I´m having unsolvable problems with the syncrinization between Outlook 2002 and my PDA:s.
I´ve tryed to uninstall outlook and installing it fresh again. But my old contacts (and errors) is still there after the uninstall / install process.
Aparently this is saved separately.
So my question is: how can I completely uninstall outlook and all files related to it, in order to install a truly fresh version?
No one?
Help would be very much apreciated.

I had this problem with mine. The only way I was able to get mine back was to re-flash the phone back to the ROM I was using when I backed up my contacts originally, restore from the SPB backup file, then back up the contacts again using a different backup software, one that works with WM6. I used PIM Backup.
just let activesync backup your contacts (the phone ones, SIM contacts aren't touched by flashing anyway), and once you set up your partnership, with the same name as before, it will ask you regarding the conflicting files between your computer and phone... just choose to replace phone's files with those found on the computer.
Works for me every time, no matter what I'm upgrading from and to.
I agree, I just use spb backup for my programs, but leave the pim backup to either the PC or exchange
rgds
I think I will reflash to original rom, backup, and then reflash again.
spb backup
have ou considerd unzipping the backup on your desktop with the app that spb provides andgetting your files that way
I was wondering if all my contacts and messages (and settings and programs) will be deleted when I update my ROM. If so, is it possible to back those things up?
yes rom update will remove everything.
you can synchronize your contacts and calendar info in Outlook.
once the rom update is complete, they will be synched back to the device.
programs will have to be installed again after a rom update, no solution for that.
Hi everybody,
is there a possibility to restore contacts after a hardreset with the hermes ?
Some program maybe like there are on computers for restoring deleted files?

if you sync with outlook you get them all back when you sync

I just have a quick dev question ... When uninstalling an application, is WM smart enough to perform a rollback or does it just iterate through all the installed files/shortcuts/reg entries and remove them?
I think it just deletes. I don't believe that WM is designed to rollback... then again, that is just my guess based on several years of using WM devices...
Is there a way to make the cab backup the replaced files and then restore them on uninstall?
Or at least overwrite the installed files with backup ones already provided with the cab?
Thanks.
I tried to sync my Fuze today to install the PIM backup prog. so I can finally update my ROM to the newer one. For some reason, why I open the Windows Mobile Device Center, it keeps saying Error. It won't let me connect via Active Sync, but I can access my files when it is used as a disk drive.
I tried to uninstall any programs, but when I go to the Remove Programs, the box is completely empty!
Can someone help and tell me what could have caused this?
Do I have to hard reset to fix this?
