When I use the standard alarm, I can't actually figure out how to turn it off. I button smash until it does and occasionally it just turns itself back on after a minute. Can someone explain to me how to turn off the alarm? Or recommend a good alarm app?
Tap the icon bar.
The System Status screen appears (if enabled).
Tap alarm icon.
Alarm event popup and you can use the dismiss soft button on the lower left screen to dismiss the alarm.

i dunno if any of you notice this. when you press the right most button, with the red end call key, the phone goes into standby, but did not go into lockscreen. when you press any button, the screen lights up in home screen and the next second the lock screen kicks in.
i am wondering is it possible to tweak and make it such that when u press the button, the screen will go into lockscreen first before the screen blackout. i guess we can't have the screen blackout and going into lockscreen together since going into standby, app wouldn't run either.
Just that i prefer to lockscreen first rather than when i wake it up, it goes into lockscreen and i have to unlock it.
That will depend on the ROM. At least on the HD2 this will happen if you disable automatic backlight. Did you do that?
Hit start and then hit lock on the bottom left.
Probably my proximity sensor got broken after phone back from warranty, btw during call the screen stays on and i continue tap with ears or cheeks the display and press accidentaly buttons (mine is a g3, so i tap the mute button on the flash toggle everytime).
Any app can block the screen only during call preventing my unwanted taps?
thanks
Call blocking is a feature which is provided by phone itself. You can try doing it by
Open the App drawer, and go to Settings. In the Settings screen, scroll down to the Blocking mode option, and tap the slider to turn on this mode. Tap on the text to access the options inside this mode. Inside Blockingmode, you will find options to disable incoming calls, notifications, alarms and timers.
Hello everyone.
When someone calls me, my screen doesn't turn on. I hear the ringing, and led flashes, but I have to press the power button to turn screen on and see who calls, and swipe to answer.
In notification settings, it says that pphone notifications are off. When i tap to open settings, there are no options, nor sliders to change..
Found the solution!
Whilst you are on a call, go to your home screen but do not end the call. Pull down the notifications from the top of the screen.
There should be the notification bar for the ongoing call. Hold down on this bar but do not return to the call. An options box should appear. Check the option that says "do not silence". You can now end the call and the problem should be solved.
(wow) thanks it worked. I had the issue for months.
At night, I have "Clock Plus" app displaying the time.
When the alarm goes off in the morning, and I try to hit the snooze button, it doesn't snooze, and doesn't let me turn off the alarm unless I turn off the phone, or one of the other alarms goes off.
Does Sony not allow users to snooze? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I have no idea what "clock plus" app is, but I have the volume keys set to snooze, and it works fine for me, as does the swipe to turn it off. If clock plus app is something from the playstore, try to uninstall it and set the alarm and see what happens.
Is there any way this feature can be turned off automatically during night time? Can't understand why it's not in the settings. I use the watch as an alarm clock but when I move at night it lights up and it is getting on the wife's nerves.
Your wife wakes up when your smart watch screen turns on at night?

So she says
Drag the screen from the top down, and press the icon that looks like a watch. This will turn off the screen and no tilts or accidental touch will turn it on. To exit this "night mode" (used to be called theater mode) press the physical button of your watch.
Thanks a bunch
