On the G1, is there a way to use a different gmail account for email/contacts from the one for Android Market access? I want to keep my junk-free personal email address separate from my commercial email address that I use for purchases and registrations.
I don't think so, but why would you want to? I haven't registered anything from the Market, but even if I did, Gmail makes stuff like that simple. Just make a new label and forward all emails from certain addresses there.
Also, with one of the major email spamming networks shut down (McColo), spams dropped like.... 75%.
In G1 Contact book you can filter the Address Book to any Group or Create a new Group in Google and only Place Person wanna contact into that Group this will solve the problem on Junk in Contact list

I don't like the in call wallpaper (green robot) on Android that appears when I am talking to someone not in my contacts list. Is there any way this can be changed?
Finally, is there a way to make Gmail app allow choosing from more than one email addresses when sending an email? I have configured three "Send From" addresses under my Google Apps email account but Gmail app shows only one (default).
Thanks much.
What do you want to do actually this was a different kind of querry......
How do i disable conversation view in gmail on android ... it isn't that i don't like conversation view ... the issue that i have with it is when enabled you cannot assign different labels to different threads within one conversation

Wow no one interested in this? I have the same question for my galaxy s
Same question here... can't stand conversation view on anything. Maybe just not used to it... but anyways....
Is there a way to disable conversation view in the Gmail app?
Same with me.
Same here too. I know that you now have the ability to switch off conversation view in desktop gmail. Need the same for android gmail. Perhaps in a future update Google?
Perhaps some time in the very distant future, by the looks of it
Google developers seem to be focussed on teenagers (in an effort to compete with Apple, perhaps?), who invariably receive tiny e-mails and have no problem with dozens or even hundreds of messages being bundled together - but when you're actually trying to get anything of consequence accomplished via e-mail, you'll very quickly find yourself rushing to the nearest computer to open your Gmail, 'cause stumbling through dozens of hundred-line-long messages in threaded view on the 'phone is an utter nightmare.
For the time being, it looks like the only solution is to enable IMAP in your Gmail account, then use K-9 Mail to access it that way (and disable mail synchronisation in Android for your Gmail account so you don't get double the notifications).
Hi all;
One friend asked me to create some facebook accounts because he is not able to do it (he is not a boss with the PC…).
Ok, no problem, I think: some new email accounts, different names and surnames and everything is ok.
After the first account facebook ask me for the confirmation with an sms, maybe is my IP address?
I change email, change IP, delete the cookies but it is the same, it always ask me a phone number and the confirmation by Sms.
If I change browser I can create a new one but at the second the problem appear again.
I reset the pc but nothing: I think that if I change the pc maybe I will have the same problem.
At this point it is a personal issue for me : how can facebook understand that it always me that create a new account and not another person that is creating his first account?
Do you know which parameter facebook use to ask or not this phone number?
Another doubt: if you are in an internet point how do you connect? everyone must insert his mobile number?
Thank you for your help.

Hello, frequently I recieved sms from certain companies (google calendar notifications, my home banking, my football club, etc) and these sms came already with name of the sender and they are not in my contact list.
How can I add an image to these contacts?!
I've manually add Google as an contact and put the Google's logo but the avatar doesn't appear in the hangouts.

Click to collapse
the messages you are getting are different sms... not like others i guess... like we get for promotional ads... they automatically have name in them.. and you can't see there no so you can't save them... and i guess you just can't apply picture to them..

The way I did it it, for example Google Calendar, added Google Calendar to contacts in gmail using +148368 as the mobile phone number and then changed the photo to one of a calendar (or whatever). Then I followed Google Calendar on G+, I also on the Google Calendar G+ page added that same number (+148368) not sure if you need to do the last step or even if you have to follow on G+ but there was a delay on it changing on hangout so I'm not quite sure if you have to follow. Sometime adding the +1 to the phone number is what works, and sometimes you just need to use the short code, for example US Bank uses a short code of 872265 and I didn't need to add the +1 for that. So for example Twitter, you need to use +140404 and if you already follow Twitter on G+ the avatar will also show up in gmail contacts. The whole think is convoluted but it finally is working for me except Google Voice sent sms.
# MESSAGE FOR MODERATORS #
The following, DISPOSABLE Gmail email addressed were created by me - JUST NOW - for the SOLE purpose of spreading Google Inbox invites. I DO NOT use the addresses, I DO NOT CARE if they get spam, there are solely for generating Google inbox invites. They have passwords NOTHING LIKE my own password, and fake credentials. Please, PLEASE DO NOT remove the email addresses in this post, as - again - they are EMPTY, do not contain ANY contacts or contact info, many thanks.
Here - these two (disposable) Gmail accounts have just been created, and are Google Inbox activated and ready. All you need to do is add one of these accounts to your Android device (turn off ALL SYNC on the temporary account, if I were you), then launch (or install then launch) Google Inbox app ON THE ANDROID DEVICE, then go to Inbox app, and "Settings >> Manage Accounts" and select YOUR Gmail account, then REMOVE the disposable account from your device(s), as YOU are now Google Inbox activated on YOUR account. So, here are the credentials needed:
username #1: [email protected]
password: "sillypassword"
username #2: [email protected]
password: "sillypassword"
If you can't understand what I mean about switching accounts, read this:

Enjoy
Didn't work for me, as soon as I switch accounts, as directed, within inbox, I get the "you don't seem to have an invite yet" message.

Yep double checked it again, from scratch, no dice. Well thanks for the effort. If anyone DOES get this to work, PM me if you have a moment with some insight.
Hi, I think its best you just delete those accounts as I couldnt login without answer a security question.
I thanked you for trying to help. Keep up the good work.

Switching does not work
The switching trick dosent work although the given ID and password worked.
P.S the first id was already changed by some one
Okay folks, it appears my plan didn't quite work out. The reason I didn't directly say "Hey, I have a load of invites to give away - come and get them" is because:
#1 My personal email address is private and I don't want a flood of strangers begging me for invites, via it.
#2 Refer to #1.
Sorry it didn't work out. I have given one invite out, but I'm sure a little patience will do you ALL good, and strengthen your characters. In this instant gratification world, it's extremely healthy and edifying to learn that you cannot ALWAYS get EVERYTHING at the click of a button. I had to wait a week for my invite (hard life, isn't it) so I suppose many of you will have to do that too. Patience is a virtue, so learn to be virtuous.
God bless, take care.
@glossywhite
do you know gmail has a option that saves the IP address of the most recent computer visited GMAIL ID. It can compromise anybody security. :good:
Anyone that is still interested in getting any invites can feel free to check out the main thread for them located here:
