I am experiencing problems after installing wm6 on my treo 750v
- i go 2006 got shrinked screen
- agenda one is jamming the system
- phone changed from unlocked to locked for vodaphone only
My question is how to solve all this. As updates from different suppliers are not yet adapted for wm6, I suggest that downgrading to wm5 is the best alternative. It is just ...... how to fix this ? I checked this forum, without success.
As I expect other will be having the same problem, the best thing is probably to start new post and ask the more brighter people on this forum to help.
So: please help, how to downgrade treo 750v wm6 to wm 5 ?
Thanks a lot on before hand !
Here is a solution.
done
thanks, with this reply and some other tips on the forum I managed to get wm6 working perfectly.
I can not reproduce the trick exactly but here's some points.
1. I used the extrom unlockers procedure on the forum, see wikipedia treo 750v on this forum
2. used this file T750URT.exe, see link: http://www.palm.com/nz/support/downloads/treo/750vupdate_recovery.html
Afterwards phone worked again, agenda one worked.
However, the screen size problem with igo unfortunately remains, so I had to install tomtom, which did not have the problem
Sorry for the iGo problem but glad that your device work again.

Wait a tick.....a firmware upgrade shouldn't lock your phone if it's already been unlocked.

Please help, does anyone have a link to the update recovery tool?
thanks
Update Recovery Tool for Treo 750v
I like the look of O2 XDA Orbit 2 much more than that of HTC Touch Cruise. And I'd like to buy it. But the problem is that it is not adapted for my country (Belarus).
I've looked through some threads of the forum but failed to form a complete opinion on some issues. So I want to ask a "direct" question:
Is it possible to buy a UK version of Orbit 2 and make the following changes:
1. Make it "understand" (correctly display) Russian and Belorusian symbols?
2. Make it correctly sort my Contacts (mainly Cyrillic) and display Russian alphabet in the right "search bar" in Contacts.
3. Get a standart 20-key Touch keyboard with at least Russian and English symbols (with specific Belarussian and German symbols accessible through "additional chars"). Possibly with "quick" switching between the Rus/Eng layouts.
4. Get at least Russian and English xT9.
And two more questions:
5. Is it possible to get Unlocked versions of Orbit 2?
6. Is there any GPS Navigation program that supports Belarusian maps? Not only main international roads, but normal city navigation?
I'm eager to recieve your comments.
I belive, there's a Russian ROM for the Polaris (or will be), and that should sort out most of your problems...
Resco Keyboard supportos several Cyrillic keyboard layouts, and there is a Russian t9 cab file posted already.
For the GPS... maybe iGO would support your country. At least it does whith most of the countries around our parts...
Thanks.
I'll give iGO a closer examination.
Concerning Russian ROM: of course I'll flush Russian ROM as soon as I find one. But the question is, wil - be able to achieve the results I want by installing different .cabs BEFORE I get Russain ROM?
And by the way, what "specific O2" programs do I loose flushing a Polaris (Touch Cruise) ROM on O2 Orbit 2 (like "Profiles" Home plug-in available on Orbit 2)? And is there any way to preserve/re-install them?
Still the question about unlocking: is there a way to buy unlocked Orbit 2 in UK or should I unlock it myself?
As far as i know, you'll have to unlock it yourself... there's a thread concerning th subject: link
Sorry, but I can't help whith the cabs, but there may be more clues in the Polaris upgrading etc. forum. I know the have similar threads (about greek language ). Maybe they can help you.
For the programs... you can always copy the cabs in the windows folder to your PC, that way you'll have the O2 programs (at least some of them). I have an original Polaris, so I don't know much about the O2 Apps...
Here's a quick list based on my exp applying Jp to the Eng rom.
1 Yes
2 No
3 Yes - 3rd party

Hi there,
I'm new here but got so much out of this forum so I'm happy I can give something back to the community - though it's mainly interesting for the German folks.
After many hours I finally figured out how to activate the display of the home zone on the stock HTC Touch Pro as on the branded O2 XDA Diamond Pro.
1. Install the missing manila files "1bf4fdc4_manila", "5e8e48df_manila" and "6b3eaf1e_manila" which are included in the O2 branded ROM to your windows folder using total commander e.g..
2. Create the following registry keys and entries (e.g. with TaskManager or any other registry editor for PPC):
a) Under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC" create a key named "HZI".
Under this key put the following entries:
"HZService version"="1.30.30448"
"Type"=dword:00000000
"Tag"=""
"LACIn2G"=dword:00000001
Under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services" create a key named "HZService".
Under this key put the following entries:
"DLL"="HZService.dll"
"Prefix"="HZS"
"Keep"=dword:00000001
"Order"=dword:00000008
"Index"=dword:00000000
Under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM" create a key named "MASD".
Under this key put the following entries:
"HZService_O2DE"="1_30_30448_0"
3. Restart TouchFlo3D or Touch Pro itself.
That's it, the home zone symbol and the word "home" will be shown in the left top area at the same height as the operator logo (usually there is the date shown which moves underneath the big clock and is then situated right to the alarm clock). The same symbol but a in a small version will also be shown on the telephone screen left to the "backspace" symbol in the top area.
IMPORTANT: O2 currently does NOT support home zone display when registered in their 3G network (UMTS) but only in GSM, so either put your phone in GSM mode only or use the tone indicator offered by O2. To figure that out it took me quite a while since my phone was set to automatic and during testing never showed the symbol though it was correctly set up ...
Hope that helps a couple of you out there since that information I could not find anywhere on the web.
CU,
Vampyre
UPDATE: Okay, I got it now working on 3G as well - it turned out to be an O2 issue, not the Touch Pro's fault or anything on my side. For all having trouble with display of the symbol in 3G: Call the hotline and let them open a trouble ticket for you stating the problem. Maybe you'll have to try several times but it actually works. Currently it only stops working when in 3G mode HSDPA is available and shown on the TP display. But I'm working on that as well...

Okay, since I don't have a XDA I cannot verify that. I got that information straight from the O2 hotline. But if you can I would appreciate an export of your registry to check if that can help to solve the issue as well as a copy of the "HZService.dll" located in the windows folder.
CU,
Vampyre
Could you please send me a CAB file? Thanks in advance.

Under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\HZI" I have an additional entry named "HZService version" and the REG_SZ value "1.30.30448" and the entry "Tag" has the value "home". All other entries are identical to the entries you decribed above.
The missing homezone indicator could also be a SIM problem. I had this problem (missing indicator in 2G and/or 3G mode) several times when I got a new SIM (replacement or new multicard). Then the service hotline resent the homezone coordinates (once they had to send it 3 times) to my mobile (logged in to 3G network) and all worked perfect.

Okay, the tag value is set during the operation of the DLL, so it's "home" on mine too. The second entry I do have too; I just forgot to mention it in the first posting (gotta to add it).
Okay, the SIM might be a problem too, so I'll try your procedure as well (hopefully it's not the same person on the phone as when calling the first time and getting the above stated information about the lacking support for home zone in 3G).
The DLL is identical to mine, thanks for sending it anyway.;-)
I'd still like to compare my whole registry to yours...;-)

Here you go. Please check if it works as expected, i.e. also means the installation because it's my first cab file I set up.
Doesnt work on XDA Orbit 2 (Polaris)

Actually this cab is only meant to be for the HTC Touch Pro aka Raphael as is the forum in which this post is located ;-)
If it can work for your Orbit 2 as well I cannot tell, but since you don't have the TouchFlo3D interface I doubt it.

Still no homezone icon on my today screen but on my contacts and dial screen of iPhone! Seems to be at the same places like in the original dialer. Thats all I need.
thanks

Thanks for your kind reply and cab file. I am using xda diamond, windows 6.1.
I am unsuccessful in installing on my device. My phone was already saying that this application is not suitable for my ROM.
Could you please provide the cab file for xda diamond.
EDIT: Whoops, I should have read the whole thread. @mods: please delete this post, it was redundant.

Hmm, as I already stated, I've never made up a cab file before and I'm pretty new to this PDA stuff, so maybe somebody with more experience in making cabs could check what has to be done to make it work on Diamond Pro?
UPDATE: I guess I could fix the CAB now as I got more insight on this process...Could you try it out?
Thanks for your post. But my phone was unable to install this CAB.
Okay, here we go again, another try with the CAB. At least on mine it seems to install.
Thanks for trying.

I tried it on my Herald / Xda terra and didnt work as well :-( I dunno what the difference between the models is, but I also use Manila 2D (OpenTouch 7.7. ROM). Which program can I use to edit the registry? TaskManager didnt work here... Sorry, I seem to be quite untalented..
As I already stated, this method and DLL are *O*N*L*Y* valid for Touch Pro and Diamond. It needs TouchFlo3D to work. Manila 2D as well as other interfaces to WM will probably not work.
TaskManager works for me, but there are other registry editing tools out there. BTW, with TaskManager a separate tool and not the in Manila integrated task manager is meant.
I own HTC touch pro 2 (win mobile 6.1.; touchFLo Vs. 3.0 - it should be the same as touchFlo3d?). It is new (seems to be produced 05-2009) and unbranded.
I tried your cab. It installs and the registry entries are as you wrote in the beginning of this thread. I copied HZService.dll to the windows folder and restarted.
It does not work at all. What the heck could be the problem?
Hope this thread isn't closed yet.
Greetings from Berlin, Germany
Are you in a HSDPA area? As in previous posts noted the cab will not work when in HSDPA mode. A workaround is to disable the display of the "H" symbol which will give you the home zone icon but no "H" icon any more (though HSDPA speed when available will remain as quoted by other users).
CU,
Cactus World
I am in Berlin, Germany. This should be a HSDPA area but I always only have "G" on my phone. Any other ideas?
Hi,
I bought an O2 XDA Diamond Pro and flashed the original German HTC ROM today. Everything works great but I miss the original QWERTZ-SIP from Windows Mobile. The one in this ROM lacks the first row with the numeric keys. With the O2 ROM everything was fine.
Can anybody send me the msimde.dll and the msimde.192.dll from any German WM6.1 ROM?
Or can I extract those from the O2 ROM file?
Thanks for any help,
Oliver
Forget it... I am too stupid. My SIP was configured to show the big letters.
I use the small letters now and all is fine
Hi Guys
I recently sent my HTC touch plus (MDA Touch Plus) for some structural repair to t-mobile and before returning they updated my software from WM6.0 to 6.1. Since then I am having some problem with my phone book. Whenever I am recieving a text message or phone call, it comes with sender's phone number with addition of country code (0044) as a result my phone can't recognise the caller even if its stored in my phone. I tried to download Window Mobile 6.0 but its not happening. Any expert comments about it......thanks
any ideas how can i change it to WM6
Search in Touch Dual ROOM.
