hi,
i've installed a version of htc home vga (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351553 if i remember correctly). when i switch from portrait to landscape, my ui updates almost instantly but the htc home portion of the screen takes minutes to update if at all.
does anyone else have a fully-working version of htc home for vga/ wvga ?
failing that, can anyone suggest a lightweight home screen plugin that can easily be setup to have something similar to the first 3 tabs of htc home - status / applications / contacts ?
thanks in advance

Try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406418
It works perfect for me (VGA)
Good luck
thanks for the post. i get the same issue with that one so i'm assuming that it must be a problem with htc home and wvga.
many thanks for taking the time to post.

Brilliant

it's so small on the screen... i wish it was bigger
I believe there is a newer version of HTC Action Screen in US version of HTC Touch dual. It has a cool sliding animation when activated.
Check this video (at 1:08)
http://www.pdasnews.com/articles/3945/1/
Search did not turn up anything. Has anyone extracted this already ?
Thanks in advance.
Does nobody know anything about this? I have been wondering aswell. And if there was a way to modify it so it does the same function when sliding out the keyboard on the Kaiser (landscape mode) Or if someone could develop a similar application with animations and skinning support.

Hi,
I have just the otherday managed to upgrade my HTC Touch to an actual official WM6.1 OS supplied by HTC (belive it or not!). Since I bought the phone in Bangkok I have had to wait for the relese of the HTC Thailand upgrade.
It included the ThouchFLO 2d (which I recon sux....can't change a thing about it), but I really liked the big clock in wm6.0. Is there a way to download a file somewhere to get the clock (a clock) to show up at the "settings/today/items"?
I have had a look at the Throttle launcher, M2D but can't really get any of them to work properly....anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
/F
my device:
HTC Touch P3452 ELF0100, WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.19972 (build 19972.1.2.7)
ROM 3.07.707.02 WWE, 10/25/08
Radio 03.34.90
Not sure what you mean about big clock but do a search for HTC Home plug-in (I think the latest cab is version 2.1) and see if that is what you are after. Otherwise, have you tried the Manila 2D customizer tool (M2DC)? I don't know if it works on shipped roms TF2D but it might let you change certain aspects of TF2D.
Good luck
Hi,
Yes sorry for being a bit unclear....what I ment was ofcourse the digital clock display at the HTC Default Home screen. I have tried the HTC Home plug-in but it, as for so many others (feedback) freezes and forces me to hard reset.
The problem occurs when I turn off the Touchflo 2D in favour of other themes, I get no option to display a clock on the today screen (under items to display). Hence downloaded themes comes out as plain as can be without anything but a background, start and bottom bar.
I would like to have a digital clock display as for the previous HTC Default Home screen....or similar clock at least.
I read somewhere that you could display/hide the clock by changing registry values under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\CHome\CClock, Disabled to 0, as per this website. I have chacked in that location but found no such registry value named cclock.
Staring to think I might be actually a bit stupid for missing something very simple.....you never know until someone tells you!
I hope I made myself a bit more clear...
/F
Well it sounds like you know what you are doing so I don't want to sound too "teachy". But what you are doing in the Item screen is turning off a Today plug-in (TF2D). AFAIK, everything that would appear on the Today screen is displayed as a plug-in. Your rom opted to show the TF2D plug-in. This plug-in overrides all others in the item screen so in order to use another plug-in, you must uncheck the TF2D plug-in. So with no plug-ins selected, you will have a blank Today screen.
There are several plug-ins you can install as alternatives to TF2D such as HTC Home, RLToday, etc. Just query Today plug-ins. Once installed you can initialise them from the Items screen. It is a little worrying that HTC Home crashes on your device. You might try a soft reset (small hole, poke with stylus) or uninstall it and reinstall it. It might be that you've run out of Program memory (Settings-->System--Memory). A soft reset will free it up again. I hope some of this is helpful.
Probs a simple (or stupid ) question, however -
I've just installed the TP2 update (wm 6.5/manilla 2.1 w/sense), just wondering how or what triggers the full screen weather effects on the calender/homepage?
I've seen screenshots and vids etc of the full screen effects but haven't actually seen them so far on the today page. Is there specific config or do they just "happen" on their own randomly.
Thanks in advance
Anyone have any ideas at all please?
It triggers when you leave the touch flo interface and then come back. try to click the HTC task manager(top right corner) to open the running program list and click it again to close it
I am currently testing the attached cab that enables Manila 2.5 to work in Landscape. It is not perfect but it works.
The bugs are as follows:
Music and photos tabs landscape are not proper
slow down the speed of manila while sliding to Home tab (from others tab)
What is working?
Home page in Landscape seems ok
Message in Landscape is perfect
Email tab seems ok
Stock seems perfect
Weather tab in landscape works
Settings tab in landscape works
What could be improved?
Internet tab could be improved
Calendar tab could be improved
Twitter tab could be improved
Footprint tab could be improved
How to test:
1- install morscipt
2- install attached cab
3- add manila in whitelist for rotation
Going forward: I don't believe HTC will ever release Leo rom Landscape capable so to enable Landscape we have a good start here for our Leo.
As of now I will hardreset to start from stock rom, since I don't find this mod yet usable. A workable mod with Home page, Message, Email, Weather in landscape would be perfect to me. Don't really care about others tab in Lanscape - since photos and music tabs are already capable.

Hi Rota,
Yep it works. I have tested both yours and Agent_47 one.
The results are pretty similar. Few differences are on people and internet tabs - as far as i remember.
There is a link to the Rhodium thread on my first post
Will follow the progress on your thread.
Thank you Rota !
What happens if you go to landscape and then go to music or pictures tab?

Anyone tested this landscape manila in Miri HD2 WM6.5.X (28205/23518) ROM :: V 1.2?
yes its works
works with miri roms, just dont understand why the rotaion is added to picture and music pages too. they have rotaion and now they are rotating 2 times!!
Diamond 2
Steve0007, I tested your cab file with my TD2 and it works well initially. WM6.5 has to fully boot and loaded until manilla launched. Work with all tabs, manilla and most apps.
However, it didn't work after I run XTask, XHook taskman. Any idea what is going on? Could it be due to XHook running in taskbar? Even web browser don't rotate to landscape anymore. Uninstall and reinstall don't make any difference too.
Landscape Trouble with Opera 10
Hi folks!
First of all I want to admit, I'm new to the forum and as well I'm not really into programming stuff. But maybe here's some useful information for you: I am currently using Opera 10.00 on my HD2. Everytime when Opera is working in landscape mode and the screen turns off (either due to long idle time or because of turning it off manually) and re-activating the device, Sense's lockscreen appears in landscape mode. After logging into the home screen, everything is quite normal again. Also I tried pushing the Homebutton while running opera in landscape mode -> kind of the same effect: home screen appears in landscape, too. There's just the problem, that the device is no longer responding until I stop the Opera process in the Task Manager. After all I guess there's something like a rudimental option for landscape mode included with Sense in stock.
Hope this was helpful for you.
Greetings from Bavaria!
