I had Universal with TML 7.7, and saved my contacts. Which program was used to backup? I would like to restore these to my new raphael.
Thanks

Sunnysoft Backup Manager.
Does what it needs to do.
I use it for FULL backups to be able to revert quickly to previous setup or recover fast from hard reset.
It is able to create self-executable backup files.
Sprite Back-up. Install it and forget it.
Restores superbly from executable back-up file.
Has saved me a few times and I wouldn't be without it.
hey guys any backup software which actually saves ur backup on the desktop pc and then restore it from the desktop pc itself ??
sprite backup (Y) AWESOME !! thats the one i was loookin for (Y)
thanks mindracing
Can Sprite backup SMS?
it didnt restore sms' messages wen i performed a hard reset... :s
How affective is using activesync for backups?
i used to use the activesync backup option but then had a few data curruptions
i now backup to my sd card using the xbackup program that came with the device.
it seems to restore my sms files aswell
xbackup restore
I did a xbackup on my device and then I went for the upgrade to the official final version UK O2 1.72.81 with Blackberry. Everything went smoothly but after the restore backup (it even restored sms, mms and e-mails, in short, the lot!) now my device is back in the original configuration although I now have Rom version 1.72.00WWE instead of the old 1.60.00WWE.
Is there an other way to restore a backup? I don't care about SMS MMS and stuff, I only want to keep settings as BT GPS, Internet GPRS settings, tt3 Navigator settings and so on. Contacts and Agenda are stored on the PC anyway. And I wanna use the Blackberry which was on it after the upgrade but is gone after the restore.
Or should I simply re flash the ROM and reenter all data for settings manually?
Thanks for helping

I've just installed TomTom Nav5 on my MDAIII, and will be going on holiday driving through France and Spain. I've had TomTom Nav3 do a hard reset on me before, when I took a call. So I need a backup system just in case it happens (god forbid) while we are away.
Am I right in thinking Sprite Backup will do a 'complete' backup of my device (everything), so if the thing hard resets I can just restore it without the need of a PC, and it will be as it was, programs, files, emails, sms etc?
If so, how do I restore from a backup from the SD card, if the device is back to factory settings, ie without Sprite Backup installed?
Thanks for your help
Rich
you put the spirite backup cab files in the extented rom so they auto install after a hardreset
Thanks for the reply!!
I don't 'play' with my MDAIII. How do I put it in the extended rom? iis that the 'storage' folder?
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_RomKitchen
I don't think Extended ROM has enough space to store the backup file.. Anyway, u can still restore without Sprite Backup installed (handy after hard reset of course).. Just check 'Create self-restoring backup files' in General Backup Options..
i dont think he want to backup into the extented rom i think he want to backup on a SD card but his spritite backup is not installed after a hardreset so he want it to autoinstall so he can restore from the sdcard
You can create self installing .exe backup files with Sprite Backup, no need to add anything in the Ext rom.
Open Sprite Backup -> Options -> Backup Options -> General Backup Options -> Create self restoring backup files, tick this options.
Now you make a backup to your SD/MMC card
i would like to add the sprite backup cap to my extended rom, but i only have the software to install from a PC not a sprite cab file,
i also have a ipaq 4700 and this after a hard rest installs sprite, so should i try and get into the extended rom on the ipaq 4700 and copy the sprite cab from there
Thanks

how can i make a 1:1 copy of my sms to my pc and copy it back then i have flash the qtek with a new rom ?
Use PIM Backup utility found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299705
You can use this to backup SMS or any PIM data to a storage card and then restore following flash of new ROM
I backup my device WM 2003 using SPB BACKUP
and i restore it to HTCMAG_ROM_WWE_O3 and only notice it does not work.
All i need now is PIM and SMS how to extract out ?.
OK i roll back to 2003 and restore the sms.. how to backup the sms to restore in WM6.1 ?
use PIM Backup program.
ALSO I CLEAR SAY THAT YOU SHOULD NOT RESTORE ANY BACKUPS ON NEW ROMS!
Restored using pim backup.
all the sent item corrupted.
Well nevermind atleast the contact working
I have been looking everywhere for a way to back up everything that I have installed on my Fuze. I want to upgrade to the latest 6.5 rom but i dont want to lose all my installed stuff. Can anyone help?

This is a great backup application. However I have this problem: After accidentally performing a Sprite backup, the PIM back up doesn't work. I can't delete the program and reinstalling it returns the same problem. Any help in gettin PIM backup to work again would be appreciated, Thanks

Have you tried re-installing PIM backup? Or maybe install to storage card instead of to your device. I installed mine to my storage card and I just run it from my storage card and create a new backup file in my storage card when I use it. When installed on my storage card it doesn't appear in my "programs" tab (I'm using Showaco's "All Programs App") so I just click on the file for PIM Backup in my storage card files. Hope this is helpful.
