eh?

Hey all,
I'm looking for the same answer. I'm running DCD 3.3.4 and cannot get threaded SMS to work, though Vito Chat works well. Vito will intercept any incoming SMS, but I want to use it with my HTC Home and cannot figure it out.
Thanks in advance, F
mortscript can help you with this.. if you want to change the default messaging app.
i suggest you search in the MortScript Examples thread..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=289197

If when you push the sms button, nothing happend, the problem is that you write wrong the path to sms chat; check if it work with or without te " and if you have sms chat installed in an other directory.
Partially working
Hi. I'm also using Spb Shell 3, and it is starting Vito SMS very well. It's just a matter of making sure that the app path is ok. As a suggestion, what I use to do is in the PC with Windows Explorer I navigate all the way to the executable, and the copy the path from the explorer and paste it on the registry (directly on the phone via MyMobiler, or on the PC using CERegEditor). So, on the main screen, when I press the SMS button it goes directly to SMS-Chat.
What is not working is, when I go to the Contacts panel and press the "Send SMS" button, it goes to the app, but not directly composing a message, so I have to browse and select the contact. Is it possible to start composing directly from the contact panel?
Thanks in advance.

This may or may not work for the Contacts panel, but try modifying the registry key and append open:%s outside of the quotes.
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSINBOX
1 -> "\Program Files\Vito\SMS-Chat\SMSChat.exe" open:%s
Seemed to work for me in MS2 Contacts. The unfortunate side-effect of doing this though, is when you select the SMS icon on the Now screen, it goes to the compose window (and addresses it to some unknown string like "Service...").
i changed this registry entry
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSINBOX
1 -> "\Program Files\Vito\SMS-Chat\SMSChat.exe"
from the now screen it opens sms-chat(good)
from the contacts it opens sms-chat(good)
from the map messages in spb3 when i select messages it selects sms-chat(good)
from the map messages in spb3 when i select compose new message it selects THE ORIGINAL WM program NOT GOOD.
were is that second entry located in the registry?
it seems 2 entries are used, one for messages and one for compose new message

Ok, depends what rom ur using, but on my 2.5 manila you cant beam in the 2.5 messagin app, but you can get around it this way.
Get you contact up on screen, click menu/see more information. It then brings up the contact in the normal winmo interface. You should now be able to click on menu, send contact/beam.
As i said it is Rom dependant, but you will find a similar way to work around the 6.5 messaging app (depending on what version of manila ur using 2.1 or 2.5 etc)
Thanks for the tip, it works !
Does anybody know how can I type my SMSes on PC and send through my HTC?
I used to do that on my N95 and it was great, but I've never seen a winmo version of the same. The closest I have come is to use MyMobiler (http://www.mymobiler.com) which gives you remote control of the phone on your PC.
You can use i-nigma reader.
Then create a barcode and select SMS, you enter in the number and the text then scan it in.
It's pretty neat.

Or you could just post something that is 100% irrelevant to the question. Whatever.
Excuse me?
If you install the app 'i-nigma reader' from opnmarket or find it online. You can then create an SMS message on your PC using that link I supplied. It will then create a barcode which you scan in on your phone and you press send. It then sends it through your HTC, while writing it on your PC.
It's not irrelvant whatsoever. It's an extremely good app/alternative to what he wanted.
Thanks.
Korv's post of course is not irrelevant, but rather silly workaround (shame to HTC not Korv). Really weird that HTC/ WinMobile does not have the functionality that does have every mobile phone (

http://www.mymobiler.com/
All you need
easiest is http://miqlive.com/
You just sync your phone and can send and receive in realtime sms!
and yes.....I use it with my HD2!
mymobiler works well just tried it and really easy to control your phone, didn't show hard buttons though and was slightly laggy, but very easy to type and send msgs quickly using the comp.
Also u can use:
Efficasoft Mobile Express v1.5.2
This sync SMSes and contacts with your phone and then u can create and send SMS from PC.
