I've got my touch pro setup so when I connect via wifi at home, I can navigate to the shared folders on my pc and look at photos and stuff. Can the iphone do this?
Do you realise that you are in a forum dedicated to Windows Mobile?

Hi guys,
I use my touch pro for numerous official reasons and projects. It could be anything, starting from a powerpoint presentation to a report writing and all those. However, I still need to carry my laptop around just to be sure that I have all the files and everything when I'm on the move.
That gave me an idea, was wondering if there is any method or an application, that I probably can make use of, to access my laptop remotely over wifi or internet. So that I can copy a file to and from my touch pro whenever is required...!!!
Thanks for any input...
That's the best roundup I found so far:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=288506
Enjoy
you can always make an adhoc connection with your laptop
and use resco explorer to copy files off a shared drive on the laptop
usee I actually wanna keep my laptop at home switched on during my work time and wanna access it from my office with the touch pro for file sharing purposes. is that possible by any means?
yeah, youll need to use port forwarding in your router
Hey thanks for that link It did work, I installed logmein and its working so far, but I have a small query. Does the free version get over after a certain period? And if does then can I reactivate it?
I've been using logmein now for years and the free verison does not expire.

So how did you get the keyboard to work with Logmein? We have a thread going over here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=444641
I am an amatuer with xda, as well as my pocket pc (I have the htc fuze{touch pro for att}), however I enjoy both and am learning more and more all the time about both. However I have not been able to find this, and was wondering if such a thing existed: a program to toggle between wi-fi and internet for other programs. You see, I don't have a data package, and don't like to pay for the internet. So I was just wondering if anyone knew of a toggle for something like that.

Works great.
Before I got my HD2 i had a Nokia N95, for that i had a piece of software called SymSMB, which allowed my phone to appear on my pc as a computer in my network, it meant i could then drag and drop files between any folders or drives that i wanted to share.
I was wondering if there is anything like this for the HD2 floating around.
an overview of what symSMB could do if you're wondering.

Closest I got to anything similar was a remote access app i found on here some time ago. If you search the threads you should find it.
Gave you access via browser to all files and folders, can stream video/audio and move files about. Also in beta version you could remote desktop (or remote mobile?) and control it for specific function (used it to help a friend one, needed a few tweaks in his registry ) Sorry, cant remember who made it but im sure it was free.
Hope this helps On the other hand atleast you know its out there
im gonna try this one....looks very good:

Bingo buddy, you found it! It is awsome!
thanks i'll try out what you suggested, not exactly what i was after but will mostly do what i want.
cheers guys.
Hi everyone. I've been hearing mention of some sort of Internet Sharing application or addon to the comm manager, that would allow me to turn my phone into some sort of hub. I'd like to be able to use my phone's connection with my iPod Touch, (or perhaps, other devices), so my searching is what has lead me here.
However, I don't really know what the "defacto" modification is for getting this capability. I've seen several threads already. Also, they seem to lack in documentation. They come in cab files - would that mean I can just download and install from my phone right away?
So if anyone can recommend me a wifi sharing app, (preferably for the HTC Ozone), I would be very grateful.

Auugghh. The website logged me out, so I lost my entire post
Anyhow, I'll try and re-write what I had last time:
So I'd like to use 0.9.1, since it seems to be the last free version. I downloaded it and installed it ok, but I have no idea how to use it past that. Could you possibly link me to a guide, or detail it in here?
Well, I gave in at the airport and just downloaded the trial.
Very nice. I'm so glad that I can use a browser that was a least half thought out (safari mobile) rather than that Intermet explorer. What a waste of my unlimited data plan that would have been.
Although, I'd like to be able to use that free version of WMWifi if I could. So does anyone happen to have a guide for it?
Before you tell me to go away "newbie" or point me to the search function, I've searched everywhere here and google. I've found little. I'm a total newbie. Heck, I'm just a 2 year old girl. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Bump..........
You can't.
WinMo 6 can share via USB or Bluetooth using protocols that neither of which are supported on Honeycomb.
Sorry buddy.
Edit: See below. If your phone supports Wi-Fi tethering than you're (maybe) golden.

My HTC HD2 with WinMo 6.5 has a Wi-Fi router option in the system page(accessed via the Windows symbol button). I've used it to access the internet from an ASUS notebook, I'm hoping to use the same thing when my Transformer arrives. It should just be like using any other wireless access point.
you can check out a vid I did awhile back. It may help http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFHDVrtp9-E
I won't even call you a newbie...
