Screen automatically switching off after x amount of time. - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Do you guys use this feature? I just recently turned this off because I found pressing the power button annoying everytime I pull my phone out of my pocket. However how much more battery will it consume by not turning this off? Or is there no difference?

Power always stays on

Guys, I installed a few apps recently, and now it seems my power always stays on, even though the screen and backlight turn off. This makes the device burn through the battery in 4-5 hours instead of days. How can I find out which app is causing this? Any idea?

HTC Touch Pro power on button problem

Hi guys, I find this quite annoying and wish there is a mod for this. I don't know about other HTC Touch Pro owners but i find my fone quite sensitive.........it's "EASILY" turned on but a single "SHORT" press of the power button.
I didn't even hold it for 1 second, if i suddenly press or tap on it really quick, for not even a second, it turns on.
In case ppl don't understand and tell me that maybe my fone was on in the first place but just have the backlight off, and with a single tap on the power button, the backlight goes back on again. I knew that already. But what the problem really is, is that it's totally off, and when i tap the power on button, it turns on, i.e it vibrates and shows the welcome screen and all that other startup animation.
Is there a way to increase the delay of the finger-press on the power button? Coz it's so annoying that it gets turned on when i don't want it to, especially since this fone's weakness is that it hogs battery even though i've already applied tons of tweaks etc to lower the performance and increase battery life......

[Q] Backlight Management App

Hello all,
First of all, apologies if this is in the wrong forum.
I have an HTC EVO 4G on Sprint. I am looking for an app that will manage the backlight in a way more like Windows Mobile's own built-in management. Here's what I am looking for more specifically. When charging or plugged in, the backlight should be full brightness and the screen should never dim or turn off. When on battery, the backlight could be set to dim after xx minutes, or not dim. The device should then shut the screen off after xx minutes.
With Android's built-in settings, all I can come up with is the setting for the screen to never sleep when charging, which is oddly placed under Applications -> Development. The screen timeout setting applies to both battery and charging statuses.
Why? When the phone is plugged in, I like to be able to quickly glance at it for time or notifications. I don't like having to hit the power button to check these. When on battery, the phone is usually in my pocket so taking it out and pressing the power button are almost one motion. It saves battery as well.
Also, in the car, I always have the phone charging. I've noticed that some GPS and other programs will keep the backlight on, but others will not. I've seen some applications just allow the backlight to dim, so I have to keep touching the display to wake it up.
Does such an application exist? If not, doesn't anyone else want to see such an application made?
This is one of the little things that I miss about Windows Mobile 6.5.

app to enable touch with the screen off?

tried searching various places and could only find apps that turn the screen off, but nothing that would turn it back on.
is it possible to have the screen respond to touch while completely off? or is setting the brightness super low the only way to do it?
thanks.
Why would you need/want an app to do this?
saves the battery and power button.

Click to collapse
Yes, I use the App called: "Lock Screen"
Well, it only works to lock and shut off the screen...hopefully giving your power button a longer life time!
Just my two cents, but it seems to me that in order for the touch screen to be responsive when it's off, it would technically have to be on...right? Which would waste the battery.... I don't think the power button on the Fire is so fragile that you need an app to turn it on when it's off. If you're rooted though, you should try "button savior" in the market. It basically has virtual "home" "back" and "power" buttons.

Any way to make watch only turn on with button press?

Hi. I was wondering if the watch can be set up to only turn on when a button is pressed. Right now, I have it set up to turn on when turning my wrist. This is good, but there are times that it comes on when doing other things.
Thanks.

There is an option in settings - device.. ?
From S5
Settings>Device> Wake-up gesture (off)
Perfect! Thanks a lot. For some reason, I thought that shutting this off would just always leave the watch on. Instead it stays on for something like ten seconds and then shuts itself off.
Excellent!
You can turn it off even quicker by just putting two fingers (as opposed to your whole hand) over the screen should you want to preserve as much batt as possible..
