Does anyone know if you can get a cab file or if there is a registry tweak to restore internet sharing (pan) to WM 6. I have a pre release kaiser that has wmodem but no internet sharing and I cant get dun to work properly to tether to my laptop for internet. I thought wm 6 came standard with internet sharing so I dont know if it's hidden (registry tweak) or if it's been taken off the rom and there is some way to restore it. Any help would sure be appreciated. Thanks
Try this.. unzip it and copy the 2 files into your widows directory on your phone. then create a shortcut icon in Windows>Start Menu>Programs
That worked! You the man. Thanks so much for the help.
you're welcome
wm5?
Is there an internet connection sharing for WM5?
I have a Softbank X02HT Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition (same as HTC Cavalier / Dopod C730) with crippled Internet Sharing.
I tried this cab file which would open the UI but would show blanks for the Internet and local connections. I managed to pull off the intshrui and intshrui.dll files from a Samsung Blackjack, and now it shows connections and I can actually establish a connection - but when I connect my PC to it, it fails to get an IP address.
Does anyone know which other files are being used by Internet Sharing? Which other files beside intshrui.* do I need to copy from the BlackJack, or if it is even possible?

Same problem here. Maybe the .dll file is carrier specific. A stretch but I can't think of any other reason why this doesn't work.
X02HTC help

i am thinking of getting a x02ht but i am not sure if it is possible to unlock the device so i can use it with other carriers? is there a way to flash it but still be able to use japanese and softbank services like sms/mms? (and mobile mail). would be great if somebody could direct me to a threat/link where i can find a bit more info about this.
cheers,
joma
There are no threads. We are asking for a Cavalier forum but nobody is doing any yet.
Internet connection sharing
I downloaded the internet sharing files, but when I run the program on my Samsung Blackjack II the "PC Connection" and "Network Connection" fields are empty and it does not let me change it.

oh man i wish you were wrong
i guess the only solution left is by using some kind of a vnc server
though i am not sure on how to use one..
1. Establish adhoc connection between smartphone and laptop. I don't rnow how to do it exactly as I don't have another wi-fi enabled device.
2. Start ftp-server on smartphone. Only in russian http://board.riot.ru/27-smartfony/13312-smartftpserver-ftp-server-dlya-smartfonov.html
3. Acces it via ftp://smartphone's-ip:21
4. Profit
frankly that is pathetic! Microsoft is retarded! My ipaq 1945 could do that!
Sorry for my bad english. I see some posts in another forum where peoples get some dll from pocket pc firmware and put it in windows folder. And in explorer add folder Network Neiborhood. All works correct.

I'm specially interested in this issue. I really would like to make my device discoverable and able to share files with other systems, like other desktops do.
Hi everybody,
I've got a big problem with recovering data on Windows Mobile 6 (qtek 9100).
The device was receiving the files through bluetooth beam (as I know everything received this way is saved in MyDocuments folder on the device). It was 2 sessions of data, every session about 60 files. After receiving the first session of files WM6 asked if I want to save all the files and I clicked yes, then the second session of different files arrived and then I accidentally clicked no..
Is there any way to recover the files received in the second session? As I know..,WM6 during receiving a bunch of files saves the files to some temp files and then wait for user interaction to ask if the user really wants to save it. If this statement is correct then is there any way to recover these files? I've tried different recovery software, but none of these programs could see WM6 device.. Help me please.
Thanks in andvance,
haman
I'm trying to transfer a file from my HTC Trophy (SparkW) to my computer (no internet connection). Unfortunately the DFT Bluetooth transfer isn't working (can't pair my phone with my computer at all for some reason). So, unless anyone has any other suggestions, the only solution I can think of is to paste the file into one of the picture folders that are seen on the computer in mass storage device mode. However, I can't seem to find those folders anywhere on my device...
Can anyone tell me where the photos are stored on the device or suggest another way to transfer a file?

Pictures can be found in MyDocuments/Zune/Content/
Sent from my HTC Titan using Board Express
A valid alternative (that's what I always do as I can't be bothered to launch ZUNE) is to use an app called "Pixfi for Dropbox" which allows me to upload multiple images to dropbox so they get synced to my PC.
EDIT: Nevermind, I saw the "no Internet connection" bit too late.
EDIT2: Windows Phone doesn't have mass storage. There's a hack available that will make it show as a media device but that requires the Zune Software to be installed. If you have the Zune software installed, you could simply use that, though.

Sorry, wasn't directed at you... just I've seen people needing to exchange files or contacts and no way to do it other than pen/paper because of the lack of file access.
Also, knew there was almost nothing we could do to help, and it irritated me.
Post up if you find a way.
The apn type and adding dun to it use to work.... I made a thread on it about a year ago. I'm still able to get my msl code but all the apns are greyed out and you can't edit any of them now. It was great having a working HOTSPOT!
With that said.........
So far I have found the apn-conf.xml in the /system folder. I can edit and save with no problem...... now in that file at the top it say it must match the res/common/xml/apn.xml or something very similar to that.
It took me awhile to find this file but I have FOUND IT!!! (If you use apk editor and select the 2nd option to view system files/apks). Look for servicemode.apk and browse that .apk, in the /res/xml folder you will find the apns.xml file!!! I found a few good files like apn-editor.xml and apn-settings.xml in the settings apk.
I downloaded APK Editor in the play store and started poking around. The file is a system all called servicemode.apk, if you decompile the file and check the res folder and look in the xml folder TADA, YOU WILL FIND THE APNS.XML file....... so that's as far as I have got. When viewing this APN.XML file I can't figure out how to edit it to match the system/apns-conf.xml file.
Now in the apk editor you can view the strings or files..... I used the file option and looked at all the strings..... they can be edited.
ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED! I looked thru the settings and service mode til all also so I'm getting confused and maybe a fresh pair of eyes and a clear mind can help figure this out. I been trying along time now!
Ben trying to upload my screen shot but no luck....... when I get to my laptop I will surely upload them...... with root explorer I all found the apk modemservicemode.apk in system/priv-app which contains a apn.xml file also...... PLEASE ALL HELP IS GREAT.
Am I on to something here or not? Wasting my time??? Let me kno what you think
Anyone find a way around to making the HOTSPOT unlimited??? I'm on a tight income and would love to be able to watch Netflix and use my Chromecast but can't afford cable and internet at the moment. I know boost has the 8gig hotspot already and a promo for a 20gig HOTSPOT but having a 11 year old son playing Xbox one online constantly....... don't last long. In my first HOTSPOT thread it was so simple just adding dun. I have a month to month plan 60$ just to be specific for others. I do believe min phones and pay as you go might be different. I can only speak for me and my device. Please any insight on these apn files that I been finding is GREATLY APPRECIATED!
Just want to throw you a thanks for trying to get the hotspot figured out... I've been looking all over the place to try to find someone that has it working with no luck... So again, THANK YOU for getting started on trying to make the J727P hotspot available... Keep up the good work and I have faith in you my dude... I'm sure someone can get this figured out...
wifi tether apk
dont waste time with apn's. spend $2.50 on wifi tether router in play store. works perfect except torrenting still cuts out at 8gb
