it says not in stock.

The 3000mAh HLI-P3700XL is expected to ship in the second week of november 2008 and it looks like it isn't designed for the Touch Diamond Pro.
But Mugen Power batteries claim their original 2000mAh HLI-P3700ML and 3000mAh HLI-P3700XL work well with GPS and that these are not the same as as the Power-Cell Ultra's.

i remember the guy from Mugen saying that GPS will not be affected.
dont blame me if it is tho!

I have ordered one from Mugen on the 7th of November. Knowing that there will be delay in shipment as it is out of stock. Although Mugen stated clearly that it is expected to be shipped in the second week of November, I kept waiting calmly. Until three days ago, I tried to contact Mugen through email asking the status of my order but with no reply. Kind of depress and have no idea when could expect shipment. Just wait...wait...wait...forever.

No problem on offering comment..............only if I could "really" get my battery.

here is the mail mugen power batteries sent me:
In regards of availability, we will start shipping batteries at the end of next week. However, due to the popularity of pre-orders for this model of battery, we will have no available stock until middle of December.
The new batteries will not have any GPS reception issues and the delay in shipping was due to another improvement to the battery cover which provide about 15% faster GPS reception. As soon as the battery is released, we will send some to independent magazines and journalists for review purposes.

Anyone got one of these babies?
I'd preorder, but need a T-Mobile MDA Compact IV back cover.

i ordered one of these except way uglier. i got the one with the rectangular bulge cover on the back and its also a 3000mah. gives me roughly double the battery life. lasts about 2 days (36 hours, charge overnight until morning, leaves it on overnight, lasts throughout the rest of second day) if you use internet/email and call a lot.

3000 mah wow
this thing can start car Engine

What about the GPS? Is is still sensing as many satelites? Can you get a fix?

looks pretty ugly I'll stick with the htc extended battery

looks ugly and big, the cover is bad
I've got my Mugen 3000mA yesterday.
I believe the battery itself is great, but the rear cover is really ugly.
It is made by very "normal" plastic and gives a "cheap" aspect to the device.
... and it is big.
... and the cover is not very stable, sometimes it opens in the left upper corner.
GPS works, but takes longer time to fix. before in my car I was getting fix for 10 seconds (aGPS ON and updated QuickGPS). This morning it took 3-4 minutes.

Here you are

wow nice pictures
i really like this battery
i can say from these pictures the thicknes size will be like the Raphael
in other words , diamond size + 3000mah battery = Raphael size
am i right idimdim ?

I would say it is double the depth of the standard diamond.
Now I am looking for a silicone skin that can fit the giant ...
Should be very stretchable or for another device
Any ideas, anyone?

Extended Battery

Well, I've gone ahead and pulled the trigger on an extended battery and back cover for my S710 since I got it used and the battery is half way after a full day usage and I need more since I'm not always near a charger for a few days - though I am happy it can charge via miniUSB since most people have one for their digital cameras.
So I shall update once I receive it and we shall see truly how uncomfortable it will be with the larger battery door. And it was only $25 shipped on eBay. 2250mAh of goodness will soon be arriving.

you mind putting up some pictures of how it looks with the extended battery? side views, and comparisons with the orgiinal side by side shots if possible.
oh and what kind use do you use it for, do you have bluetooth on, wifi on? or both off? etc.

I have mine already a couple of days. By mistake they send me the wrong lid , I got the one from the S630. Wow, what a biiiig device that is. I'm happy having a Vox
So, they immediately send me another cover, waiting for it now to arrive....
Woah, looks big with the extended battery and cover on it, lol. Hopefully it's still useable. birdibird, when you get your cover - post up some pics, also if you could tell us where you got it, how much and if your new cover still has the rubbery HTC feel to it (when it arrives).
I'll post up some pics of mine when it comes in!
I was wondering how many days of use do you have with those 2250-2300MAh batteries??
I read that someone bought them from megacapacity, others from eBay, others from gpsforless, and others from BoxWave
Can we make list from what of those batteries bought from where, went good and waht went bad?? also advising the other from wich ebayers we should not buy?
Is it allowed by the forum's rules?
Think it would be usufull to everyone
I bought one from eBay and one from BoxWave. They are both the exact same thing. I also still have mine for sale, used for roughly one week. The only subtle issue with them both - is that the contact pads are recessed too much. I had to pad them with copper in order for the pins on the Vox to reach properly. You can also pull the pins out of the Vox a few mm which will assist.
Thanks H4waii
for your cooperation!
ANy other experiences?? Fro what I remeber you where quite a few who bought an extended battery...
Hello! I use extended battery for about a year. What to say... It gives me a chance not to think bout battery at last one day using Vox (calls, GPRS, music, reading and also playing games).
To say, I'm going to buy one more extended battery, because ... I like my Vox but such battery can disappear from the market...

High quality Mugen Power 2000 mah battery (looks really good!)

Straight from the Mugen Power website. Free world-wide shipping (non-EU countries get it 12 bucks cheaper): http://www.mugenpowerbatteries.info.../es109514_es120302495377/Products/HLI-P3700ML
The back-cover looks quite good. I sent them an email asking whether the back-cover is indeed the one they show in the pictures.
A similar or identical product (although picture is different) at the UK shop mobilefun.co.uk: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/17413.htm
(I posted in several threads about the latter, apologies to the mods).
liamhere has purchased the latter from mobilefun.co.uk and said he'll be back with details and hopefully pics: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2739093
I also spoke with mobilefun.co.uk on the phone and they were incredibly helpful (and nice). They said they'll call back after they check the warehouse ... and they did! They actually measured the whole thing and described the battery and the back case:
- the Diamond with the new battery and cover is 17 mm thick.
- they said the battery is indeed of high quality and that if i'm not happy with the performance then they will offer a full refund or an exchange.
- the battery itself is about 9.5-10 mm thick and pretty hefty they said.
- the back cover is not the original HTC BP E270 but is all flat along the device (not like the ones with an ugly hump) and feels solid and of high quality. I actually prefer a flat back-cover so that the TD becomes more usable when sitting on a desk.
- the camera hole is a conic inset and he said it should not cause any bottom shades in pictures from the looks of it
It all sounds good. The first link to the Mugen Power website battery looks better than what mobilefun.co.uk described but I would kind of prefer a flat back cover. I'm eagerly waiting for liamhere's feedback.
Cheers
Does the gps work with this battery?
i haven't got one yet so i don't know ... i'm waiting for liamhere's feedback; (s)he purchased the one from mobilefun.co.uk and will post some feedback
i still don't know if the two batteries and back covers are the same. mobilefun.co.uk says it's "Power-Cell" and that is backed up by the Mugen Power tech. Also, the mobilefun.co.uk rep said the back cover is flat while the Mugen Power picture (1st link) shows a diamond-like cover.
i'm also very interested whether gps works
Thank you for your reply.....we shall wait for his input. Thanks anyway.

tested it all morning and no joy
you have been warned
oh man!! That one does not work either
I bought one 1900mah battery on ebay and gps doesn't work either I am really burned out with this device.
-Poor signal
-Short battery life
-GPS issue.
I am going to get my HTC Tmobile G1 with Android the 22nd and if it works I will sell the Diamond....I miss my Trinity.
Thanks for your input.
I wouldn't necessarily assume that the Mugen version affects the GPS in the same way - the version sold by Mobilefun is well documented in the way it makes GPS not work; I don't believe that the 2 are the same product even if they look similar (the Mugen back cover looks more like the official back cover for a start).
Of course, it might still break the GPS, but don't assume it does.
Will it fit/work in the Sprint diamond
The sprint diamond is already .6inches which is about 17-16mm so i wonder if this battery would fit without any extra thickness? I e-amiloed them today and when they respond I will also ask about the GPS

Herewith we would like to stress that the 2000mAh HLI-P3700ML and the upcoming 3000mAh HLI-P3700XL Mugen Power batteries for the HTC Touch Diamond do NOT affect the working of the GPS in the device. We must clarify that the GPS function of our model HLI-P3700ML is actually very good indeed.
Please be aware the Power-Cell Ultra Battery is NOT a Mugen Power product and we advise you to buy Mugen Power batteries only from authorized Mugen Power distributors and resellers.

1350mAh Battery Extension = Thicker phone or what?

Hi!
I just can't seem to get a real answer.
Iwant a higher capacity battery *without*making my phone thicker/larger. What battery can I get or do all the higher capacity batteries make it thicker?
Thanks!
Thicker!
My guess is that if HTC could have fitted a higher capacity battery, without making the device any bigger, they would have done so.
Battery life issues have been discussed since day 1 (May last year, when the Diamond was first released). It seems HTC went with sexy sleekness over long-life battery. In my opinion, they made the right choice!
The HTC 1340mah battery makes it 3mm thicker, but its still looks good.
here are some pics...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436648&highlight=1340
I would not trust these batteries you see on ebay from HK. I got one for my old magican and it does not last as long and drains fast when its below ~40%.
Thanks for clearing things up!
cant believe they charge best part of £55 for that, should be more like £20!!
anyone know where i can buy just the back cover mine kinda the baby got his hands on it and it broke in half i need the back battery cover only if anyone can help i looked everywere and cant seem to find just that i have the 1340mah battery just need the cover
Well i just order mine and i love it. Its just 3mm thicker you will not notice the zie increase and the rubbery feel is great. Also the juice will last longer.
I received mine for my mda IV last monday and after a week of use, it was worth every penny. It took a day or 2 to get use to the 3mm addition but i now get 2-3 days use out of my phone between charges were before i barley got 1. Highly advise everyone with battery issues to get one!!!

I found some pictures of the BP E270.
The official HTC extended battery is well worth the money.
IMHO, it looks MUCH better thickness-wise (I find the Diamond too thin and it hurts my palm during extended use).
It DEFINITELY feels better with the included rubberized matte battery cover.
Mind you, I'm coming from a Touch Pro (a car drove over it -- sniff) and I loved it years beyond this Diamond I replaced it with.

And the stylus holder is a positive point ( Imiss it a lot!!!)
I'm happy with my new 2 Mugen 1300mAh + 1 Toshiba 1000 mAh, but the main advantage of having all the capacity together in a single battery comes from the silly Toshiba's policy of leaving us without USB/WIFI/Camera when battery is under 20%

Look at the air under that battery cover, can you imagine, if they used Lithium Polymer instead, and filled all that space for the purpose of being a battery how high the capacity could be

1300 Mugen seems to put pressure on the screen???
I got the replacement battery from Mugen that kinda fits the current back of the phone. But it seems to PUT undo pressure on the screen from behind that I fear over time will damage the screen (rainbow effect). It is thicker than the old battery and I noticed a rainbow effect right over where the battery is located so I took it out right away.
Reading other forums on the rainbow effect, I think the back cover needs to be slightly larger to accommodate even the 1300 mugen or I think it will damage the screen.
Prior to inserting the battery I never had any rainbow swipe effect and since removing it I have not had any. I was very disappointed about this and would love to have the extra power.

I have two 1300mAh Mugen since December, and it's all OK. It's true that this battery is a bit higher than de original, but this extra pressure goes to the thin plastic cover, not to the screen. The only problem is that closing the corver (always not easy in this device) becomes even more difficult.
Best regards

Mugen 4500mAh Extended Battery for G2X

Look what I found on Mugen's international site. Of course it has a new back cover for the phone because the battery is so chubby. But 4500mAh, dang!

thanks for the link but NO WAY! $100+ is way to rich for my blood...
i just ordered 2 of these. i like the idea plus they are solar and charge all my gadgets on top of my phone. and shipping from china is 22 for dhl but they are worth it and are the size or smaller than our phone! holds almost twice the charge with multiple voltages including 3.7v which is ours.
Total was around $52 after shipping but just sell one or keep the other for twice as much! ill repost this link in thread.

Too expensive and UGLY
Wow, out if my budget.
I could buy 3 external batteries including shipping, for that.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
look at the back cover on that thing and then the shape of the batter! what a waste of space!
I am sorry but I get plenty of juice out of my battery, i dont know what i would do with a battery twice the size let alone three times the size of my current one... that **** would last all week without needing a recharge!
honestly for the same price, little bigger and more juice i could just lug around a mini nuclear reactor... where is tony stark when you need him? im trying to hook my phone up with that mini arc reactor bro!
Yeah, that is way too bulky for the size. If they wanted to extend the back of it, why wouldnt they make the battery a sort of P shape that extends further up the back so it doesnt have to bulge as much?
I MIGHT buy a battery that only makes the back case flush with the camera. I already dont like that camera hump on the back, so a battery that only needed to extend that much or a tiny bit more would be perfect. Maybe like a 2500mAh?
Thread cleanup, back on topic please.
My question here is this: Is it completely safe to use this battery?
I'm thinking perhaps in the future I might want to buy one because I deplete my battery extremely fast with constant use. The only thing I'm worried about is if it will hurt my phone in any way.

you know I was thinking this too, but I did watch some reviews on youtube on their other 4500 mah extended batteries for other android phone models. It doesn't look that bad, infact it seems to make the phones look like a tiny miniature powerhouse PCs from the future.
Right now it says their sold out and will get new stock in June, I'm definitley gonna get one. If like the reviews say that some people don't have to charge this extended battery after 3 days of heavy use then I'll be in G2x heaven. Infact, I would bet as LG was in the design proces for the phone that they were shooting for a phone that could last for 3-5 days on one battery charge, but since marketing research thinks consumers will only buy a slim form factor cell phone, they opted to cut corners on performance for cosmetics, which absolutley sucks in my opinion.
just ordered it. Will post a review once I receive it.
I ordered the 4800 one for my atrix as well. I just received that one today. Will try it out when I get home!

Just wanted to ask though, I saw that they were out of stock and that they'd get more in stock and if I ordered on that certain day I looked on the site, I would get it on June 3rd. I looked at the site again and it said if I ordered that day I'd get it on the 10th, now I checked again today and it said if I ordered I'd get it on the 6th. What gives with all the different ship dates?
You also said you just got the 4800 for your Atrix.
When did you order that one and how long did it take for you to recieve it?
How was it shipped out to you, UPS or USPS?
How did you purchase, with credit card or paypal?
How professional are they and quality of the product?
Does the product come with a specific charger?
And how long did your Atrix last on standard battery and how long does the Mugen battery last?
Sorry for the questions, I'm just very interested in this battery and I'm so ready to purchase, just waiting till they get it in stock, before I ordered, although I'm so anxious just to put in the order now and wait for them to ship it out to me on the proposed date a couple weeks later. But is that wise?

Check the forums for an easy to build tester. I tested a few, and stock batteries for g2 and vibrant, none of the extended ones lived up to their claims. They had more capacity, but not what they claimed, and some caused instability. Stock oem tested within 5%. Extended varied wildly, best being about 25% shy of stated. Imo, that's false advertising at best.
I still have the tester set up. Ship me a battery and I'll test it for you if you like. I'll even pay to ship it back to you, but I will post about it here if you do. Personally, I'm not wasting any more money on them for myself.

I ordered it on 5/13 and received it on 5/20

Came via USPS
How did you purchase, with credit card or paypal?
I used paypal. Had no issues

The quality of the product is awesome. At least so far. This is my second Mugen battery. I had one for the nexus one as well. worked just fine. The one for the atrix ROCKS right now. On average usage (with stock battery) I would get about 1.5 days. With the Mugen, I hit 3 days with 1 full charge under the same usage pattern
Does the product come with a specific charger?
Nope. Just the battery and the back cover.
And how long did your Atrix last on standard battery and how long does the Mugen battery last?
1.5 days vs. 3 days

By the way, I had a Milestone as well, which also had an extended battery but from Seidio, and that battery i was NOT happy with. Did not add anything in addition to the stock.
The only way to test a battery is using an external load / voltmeter jig. Based on my past experience with Mugen, their 4500mAh battery will test out much lower, my bet is somewhere around 3400mAh. Just enough to make you feel like you got value for your money. Theres no way the average consumer can compare battery life using the phone itself.

Yup you're right. I do not have a voltmeter handy so I'm just relaying my observations.
So far, it's been good (I'm still talking about the Mugen Atrix battery since I haven't reeived the G2x one yet). Far better than the stock battery (not just by a couple of hours but by days) so I'm happy

I'll pay a hundred bucks to get at least 2-3 days on one charge. Anything to get rid of this miserable battery life that makes you feel anxiety when you're away from an outlet, especially if you use the G2x like I do which is on the internet constantly browsing and watching vids and playing vid games.
Although on another note, auto airplane mode does indeed make the phone somewhat viable and stops the drastic bleeding when the phone is not being used, and I also notice that under settings> accounts & sync> background data turned off also helps very much with the horrible battery drain when on standby.
Tmobile has sent me a replacement battery which I had to pay $10 shipping, so I might recieve it on the 3rd of June, I'll hold off on the Mugen 4500 mah and see how the replacement from tmobile goes and play around with the other settings I just mentioned. I just don't like the idea of switching out the batteries each time. Gonna put wear and tear on the battery cover and all, so even though I have an extra battery, I'm still considering the Mugen extended.

I know exactly what you mean! That is the reason I was willing to spend $100+ on a battery because I didn't want to bother carrying extra batteries all the time or swapping them out or worry about charging each one..
I have one, lasts me 3+ days and don't have to swap anything.
Might not be ideal for most people, might be heavy but hey... it's perfect for me
Without a doubt, there is value in having a battery that can last 2 or 3 days. I've purchased large capacity batteries from Mugen and Seidio, and happily used them.
But, for the price paid for these batteries, I also expected to get what was advertised in terms of mAh rating. It irritates me that these companies feel that they can just print whatever inflated rating they want on these batteries and there is no consequence for them.
Heres what I've determined: High quality OEM batteries I've used in the last 4 years all have been around 1500mAh, as that seems to be the sweet spot in terms of size vs capacity for a phone manufacturer. Mugen & Seidio use cheaper cells, typically 1200mAh for the same physical dimensions as the OEM cell. From there, its simple math, 2 cells equals 2400mAh (not the 3000mAh stamped on the sticker. My guess, without even looking at a picture, is that the Mugen 4500mAh battery is a 3 cell unit with a real capacity of 3600mAh.
3600mAh is not a bad setup, I'd throw $100 for it. But I'd still be irritated.
What would be really nice is the manufacturer giving us the option of buying another cell, the stock oem battery with a replacement back that had a charge balance circuit and anything else it would need to be reliable. Known good cells, just an extra one.
