Screenshots for the new Windows Mobile
6.5 operating system have appeared on SmartphoneFrance delivered by an Anonymous source.
The new interface is designed to be touch-friendly by having a honeycomb home page as well as a carousel menu.
In previous Windows Mobile releases, the items in menus were often too small to use a finger, forcing the user to resort to a stylus. Windows Mobile 6.5 hopes to change this by having a large scrolling menu that enlarges the current object and provides additional information for it. The honeycomb menu shown above allows the user to quickly select their task. Tasks that are used more often appear closer to the center of the screen.
As previously reported, Windows Mobile 6.5 has been confirmed and could be ready by the first quarter next year.
Neowin will continue to keep you up to date on Windows Mobile 6.5 as the details arrive.

I just wonder (right after I review the newest WM5 emulator images),

And square screen versions:
Well, because we will have to wait a few months for new devices with Windows Mobile 5 (and it will request next money), and because there is a many older devices where WM5 will not be update (not enough memory). Should I write the simulator of WM5 Phone interface incl. Contacts with photos?
... Sorry, I couldn't resist:
with VisualStudioBeta I got some leaflet from Microsoft people:
nice new trade mark? ;-)
Very easy on the eye Janusz, I like the caterpillar too.
This theme is created for those who love the Royale theme and system look from Windows XP. All images and icons are based on the original Royale theme released by Microsoft New Zealand and the Microsoft Windows XP icon set.
Note:
1. The today top bar buttons are created deliberately to be big and clear for display purpose. Hence, there is not enough space to fit all available buttons on top bar in portrait mode.
2. The WisBar theme has included a custom button, which acts as a separator between other buttons and the start manu on the top bar.
3. If you experience problem with the Signal Strength button, try to exit and restart WisBar.

I tried to download using PIE, Opera, etc., but all I received was an, "Unsupported Device," message. I then got home from work, changed user agents in Firefox, and downloaded. Here's links for those, like myself, who couldn't download from Sports Illustrated because of a cooked ROM or what-have-you.

i tried getting it direct from SI but my 8525 was told that it was unsupported even though it was listed. This cab worked just fine. It is a slow running app, but may come in useful.
I can't believe that there isn't a decent app with NHL Live Scores... all teams, not just selected...

In my country the Acer Launch Day will be 14-5
they will show up their new smartphones blah blah
back to the topic: anyone heard or get a hold on this new GUI, seem like a orderly-mess in the table
would love to try on my touch HD
The virtual desk consists of 3 "regions" that you swipe left and right to access. All the objects are movable or removable. The window shows the current weather forecast and is animated, as is the 3D shell as a whole.
AFAIK, it's not going to be available as a separate download, but I doubt it will be long before it's ripped by someone.
There is also a vertical swipe to access a more traditional matrix layout of icons for various tasks.
Can we have this on Att Fuze
or any of the upcomng HTC phones ?
