I've used a Windows Mobile for smartphones on a Blackjack and Blackjack II and one thing that I really liked was how they had around sound profiles where you can set each profile at multiple volume levels and then easily switch between them.
I know that there are some "profiles" in TF3D but it doesn't seem to be a default WM option like it was on the BJ and BJII. Am I missing something? How do you change your profiles?
I liked the simple interface that the smartphone edition had and thought the PPC version would be similar.
BTW: I have searched the forums but haven't come up with much.

Can anyone suggest some good profle software? i.e. to hold profiles of ring tone, ring volume etc for easy switching. Ideally, with either automated switching, or integration with the calendar app.. i.e. so that the phone will automatically go dead silent during a certain appointment if set, and will then return to previous settings when that appointment is over.
By automated I meant for example on monday, the hours of 10am-2pm, be on a certain profile, sometinhg along those lines.
Any suggestions please?
If I'm asking too much can anyone suggest any good profiling programs (preferably with today plugins)

Not going to argue about this again with TheBrit, but I've always used PhoneAlarm. I suggest you try both PA and PZP if you're not using WM5.
PhoneAlarm can be assigned to a hardware key so you can switch profiles quickly with a shortcut or a hardware key.
For instance, I use phonealarm skinned and mapped to the top of my screen here:
and then have an additional bank of claunch icons hidden away to switch profile by thumb as required. Forgive the crude icons, it's an old pic.:

Has anyone seen a ringtone randomizer that works on WM5? I found one for 2003, but googling found that it doesn't work right on WM5. Does such software exist?

I was wondering if there is any freeware software with an "automatic profile switching" feature. I have different appointment category and depending on the category should switch to different profile..
I've been using phoneAlarm, but the program is quite heavy.
Now I've an Htc Touch Pro and I thought HTC Home would have done the job, but it's switching to Vibrate whenever appointment I have.

I was wondering if anyone could help. I am looking for a program that runs on windows mobile, and connects to a server on my desktop PC and can be used as a customizable "remote-control". There is a specific program i am looking for. I had it once, a long time ago, maybe 5 or more years ago, and you could make custom interfaces and set buttons to do different things. You could even set a mouse track pad and all sorts! I was just wondering if anyone knew what this program was as I cannot remember for the life of me.
I hope this isn't something i have dreamt up and now think is real!!!

I came from the TP2 WinMo world. I miss PhoneAlarm. It was an all-in-one place where all relevant information was shown in a skinnable interface, it could be a simple toolbar or take over the entire screen.
Does anyone know any applications like that for Android.

I've used Phone Alarm a lot using my TP2. But more so only for the fact it has auto profiles so I didn't have to worry about putting my phone to silent when work started and when it ended.
I don't know a complete replacement that you can skin.
But if your just looking for the auto profiling (controlling - wifi, brightness,notifcations etc)
I use Timeriffic, free in the Market
