O2 Orbit2

Firstly hello! This is my first post on here so go easy please
Secondly I need some advice, I am at a stage where i need to replace my current phone and i have been looking at the O2 Orbit2. I don't like to buy without reading a review but they all seem very conflicting. You guy's seem to know what you are talking about so i would welcome your opinions / options.
My current phone is the Nokia E61 but it struggles now so it has to go, I also have to change networks because Vodafone has little or no coverage at my new house.

Nick, it might help a little if you state what you expect from the device, I am currently using an Orbit-2 on a T-Mobile contracted sim card, what applicatons/ software or GPS based applications do you want/ need from this device - Mike

Thanks for the reply Mike, sorry for the delay in reply and the sketchy original post. My main uses are web access/email and Excel/powerpoint based programs not sure how it would cope with these. Also any troubles with PC sync as this is something I do regularly and would be a pain if it was unstable!
The reviews I have seen have been very mixed hence i thought I would ask the experts.

Ok, I know that you guys mainly dedicate your efforts toward cracking HTC phones, but no one else has been able to figure this out and you guys are WIDELY known as the best phone crackers around. As I am sure you are aware, the verizon Omnia I910 GPS is locked because of their greed. All of us Omnia users are becoming extremely frustrated and the good folks over at Modaco have been working on it since the release to no avail. I have been following their thread and crossing my fingers waiting, and corresponding with Verizon. I finally got a response from them that was the final straw. When questioning them about the GPS, I got an email response from them stating that "anybody with any technical experience would be able to unlock this feature". Please you guys, everyone knows you are the BEST at what you do. Please help

Looking for Radio logs/Call to Developers and Testers!

Hi folks,
I was wondering if anyone could help us out.
We are looking for a log that consists of start up data and making a call data from a Rogers Dream/Magic, or even a t-mobile g1 being used in Canada.
Basically, some adventurous developers are trying to get Android working on other similar htc devices, and this is one of the issues: Rogers/Fido customers are having troubles and a log file could really help us out so we can compare our logs with an actual android device used in Canada.
If you could help us out at all with providing a file, that would be great. You can xxx out your phone numbers or any personal information in there.
Also, if anyone could provide the libhtc-ril.so file, that might help us also.

Hello everyone

Hey guys, my name is Sean and I'm from Pittsburgh PA.
So I believe I found the right place here at xda-dev. I just got a Touch Pro2 with sprint. The guy I bought the phone from offered me one with newer firmware but I told him I wanted the one with the oldest (in case some vulnerabilities were patched), so I think it is WM 6.1 or something, definitely not 6.5. Anyways, when I go to setting -> about is says TouchFLO 3D 2.1.38416.1; what other information can I find as to my version that may be of use to me?
I am sorry I am such a newb at this. Basically, I want to get the most out of my phone as possible (hell, it cost me 300$ [no rebate since I have an older data plan]) and do not even know where to start. There is so much information on these forums I am having a hard time making sense out of it. If anyone could give me some information as to how to figure out what I can do or some recommendations I would very much appreciate it. Thanks

I suggest you look on ppcgeeks for more cdma based TP2 information. Most of the people on the tp2 section there are sprint users.

So a few days back I installed mightyrom and about 20 cabs. Wasn't that difficult once i figured it out. Thanks for pointing me to ppcgeeks.
That's about it, but, what kind of stuff do you guys put on your tp2?

my personal favorite is slingbox, nothing like having a portable cable box that makes calls .

is it possible to play netflix's watch instantly on the tp2? That would be awesome.

Hello All, (and Eugene), I am happy to be a part of XDA now, I've been reading the forums for quite awhile trying to learn. I'm self-taught and most of this still reads like greek to me. I've been trying to root my phones for over a year. I'm tired of buying expensive phones that takes no time to mess up then the yahoo's (not the website..lol) send me refurbished phones even if its been only a couple of weeks. Anyway if anyone is here in the Atlanta GA area I'd be willing to pay to get my phone rooted and install a new ROM. I've bought countless apps only to not be able to use them because of now room.
