Is anyone else having problems setting the default input method. I've been using the reg hack that worked for windows 5.0 to set the block recognizer as the default. For some reason, the input method always reverts back to the regular keyboard after a reset. Is anyone else having this problem? I tried doing a search, but not many people are complaining about this, so I figure maybe it's just me.

At some point recently, my WM6 phone stopped playing its ringtone (normal WM6 ringtone sound, haven't changed it). If I go into Settings->Sounds & Notifications and check the Phone: Incoming Call sound, it is correct and plays. If I check in Settings->Phone and check the sound, it is correct and plays. But it doesn't play when I actually get a call. Changing the ring tone to something else doesn't help either. Anyone have any idea how this can be fixed, other than a hard reset (soft reset doesn't work)?

this happened to me wayyyy back when i still had my xda2. although i'm pretty sure wm se2003 and wm2006 are completely different =)...what happened was i installed an app that's causing the conflict. i forgot which app was causing this problem but after i uninstalled it, did a soft reset and the ringtones came back. for your case, you might want to check if you installed recent apps. if yes, perhaps one of them is causing this. i think it's mostly the old applications that affect the system. example, installing an app made for se2003 devices.
or, is your bluetooth on? it's possible that all sound is being rerouted to the headset. i think it's a bug for a lot of devices.

Fring is the application in this instance (I wanted to use Skype over my 3G connection, but the Skype client itself is a no-go, unless you go back to an old version that only outputs via the speakerphone). As far as I can tell this happened after installing it.
Problem is, after uninstalling Fring and doing a soft reset, the problem remains. I figured maybe the issue is a registry setting or the like, but have no idea where. So I turn to all you knowledgeable people in the hope that the answer isn't "do a hard reset." :-|
So far with Custel 1.0/2.0 and XDA live 1.1/1.2 Inesoft Address Book Caller ID becomes disabled, and the entire program becomes essentially useless after installing and soft resetting. Any reason the roms are suppressing this program? Fixes?
Is it a compatibility issue or a simple registry fix?

Its running fine on Dutty's latest verison
Try 2.0 since it is the latest version. It's free if you bought after July 2006.
I am using 2.0. And I even tried the 2.1 Beta.
Its odd, I put the original ATT Tilt Rom back on it, and it just keeps getting disabled. Is there any fix?
I even tried a hard reset and installing Inesoft Address Book 2.0 by itself then resetting. Then it just gets disabled and my bottom launch tray disappears.

I just tried it on Dutty's Version. After 2 soft resets it just completely stopped working! How can i fix this
First, let's verify it is the address book. I have been usin git for along tie and it works FINE. I have read reports that there is a hacked version (warez) floating around that the caller ID does not work.
I'd contact Inesoft directly for support.
I have contacted Inesoft. Still awaiting a response. I've only had this problem with the Tilt/Kaiser. It worked fine until doing some soft resets and then PRESTO it was gone. And yes I am using a legit version.
It seems as if my bottom launch tray (where the small inesoft address book icon is) gets completely disabled, and consequently disables inesoft. The program doesn't disappear right away. It disappears probably over an entire day after multiple soft resets.
So, just to clarify....
It works find after a soft reset, but after an entire days of multiple soft resets it does not work?
After 1 soft reset it still works?
After 2 soft resets it still works?
But after 3-4-5 it dosent work any more?
Everything else works after these resets? Like it being the default contacts; or the default history manager, etc?
I have the issue happenning with Dutys Rom#5. Caller ID doesn't stay enabled and every so often the address book comes up blank. I use it for the address book shortcuts.

There is no "exact" amount of resets but eventually it just completely gets shut out. The only thing it can do after it shuts down is just edit my contacts and add photos to names etc. But as for Caller ID and Call history functions etc, it just keeps getting disabled no matter how many times i try to re-enable it.

I have not been able to resolve this, despite much effort and trying just about everything to fix it.
I just tried Navigation tonight and encountered this very issue again. Basically, after about 40 seconds navigating to a destination, the phone goes crazy and a female voice starts dictating a bunch of garbage web url's and this continues until you actually end the task/app. I can't figure out why this is happening. The only voice recognition software I have installed is the standard Voice Search app. That works fine. It is when you navigate that this starts happening.
Some of you here and elsewhere stated it can be an issue when installing a new voice recognition tool. However, that doe not apply to me here, as I have not installed any other app specific to this feature.
Any help is appreciated!

Maybe try toggling the "text to speach" voice function to see if that clears it up? Or clearing phone cache & davlick?

BTW, Pico or Samsung for text-to-speech engine? Which one should I use or which is best? I'm assuming Google?
I did recently clear cache and davlick. That didn't seem to fix anything though.
I am trying to make an anti theft profile. I got everything working except for the trigger. I know that it is the trigger because I have tried setting the message on Received Text to anything, this will run fine. However, when I set it to something such as "SOS" it will not. I have tried multiple times and I am sure that I am typing the exact message.

I have resolved the problem. I had to set the name of the profile.
I rooted and debloated my phone of annoying apps a couple months ago. Apparently I went a step too far and uninstalled an app related to voice recognition. (no backup, unfortunately) I thought it was unneeded and just recently realized it crippled my ability to use voice recognition. The stock keyboard shows the mic button, but does nothing when pressed. Google keyboard wont show the mic and in google keyboard settings the "voice input key" option is greyed and says "No voice input methods enabled. Check language and input settings." There are no settings related to it in language and input settings. Other apps don't work or say my phone isn't capable of voice recognition. I did use voice recognition from the stock keyboard when I first had the phone and it worked fine. I can't think of anything else I did to cause this. I updated the UI to the latest but that didn't replace the file. I really want to avoid resetting and flashing roms so I would love to find that app and just install it again. I remember it having the words, voice, speech, or something similar. I need a list of system files so I can compare it to mine and see what I'm missing. I looked around but couldn't manage to do it.
