Hardware button to open new note?

Ultimately, I want to press a hardware button on my phone, and have it open a new note, ready for my scrawling. Basically, to emulate the "New -> Note" function.
I'm assuming I need to launch notes with some kind of command line parameter, but I don't know what.
I've read -new launches a new note, but it dosen't. I've tried putting in a path to an existing note, with no luck. I keep getting "Cannot open note. It has been renamed, moved, or has been deleted." Yes, I am using quotation marks.
I've had a look at the new menu in the registry, but all it seems to have is a GUID key for each option, which containts a string for the selection title, and a binary option of "enable".
I have a feeling there's something simple I'm missing. Anyone got any ideas?
What command line are you using that isn't working with -new?
v
\Windows\Notes.exe -new
"\Windows\Notes.exe" -new
\Windows\Notes.exe "-new"
"\Windows\Notes.exe" "-new"
All give the error I described. This is when using a shortcut. The button software I have allows you to specify the exe, and "optional parameters" to pass to the executable. It gives the same error. Gnnnnargh!
Use -n parameter. Work fine for new notes

Open pimg.exe in a specific path.

Hello,
I look for a method to open the pimg.exe (wm6 native image and video viewer) directly in a specific file (in instance, the SD Card...), instead of the defaut path (typically \Mys Docs\Mes Pictures).
I try to add several attributes in the shortcut, but nothing works.
Maybe someone can help ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards.
Hi!
You can use this method:
pimg.exe -directory:<path>
e.g
pimg.exe -directory:\My Documents\My Pictures
pimg.exe -directory:\Storage Card
Regards,
PK
thanks worked perfectly
Is any way to assign custom directory but run in silent mode?
I want to run in it AutoStart section, but it always opens it's main window...

Command to rotate landscape when GPS icon is pressed?

Is there any command I can add to my iGO Amigo shortcut to make my device turn landscape before launching iGO?
Of corse there's always mortscript, but I'm clueless as to how to use that..
thanks!
btw the name of the exe I'm using is called amigo_pna.exe
You may be hesitant to use mortscript, but someone has actually already written a script to do this for Tomtom. Check it out at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1096841&postcount=4 and you might be able to modify it to your needs.
EDIT
Just realised that download is no longer available. Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=438929 instead.
thanks I'll try editing this. If I've installed mortscript already then does my device just recognize the .mscr file type? Or how do I actually make the file work?
Yes, .mscr should be associated with mortscript and just run like any program.
You can open it in any text editor on your pc to change it.

[Q] Export list of files in a directory?

Is there an app (or could someone develop one) that would export a list of files in a directory into a text document or some other file type that could edited?
I have a need for it at the moment and frankly I'm too lazy to do it manually. lol
Anything like this out there?
Besides the obvious? ls >file
obvious to whom? I have no idea what that means. lol
is that some sort of adb shell command?
Edit: I've figured out the list in the command window but it would still be nice to have an app to do this.

Terminal emulator command to switch to previous app

Hi all,
I've done a simple script in /system/bin/ that executes two commands and then exit from the terminal (killing the process, since 'exit' command doesn't work).
I execute the script using a terminal shortcut that executes 'su -c myscript': it opens the terminal windows, executes the two commands I want and then exit as expected.
The problem is: if I launch this shortcut when I'm in another app e.g. YouTube, after closing the terminal windows it comes back to the homescreen, while I wanted it to stay on YouTube.
Is there a command that I can use to switch to previous app before killing the terminal?
I searched but I cannot find anything of useful
Thanks
Little up
