alarm popup - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Is there any way on the FUZE to have the alarm or notifications from calendar create a popup? Its kind of annoying when there is a sound coming from my phone and no clue what its for and no easy way to stop it. Thanks

Same question from here ! This is driving me crazy... Then I need to try to hit the reminder icon on the top line - this icon is too small and I need to try 5 times...
This is the part that I find the most disturbing on the Touch Pro (after Kaiser, Hermes, etc...).

If you go to settings > sounds and notifications, and then click the notification tab and select Reminders there should be a tick box "display on screen". This should over lay the touchflo interface with the reminder

Reminders not showing?

This is probably me just not being used to the PPC version of Windows Mobile (I've been using non-touch screen smartphones too long).
For some reason, my calendar reminders are not showing on the screen. I hear the notification sound, but unless I bring them up manually using the icon bar at the top of the screen I never see the text so I can't dismiss them.
What have I done wrong here?
I have the same problem/frustration. I don't think it is anything you are doing wrong. I think it is (crappy) functionality of the TouchFlo interface. IMHO the TouchFlo interface renders meeting notifications useless. The home page does not show enough information and the issue you described. Interested to hear form others how they deal with it. I turned off meeting notifications because of this. Luckily for me I have a Blackberry sitting right next to it to remind me.
Yeah, same here.
Please check your settings:
Start -> Settings -> Sounds & Notifications -> Tab: Notifications.
I would bet that for the Event "Reminders" the option "Display message on screen" is not checked. Right?
HTH
Go to settings, personal , Sounds and Notifications, select the notifications tab, pick Reminders in the event drop down and make sure "Display Message on Screen" is checked.
DeepThought and JoeWilcox nailed it. That was the issue. Very strange to not have that as a default. Thanks guys.
Nope, still no reminders popping up.

Alarms do not automatically display

Hi,
I have an Alltel HTC Touch Pro with Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 and HTC's Touchflo 3D. When I set an alarm or appointment, the unit sounds the alarm but in order to see what the alarm or reminder is, I have to tap the bell icon on the title bar. This brings up the "System Status" page where I again have to tap the bell icon. Then, and only then, I get a small popup at the bottom of the screen that tells me what the reminder is and gives me the option to dismiss or snooze the reminder/alarm. This is extremely annoying to have to jump through so many hoops just to silence the alarm.
Is this the correct or normal behavior? Is it a problem with Touchflo?
Better yet, is there a fix to this? All I want is for the reminder to pop-up automatically when the alarm sounds.
Thanks very much in advance!
My Touch HD behaves in exactly the same way. It is very irritating. It means alarms using MP3 tracks ring for way too long. Anyone know of a solution?
Well, my HD does show pop up screens because i configured it to
Pop up screens are not shown by default as it sits on top of tf3d, and it looks pants right?
So if you want pop ups goto settings/sounds & notifications/notifications/reminders (or what ever you wish to alter)
Then just check display message on screen
Sometimes its nice just not to have your home screen bombarded, but reminders are good to be displayed!
ahh timmy timmy, always helpful
and I recommend using G-Alarm by ageye. wonderful application

Alerts vs. menu bar

I'm not sure if this is a setting or a byproduct of TF3D, but I can't stand the way that alerts work.
If I have a reminder for an upcoming appointment, the notification toast doesn't appear at the bottom like it did with my Mogul and other WM devices. The chime goes off and the alert icon appears on the menu bar, so I hit that, I get the menu bar selection screen and then if I hit the alarm bell, the toast displays at the bottom.
I'm running the default Sprint ROM for now, with some of the basic tweaks. This (and the inability to use a 4-pin headset) are my only real remaining beefs.
Is there a config or tweak I can do, is this just the way it is?

I have a ATT fuze so I dont know how much of difference the set up is...Did you look in system, sounds and notifications then notifications then scroll to reminders and make sure display message on screen is checked...What else have you installed that could be interferring?
Slawcops hint did the trick here.
After upgrading to the newest HTC official (dutch) ROM, TF3D was always in front of such system messages.
By going into the setting menu, sounds and notifications, notifications tab
then selecting "Reminders" (I guess thats what's it called in the english version) in the dropdown box and enabling the "show message in screen" my problem was solved.
Hope this helps!
edit: It would seem this action is needed every time after a soft-reset...if anyone knows where and if this value is stored in the registry, I would really like to know.

alarm notification?

when my alarm goes off in the morning the "notification" has stopped popping up so i can disable it, I have to let the alarm go on for the entire time. How do i fix that irritating problem?
not to steal your thunder but i can't find a way to silence text message sounds as they occur.. any ideas?
OK, this is really pissing me off here, i cant stop my alarm now. it goes off and keeps repeating, i have to reset the phone to stop it. the "notification" window used to pop up and allow me to dismiss it or snooze for a selected periond of time.
First deactivate any alarms and go to settings/sounds & notifications and make sure that "notifications" is not selected, for now...
Then I sugest using "Check Notifications" program (google for it) to clean your memory from duplicated reminders and alarms
And then soft reset...
Let me know if that helped...
perhaps your problem is that under settings / sounds and notifications "notification" for alarm is NOT selected.. doesnt it have to be for popping up??
I have the same problem with the noticiations. I have to click them on every day. They turn off all the time. Any idea's
got it working, took what you guys said and put it together.
settings/all settings/personal tab/sounds and notifications/sound tab - then CHECK "events, programs AND notifications (alarms, reminders)"
then go to the "notifications" tab and go to the event drop down list and choose "reminders" its near the bottom, and make sure "display message on screen" is checked.
solved it for me, thanks for your help
I've done all that. My problem is that every day all my notifications get unchecked. Why?
perhaps you need to make those changes and then soft reset the phone?
other than that I have no idea unless your running a diff program for your notifications and it is conflicting with the stock notification settings
I noticed the same issues. Then, I switched to gAlarm and everything was better. It's a better alarm program anyway. Way better.

Problem with Alarm on Lockscreen

Hi all,
Wonder if anybody can help me.
Hope i've placed this in the right place as this is my first time posting a new thread. Sorry if it's not.
I'm having a problem with the alarm on my lockscreen.
When the alarm goes off, the snooze or dismiss option has disappeared off my lockscreen. I have to unlock my phone, click on the top taskbar and dismiss it that way.
Has anybody else had the same problem or does anybody know how to fix it?
Many thanks.
Snap...
Anyone with ideas?
Hopefully someone will have an idea how to fix it.
Fingers crossed.
Same problem here. And it's not just the alarm clock that is a problem, the same thing happens with tasks and reminders from the calendar.
I used to be able to just clicl snooze/dismiss from the main locked screen. Now I have to unlock, tap the taskbar, view notifications, dismiss.
Does anyone have a reason/solution?
same problem - now solved
Hello,
had the same problem and was watching this thread
I use the latest RTT rom (win mobile 6.5.x?)
At first I went to the windows settings (Manila settings => menue => more => sounds ... => sounds => events? - check box set => OK)
Because I've a german rom I don't know if previous translation is ok - therefore the way in German:
(Manila Einstellungen => Menü => Mehr => Sounds & Benachricht. => Sounds => Ereignisse (Warnungen, Systemereignisse) - Check box setzen => OK)
Then - I don't know whether it is necessary - I set in Manila Settings => Sound & Display => "Eine Lautstärke/Systemlautstärke verwenden" - my translation?: use same volume for system & phone.
also in Manila Settings => Sound & Display => Klingeltöne / Benachrichtigungstöne (ring tone? / notification tone?) => I checked whether Erinnerungen (reminder?) is "on" - I also switched New message to "on".
Finally I set a test alarm - via the windows alarm icon (found in programms), NOT the home tab Manila alarm - and it worked - the alarm is now appearing in lock screen mode and you can dismiss or snooze directly - without prior unlock ...
Before I found that the windows alarm settings override the manila settings - and you can even choose mp3 files without additional alarm software! The alarm can then also be set via Manila alarm, but the settings in windows alarm count (in latest RTT rom).
From Setting menu press on All settings goto Sound & Notification the Notifications. Drop down to Reminders and check the "Display message on screen............

Have done what you suggested and it is sorted.
Thank you very much.
Can't believe it was something so simple.
