Pocket Player and Hamachi - General Topics

I have been using hamachi to make a vpn to my home machine where i have orb installed, I use a upnp plugin to stream music to my phone. I however just flashed earlier today, I thought i got it set up just the same but for some reason its not working. The hamachi connection is just fine, i can message back and forth. And even in pocket player i can view my music, however when i got to play the music it just doesn't seem to want to. Any ideas? If i can get this to work i would be more then happy to make a tutorial on how all this works. But something funny is going on currently.
Thanks

Listen to Lex and Terry on Touch Pro?

I have WM6.5 on my TP and I used to listen to Lex and Terry radio show on it when my local radio show turned them off at 9am. I drive a long distance so it entertains me for the drive. Anywho, now they have "secured" the URL so you can't stream it anymore unless thru the web browser on their site. Since Opera will not play it I am stuck.
I did manage to get the streaming link, and it works on my computer but I don't know how to get it to work on my phone:
http://a1871.l4072211870.c40722.g.l...wlexandterrycom&SITE_ID=11513&STATION_ID=LTTX
It works on Windows Media Player on my comp, just not on the phone. I tried Coreplayer and WMP.
Having the same exact problem as you.
Me too. Bump.
I emailed Peter and he said:
"When we moved to the new site, part of that came with having to "secure" the stream... meaning that there is no URL to give, you have to listen thru that browser, which doesn't work on most smart phones... sorry.
hopefully an app or the software for your browser will come about soon."
Maybe if he gets a few more emails he will make an available URL we can run through CorePlayer.
P.S. I don't think the URL I posted works anymore.
It will work in Skyfire. However since Skyfire will timeout after like 5min of activity you have to keep touching the screen. Anyone know a workaround so Skyfire wont time out?

The SkyFire timeout is the worst feature ever.
i downloaded the playlist file and it opened with kinoma.
kinoma is asking for username and password.
so my question is what is the user and pass or where can i go to create my own user and pass.
sorry to digg this post from the grave but i found it through google while trying to figure out how to stream lex and terry since my current radio station dropped the show.
does anyone know where i can register.
I always use spb online, and in there there is a radio application which you can open a link

LobsterTunes

Hello all,
I've been trying to (rather unsuccessfully) remote access my home pc's music files via LobsterTunes on my HD2.
I'm using TVersity to sync from my home pc to the phone and while LobsterTunes does find the media server and lists my media, when I actually try and play a track it just continually buffers?
Any ideas?
Thanks
I havent tried winamp on my hd2 yet, but i used to use it on my tytn2. it has a media server service. Allowing access to my pc.
i forgot about it till you mentioned it. hmmmm. may go investigate that again.

That sounds interesting, I've found WinamPAQ 1.0 after a bit of Googling, is this the version with a media server service?
Thanks
I just checked. Go to winamp.com and download free winamp to your pc. register for the winamp remote service (also free) and simply log in on ur phone browser. there is a mobile site, i dont have the address to hand.
I never use winamp, but my ps3 on my home network works better using this media service to stream films and music.

Cool will give that a try when I get home, thanks!
I've also just been looking at Orb, seems to be a fairly simple way to share media between your home pc and hd2, yet to try it though but will post findings if anyone is interested?

[Q] Streaming from Android to PC

Sorry if there is already a thread for this.
I'm looking for an app which play the sound of my mobile on my computer (and them my Hifi)
Then I can listen to toutube or spotify easily on my Hifi, simply using my Android phone.
Thanks a lot
Android to Audio Stream
Is there a solution yet since I am also looking out for something like this.
I don't know guys if you are interested into, but there is an application that allows you to stream video and audio and see your picture via Wireless on your computer using your web browser...
Websharing file 1.6.1 apk
Nextapp is the company who create it, I use regularly everyday and is a good one!!
AFAIK, there's currently no way to do a raw audio stream from Android over the network; and I can almost guarantee you it won't be possible at all without root. Closest you could get would be getting a Bluetooth audio sink (like this or the official Nexus home dock) and hooking that to your hifi. There are apps to stream local content via DLNA, but there isn't anything to stream arbitrary audio in Android.
EDIT: Some PC Bluetooth stacks may also be able to receive A2DP audio as well, but it's not a universal feature.
Check out mecanto, it's an app that syncs your music to the cloud and then you can stream it from the cloud and play on your phone.

I'm amazed that there's no interest in this. I'm sure I haven't searched enough and so probably should pick on a more current thread. But it seems a no-brainer to me to want to go this direction. Everyone discusses streaming from PC to phone. Why would I do that instead of just listening to the PC? Now if I could stream from phone to PC... I have many phone apps that let me listen to unlimited tunes and radios from all over the world, which of course I use outside the house. But using it in this way in the house, my phone would not only be the source, but the "remote" -- the controller. Walk around the house w/ just the phone. Beats my carrying my Squeezebox "portable" radio, as I do. Or maybe I need to pay $150 for the Squeezebox solution, their remote controller... Just don' get it.
yes. i also think this is a great idea. there a heaps of pc to android threads.
usage scenario i am thinking.
walking around with device. the device contains song files and player. if that player had a button like stream to ie desktop, home theatre speakers, etc etc. that would be great. sorta like wmp 12 stream to button if anyone is familiar with that. bluetooth has the restriction of range so ideally wifi would be the better solution. curious to know if anyone has come across any updates to this.
I use 2 apps because im undecided which is best firt one is called 2play dnla
and the other is upnp. search in the market for both :-D
THAKS DREA!!!! wow I have been wish exactly the 2play app do... I like to play music on my Android tha I can listen from my large PC speakers!!! COOL!!
Streaming from Android To SERVER STREAMING
Is there any application also in beta test to let the android phone act as Media encoder to stream to a Server what's coming on your phone?
On Iphone platform there an interesting app LIVU (stevemcfarlin.com/livu/features.html).
Would be nice to have one similar on Android phone
Fabio
Theres an app called Twonky which acts as media server on your Android. It lets you stream upnp to whatever device you have capable such as Apple TV, Playstation etc. I have an AC Ryan Playon HD player which is hooked to my local network and I am able to recieve and play media through this to my HD TV from my Desire over wifi.
Any suggestions on the following then:
I would love to find a program that can both send audio and video without transcoding that can manage both IOS and Android
Im currently using PS3 media server for the PS3 and StreamToMe for sending to my iphones/ipads. They both work excellent. Was also amazed with the lack of streaming programs.
A simple solution that worked for me from a windows pc to android was was using ES File Explorer (free), choose LAN from dropdown (top left), add new server, scan - it should then pick up your shared network.
Then navigate to your chosen movie, play with moboplayer. Voila.
If it doesn't play straight away make sure moboplayer is set to soft decoder.
Sometimes you may have to press and hold your movie icon, open as video, choose moboplayer.

I think MyPhoneExplorer can do that (not sure)
For youtube videos: the youtube app can link with your pc through Youtube leanback
There is an app called "Remote Droid Player"(play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.app.newandroid). Though it needs a small application needs to be installed on PC.
hmmm... I saw the program ArkMC in google play , when I have the similar problem , you can try...good luck!
vlc direct pro free

Still no way to stream every sound that your android device plays to your PC? Is it not technically possible to create and android server that sends a raw stream of sound to the PC over wifi?
All the solutions linked in this thread requires you to actively choose what mp3 to listen to. I want to stream notifications/spotify/radio/everything that is played.

[Q] Playon

Anyone heard anything about using PlayOn with the gtab?
Would solve the issue with netflix and streaming my dvd collection on the nas box.
I use playon and some of it works, most doesn't. Hulu and Tv.com shows for example don't get past the initial ad. I use UpNPlay to access the Playon server from my tablet.
Playon works good with my PC's but not with the tablet.
Hrm...not really working for me...It can't find a video player to play the feed back successfully....
Bump!
I have the UnPlay app and PlayOn with the mobile settings enabled and the port opened. I can connect to my PlayOn Server Via 3g and via Wifi but I can't get the video to play over 3g... only works on Wifi it looks like it's going to play but then just flashes back to UnPlay! Also there's no cover art (screenshots) being displayed for anything at all like there is when browsing on wifi
I just signed up for the PlayOn Android beta but I don't know if i'll be selected or not.
Would be nice!

There's another thread from the other day on Netflix and Playon. The latest version added Android support to the mobile interface. Make sure you have the latest version installed and go to m.playon.tv from your local network. You should see your PlayOn server and be able to watch videos. I've only tried it with the Dolphin browser, make sure your user agent is set to Android. I even managed to connect to it ouside of my home network with my EVO over 3g and watch a Netflix movie.
This is working for me too. Make sure the user agent is set correctly as Matt said.
Does it seem like if you stop a video on a playon client the server still uploads or continues encoding? It's like the stream does not stop from the server.
playon works for me - including hulu and netflix on vegan 5.1 with Pershoot kernal (first time I've been able to see hulu!)
had to map the port mentioned in the playon settings interface in my router...
even works with the dock and an ethernet connection.
Started testing out the new beta for android support today on my tab and Evo. Works fairly well so far as you switch to the Phone display mode in your browser. A few little issues, but its still beta.
Playon and Netflix
Through Playon, I finally have access to Netflix! PlayOn is an additional cost and it does require a server running on a PC but I think it is worth it (for the short term anyways...).
My location: Canada -- apparently we are 3rd world when it comes to media streaming ...
My setup: GtabComb 3.1 on BL1.1. I have 10.3 Flash and using Opera Mobile and I have the Playon app loaded on my Gtab.
My Netflix setup: I am on the 30 day trial right now.
My PC setup: I started with the latest Playon version 3.3.8.2110 but that wouldn't let me login to Netflix. I contacted the PlayOn support group and they set me up with a PlayOn 3.3.9 patch. I ran the patch and my Netflix login issues went away.
Everything seems to play ok. One quirk with my HC setup is that I have to play the movie in full screen or else I seem to just get audio. I think this is a known limitation with this version of HC/flash. I will report back if I encounter issues.

how can I stream my home music collection to my WP7

Just curious if anyone know's the best way to do this.. Google music only works for andriod and grooveshark is not working anymore.. Any ideas?
tonido works well
There's a subsonic app for WP7 as well..
Just need the server component at home..
http://www.subsonic.org/pages/index.jsp
The already mentioned apps work fine, but you might probably take a look at MyMedia WP7.
Not saying this is the best. Windows Home Server 2011 and MS app My Home Server works here to stream media to the phone. Just another possibility if you happen to have Windows Home Server..
Thank you all very much, going to try out mymedia sounds pretty good.
