A2DP Bluetooth Settings - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I have been scouring the discussion board looking for tweaks to the A2DP settings. I have a custom rom but don't think anything was done to enhance the bluetooth settings. I think the sound can be much better but can't find current tweaks with the new stack. So i ask you all, if you have made tweaks to your Bluetooth Audio and are pleased with the sound, what tweaks have you made?
Thanks in Advance!
I am using motorla S9's and the top end sound is washy, tinny.

if you use advance comfig it has bluetooth settings you can adjust
are the s9s comfortable for you? i have the s9 hds and they kill my ears

They are not bad. I can get them to be just right.
I know about the configuration tool, but I am not sure where to go with certain settings? i.e. Bitpool, joint stereo etc. Right now i have bitpool at Medium and it's still kinda crappy - on the high end.

With S9 there is a very fine line between barely noticing they are on and utter discomfort, and it all depends on how you wear them.
Unfortunately there isn't a way to describe it, but there is a sweet spot, a position where it seems to be perfect.

i may have found the way you describe but when you have them in do they just rest in your ear or do you actually have them like in the canal like most noice isolating ones?
ive used the new zune ones and some shure ones that you really push in your ear but these i can only seem to get just barely in and you dont get the great bass unless you kinda push them which isnt practical

Bluetooth Settings
I use the following bluetooth settings-changed thru the advance config 3.3 tool
bitpool very high
Max bitpool 80
Min bitpool 30
sampling 48000
This sounds really good thru by jabra 620s

thanks for the data - I will go with those settings.

what do you use to listen to your music? I try using the HTC player with setting way low than yours and I get tremendous skipping and songs that are "busy", for talk radio they're fine but almost every song skips. my settings are
bitpool=25
max=60
min=15
sampling=44000
no stereo
I had these problems with my apache but I figured that the Touch Pro would be quick enough for this. Could someone please point me in the right direction to not skip. thanks in advance.

with the settings very high does your phone slow down?
it always makes tf3d real laggy and such whenever i play music over stereo with high bluetooth quality

I am going to try out these settings. I just tried switching bitpool to high and no other tweaks and the sound was still pretty bad, I would almost venture to say worse than FM radio. I never had any problems with A2DP quality on my Tilt and I never touched a setting so I'm pretty disappointed. Hopefully this will fix it.

S9 Working good on Fuze
I have mine on low and no skips, not sure if very low sounded better. Maybe it will work for you

To summarize:
What is the configuration that you ultilizam in bluetooth?
The greater BITPOOL higher "quality" and lower performance of Bluetooth (signal power) right?
My device is HTC Diamond and Motorola S9 (A2DP)
What configuration i use?

Joint stereo - Yes?

Just try this simple settings, sounds great, no skipping at all.

Joint Stereo -> NO
reason is becos it would not be true/real stereo if we choose YES... right?

I use the following registry setting.
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/A2DP/Settings
Bitpool - 76
MaxSupportedBitPool - 80
SampleRate - 48000
UseJointStereo - 0
This is what I have ended up with through trial and error, give this a go. However I think assuming joint stereo doesn't give you real stereo is simplistic and incorrect. I have had a bit of a read and it is quite complicated.
I wouldn't worry about it too much, just try both and see what you think sounds better.

All A2DP confused people must read this:

I'm getting a bit frustrated with the bluetooth on my touch pro.
My current settings are
bitpool very high
Max bitpool 80
Min bitpool 30
sampling 48000
No skipping all is fine until I go walkabout and put the phone in my pocket.
Skip skip skipitty skip.
Tried other settings but still no joy.

WM6 and A2DP

Hi all Gurus!
I was planning to get myself a Jabra BT8010 and plan to get it working with WM6 installed XDA MiniS.
Generally, how is the sound quality of BT A2DP as compared to normal headphones? Are there many issues in BT Stack of WM6 that might prevent nice music experience?
Also, has anyone tried BT8010 with WM6 Orwell's rom? and got it working perfectly fine?
And can we just jot all the issues/problems/solutions faced with WM6 (whether Orwells or PDAViet) and A2DP here in this thread?
Mods, the specific threads are all scattered so I thought I would start off this thread specifically for WM6 and A2DP. Please delete this thread if this topic doesnt require a separate thread.
thanks,
Sid
Works fine on mine with a Sony Ericsson DS910, and an iTech Blueband.
It has AVRCP also, so with the DS910 it supports all the controls.
Quality is probably about the same as A2DP from my K800i, but it is all quite memory intensive, so if you're low on ram it will stutter like a bastard.
i had the PDAviet 3 WM6 and the xound quality on mine was okay..its just a cheap think i bought on ebay that you plug your own headphones into. its eem sto lose some base and sound a bit tinny compaired to the same headphones plugged into my 8125 directly, but that could just be my BT receiver.
I have Nokia HS-12W and the music quality if good with same gaps in music but the quality in voice is very bad!
The voice is like talking from far!!!!
If someone solve this problem please tell us!
Im Using my Mono SE headset to listen to movies etc on the go and have noticed a bit of a drop in quality from WM5 to WM6, It seems to crackle more on WM6.
Bluetooth range is very good though, I was on a call the other day and someone came to the gate so I got up and went outside still talking on the headset only to realise my Wizard was still on my desk 10 meters away

I use iphono mini with WM6, quality in music is quite good (similar as WM5) once you add the bitpool registry key to 40 (before a lot of skips).
But used as hands-free has quite bad quality, at least in my case most of the times I have to disconnect the bluetooth and use the phone.
Perhaps the Jabra are better in this aspect.

Can you share the exact location of this key in the registry?
Although my Jabra hasnt arrived yet. I just want to be ready.

Got My Jabra BT8010!
Hi All,
I got my Jabra BT8010 working with the WM6. I am pleasantly surprised with the voice quality. Music thru the stereo headset is also excellent, but sometimes the songs seem to slow down or plays fast randomly.
I tried overclocking, but it did not do much good.
Has anyone faced this? this doesnt happen everytime.Just randomly, the speed of song increases or decreases. Any pointers in this?
Further, Anyone knows how do I activate cyberon voice dialling thru this? The MS Voice commander doesnt work well with Indian names :-(
Thanks for the help...all. I also filled the petition for XDADEV to allow storing the ROMs at this site!

Give this cab a shot. My buddy uses it on his Mini S, says it works wonders. I don't have a a2dp headset yet. I forget what brand he has, it's a something-com I think, the one that folds up.
My BT620s is on the way, I can't wait. I will let you know how it works out.

I got it today.
The damn thing took forever to charge the first time.
I have to say I am very impressed with this thing. Works out of the box with WM6, so far no issues whatsoever. The sound quility is not audiophile level, however it is a lot clearer than I thought it would be!
I was listening to some songs that i have only heard on my crappy laptop speakers and they are awsome. I can hear a lot of things that I couldn't hear before. The bass on these is great.
the best part is that they were only like $60 US, that is less than I paid for my Jabra BT800 a year ago.
I Give the BT620s a 2 thumbs up!!!!!
btw no A2DP fixes have been applied to the Mini S, I am using PDAViet 3 so I am not sure, actually there may be some tweaks in that.
Using A2DP on pdaviet3 with the itech clip IIs headset works great for me:
PROs:
- no skipping after 20 min of mp3 playback
(EDIT: it does drop audio for one sec about 1-2 secs after initial playback, but then resumes)
- not wired headphone sound but pretty darn close
- seamless music pause/resume with incoming calls
- no problems at all with MS Voice Command
CON:
only one so far - people on other end when asked about sound of MY voice said it was a little distant/tunnel sounding (but this is more due to the mic location on the itech)
That being said, I've just "reverted" back to faria's 3.3 rom. Today screen with SPB Pocket Plus/Diary combo seems snappier.
i have wm6 and sonorix OBH-0110, and sound quality if awfull comparing to PC connection with toshiba bluetooth stack. and some cooker said that wm6 bt stack is alot worser then wm5 one.
Hi All,
I dont have this location on my WM6 Orwells: "HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/AD2P/Settings/"
The "Settings" folder and the subkeys are not there. This location was there in WM5 while it isnt there in the WM6. Does anyone know where it has been relocated?
And any settings for A2DP skipping and Music playback speed uneven-ness?
Added those bitpool registry keys but they seem to have no effect. How can I improve A2DP sound quality in WM6?

Did you create those locations manually?
Even after installing that bluetooth fix cab in this thread, I still have problems with skipping and song playback speed intermittant. :-(

Yes I created those manually. Now I use Molski's AKU3.3 Crossbow style rom and sound quality improved alot. Still not on the same level as a wired headset but much better nonetheless. As soon as there is a better WM6 rom with working A2DP tweaks I will upgrade again.
An Update,
I used this A2DP fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284974
and skipping went away. Also, music quality reduced.
I uninstalled the fix, and I have the quality back, but songs have started skipping again.
Cant MS provide for a better BT stack in WM6 with all their development prowess??
Would going back to some stable ROM like Molski's or Farias WM5 help?
Faria's WM6 and A2DP
Another update....sighhh
I updated my Wizard to Faria's latest fully loaded WM6. The skipping reduced a bit, but thats about it. The Music speed is still intermittant.
Seems like I wouldnt be able to enjoy this gift. Why cant things just RUN....
I am guessing, changing ROMs wouldnt help...or would it? Does Widcomm stack work on WM6? Anyone with this experience?
The next ROMs I am gonna try are:
1. WM6 MBE
2. Farias 3.3 AKU
3. Molski's WM5
After that i will try selling my Jabra BT8010.

Anyone figure out a cause behind the intermittent skipping and speed fluctuations when playing music over bluetooth? I'm using the XDA Mobile 6 release 2a ROM with my BlueAnt X5i headphones. Everything works for the most part. But about 10 to 15 minutes it will drop audio for a few seconds, then start back up again. Annoying but I can live with it.
What's really irritating is the fluctuations in playback speed. For some reason playback tends to speed up every 5 minutes or so. When I skip ahead or go to the next song and it's fine. Then the issue recurs again in 5 minutes... repeat cycle.
I've tried using different mp3's of different bit rates and that doesn't seem to have an impact. I've also tried different players - WMP, TCPMP, GSplayer, Mortplayer, etc. All seem to behave the same way when it comes to variations in speed during playback. Any ideas on this one????

WM6 A2DP settings

Hi,
I am using O2 xda mini s, and i just bought a sony ericson HBH-DS970 stereo bluetooth earphones.
I am using WM6 Xplorer Rom and radio version 02.25.11.
Currently I am a bit frustrated with my bluetooth earphone as the quality is very poor eventhough I read that the quality of the sound if used with other bluetooth handphone / pocket PC is superb.
I have ben searching this forum to either tweaks the registry or any patch to improve the sound but currently I'm still lost. I found one old post (WM5) which guide us to tweaks -> HKLM/software/microsoft/bluetooth/a2dp/settings....
but my problem is that there is no settings folder under my a2dp, there are 4 folder with label 1,2,3,4.
Are there any way i can improve the sound quality???
will changing the radio rom affect the quality of bluetooth reception??
Please enlighten me..
Thanks

Try the settings from cduncan...
If there is no registry entry, you will have to manually put them.
You can change the bitpool setting for quality of music.
HTH
Cheers Sids,
I have already do as you said... previously went to that post but feel lost, and since the thread have over 100 pages, therefore i feel inappropriate to ask you or duncan.
One more thing though, can i ask you what is your personal preference on those settings?? I cant put a lot of bass, because it will sound terrible, like broken speaker.. what todo??
cheers mate
p/s My problem is that the quality of the sound that coming out of my BT earphone is just poor (although others are highly recommending this DS970). I have no problem with pairing it with my wizard or the playback.
I have play around with the BitPool and the only difference that I notice was the volume level, not the sound quality. any advice??
One more thing, is the selection of Radio Rom have any effect to the quality of the bluetooth signal i.e. to the output in my BT earphone??? Help...
Thanks again
Hi,
I cant say about your BT headsets. But I confirmed these things - Updated firmware from the manufacturer (Jabra for me) and the quality with other A2DP enabled (maybe nokia/SE) phone.
I have set my bitpool setting to 60 which is Farias default, but he placed the reg entry in AD2P folder instead of A2DP by mistake.
I am using equalizer settings with TCPMP for the nice sound, which I dont get with Windows Media Player. Maybe you could try that out.
Even after those settings and tweakings, I dont think BT headsets can replace wired headsets for an audiophile. You will only just get passable sound quality. Maybe its got to do with bandwidth that BT provides.
Lastly, I may be wrong, but Radio roms are only used for GSM radio. Its got nothing to do with BT.
Gurus, please correct me if I am wrong anywhere.
Sid
I'm using faria ROM Real Thing and using Oakley OROKR as my bluetooth stereo. But I have unusual problem. When I listen MP3 from pocket music 4.3.4 my OROKR produced a lag sound. Sometimes the sound was disapeared and suddenly back to normal again (with lag of course). I have try my OROKR with my PALM Treo 650 using A2DP s/w it's produced same quality like my MDA. Is this happen cause the registry setting or my OROKR problem? Help me?
PS: If I used OROKR to call it's 100% normal
For what it's worth, i have tested my plantronics pulsar 590a (bt ver2) with other htc devices with bluetooth ver 2 and audio was excellent. the wizard only has bt ver 1.2 and that is maybe where sound quality is lost. just a thought...
did you buy the headphones on ebay? Got mine on ebay and I was very disappointed with the sound quality. i checked online and, for my surprised, i discovered that what I got from ebay was a cheap fake. I bought a new set from sony shop and voila, they work perfect. Sound is amazing..with the SE k800i i am using from time to time. Couldnt get them to worjk with my xda2i tho

Bluetooth Headset AD2P skipping

Have any of u experience Skipping when listening to audio via BT headset? Mine skip every 3 secs. any solutions?
i have quite the same problem, but mostly it works fine. Sometimes it skips at the end of the songs or even on the beginning, very annoying
Same here, I'm using Sony Ericsson HBH-DS200 headset. Sometimes it skips during playback (I use pocketplayer). Another annoying thing is that it take forever to find nearby bluetooth devices. A friend of mine also has the TC, but when we both turn on bluetooth it takes really long before we can see each other in 'Bluetooth Explorer'. Anyone knows why that is?
Mine is almost not usable.very 3 sec it will skip not sure what is the problem. Very dissapointed.

Hi guys.
I also have problems with my bluetooth headset.. i have exchanged my phone for a new one but the problem consists.
I cant parre my Sennheiser VMX 100 BT headset to my phone, even though is works perfektly with my HTC P3300 and my HTC Touch??
Further more i cant use my other BT headset eighter. I have tryid
Motorola Miniblue H9
Nokia BH-208
Samsung WEP-200 Headset
but everytime i take a call the headset disconnets after 5-15 seconds ??
there is a setting which controls the size of the buffer. by default it's too small, apparently.
search on xda-devs, there is a fix in one of the tweak and tipps threads.
Edit: Just saw you named the technology wrong. It's called A2DP, Advanced Audio Distribution Profile, thats why you might not find any results because AD2P doesnt exist

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings\UseJointStereo = 1 (DEC)

Hi
I am using the same Sony and pocketplayer. Using stock ROM with the bitpool set at 64 which is default on this machine, the sound is perfect with no skipping as long as I soft reset, initiate bluetooth, start pocketplayer, then press the headphone play button. It automatically connects and plays. If the phone has been used in a call or any other software first-forget it--bad skipping. This used to happen on my trinity too. Same procedure fixed it. Yes, you can reduce the bitpool but the sound will suffer. The skipping does not happen with my itechs which are bluetooth 1.2. I wonder if the Sony is using EDR or something--the sound is much better--can't even tell its bluetooth.
i have a problem with changing the registry values to try to get rid of the skipping when using a2dp wiht my samsung sbh-500
evertime i softreset the device, the settings are default again...
i use 1.64.08.21 radio and bepes 0.67 rom...
anybody an idea why thsi is happening?

[Q] Improving Sound Codecs On Gal 3

Hello I am using gal 3 apollo in Thailand and I have had a problem with some audio settings
Even with the 3.5 mm jack sound is not loud it seems they have locked the output for battery life somehow. And I just bought a New Nokia BH 505 Which is pretty clear . But When I connect it to my phone It has a weird like low quality sound as if the signal is not good. At first I thought it was range so I put it next to my BT still same and i even walked to the other room .. and it still sounded like that so signal is fine. I tried this BT on my Blackberry Full quality rich music the whole works so i know its the samsung. Most Probably The Codec Or Db Settings in The Service Mode of the Device. On galaxy S they Devloped Voodoo Sound Which is very Good From the Reviews I read.
I heard of a hack to increase output 3.5mm on a Spica in service mode but i didn't understand or know how to unlock this limit (if this is the Problem) I Alson See a Bluetooth Gain settings I have the link over here http://android.bigresource.com/Samsu...hl7LazklU.html. This Would be very great if someone knows how to fix this Thanks all.

Likewise, you could also try out the full version of PowerAMP.... It gives you very fine control and an easy EQ setting.
But to fully give out clear and loud music, the power output via 3.5mm port could be increased within a custom ROMs kernel setting, if I'm not wrong...
Thanks For The Help. I also Tried Power Amp It made it a very Cracked Sound. But As for the Codec And Audio Quality Yes I Also Think WE have to wait for a stable FW and Kernel then mod The Kernel like the Galaxy S's Voodoo Sound. I am Still Wondering about the samsung service mode. There are many setiings for heaset and bluetooth rx value tx value and the galaxy spica has a different config but they managed to fix the problem as in the first post. I am using Lest's CFW should I post this problem on his Thread. Thanks for the help Guys

Bluetooth audio skips

I'm on 8.1 dp2 in hopes of a fix but it doesn't seem to have helped. My Bluetooth audio skips once every song or two and it's super frustrating while in my car. I've tried disabling WiFi and Bluetooth scanning and adjusting the codec options but nothing seems to work? Anyone else with this issue or a solution? I just received wireless earbuds so I'll test those to make sure it's not my stereo but my s8 had worked fine...
Ok say my new ear buds are Bluetooth 5 and I haven't noticed a single skip yet. My stereo is only 3 so maybe that has something to do with it? As far as I can find however there are no current bt5 stereos so I'm not sure what the issue or solution would be...
Enable the developer options. You can choose between sound quality and connective stability. You can also lower the sampling rate to 44100kHz. In a word, reduce the data transferring rate. I think these might help.
I did all of that and have tried all the options

I have had this problem cropping up on various Toyota forums with the root cause being the automotive entertainment systems. It appears that most newer systems are still based on 2008/9 technologies which only have a limited ability to buffer the B/T audio. I'm not suggesting that this is your car but I thought it is worth mentioning.
Ive got a Sony stereo I put in myself haha it's relatively new
