Dutch upgrade WM 6.1 - HTC Vox

Does it exist?
Hello! I have just upgraded my mobile with the dr. Martin Gonzo Rom to WM 6.1, unfortunately it is only in English!
Does it exist in the Dutch language? I am looking for Dutch interface and menu's! I've tried creating my own rom, with the Rom Language updater, but that error-ed on me, for reasons I do not understand.
Is there anyone who knows more? Does it exist? Doesn't it? Who has one?
Thank you for your time!

I would be interested in this too. It would be even better if fireburned's cleanrom gets translated.
Want dat leest toch wel wat makkelijker

Mee eens de Engelse versie is top, maar geef mij toch maar ouderwetsch Hollandsch!
-- on topic:
has anyone heard of a dutch version? Is it possible or? Is anyone able to build one with dr gonzos language builder, found somewhere else on this forum? I failed miserably!

jaah die wil ik ook wel
aka
I would like that

Inderdaad, dat zou ik ook wel willen
Indeed, that I would also like to.

anyone?! who can at least tell us how to do it??
i have absolutely no idea where to begin

Well you need to find SYS language for 6.1 and then translate the mui files from HTC to Dutch, then we can talk about making a ROM!

That sounds difficult, but in a country filled with nerds (oh oh), there must be a dutchman or -woman capable of understanding what you just said
But who?

There is a S740 Orange ROM around, WM6.1 based which contains about 10 languages, including the Dutch language. Tried fiddling around with the mui files for my S730 but that didn't work out very well so far...

There is a NoThrills WM 6.1 NLD *Dutch* V3 - Dutch ROM with the brand new OS build 19202
here's the link;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379401
good luck:

^ That's a Kaiser rom. That won't work on a vox, right?
If anyone has found a Dutch WM 6.1 rom, please let me know.

I may have the files necessary for cooking a dutch ROM, but I don't have the time right now. Maybe in two weeks.

That'd be awesome

That would definitely be awesome. I know my girl would really appreciate it.

Uh I just noticed that the last one was my 1000th post
Yeah, just not the next week since I am going to be really busy!

Frauhottelman, keep up the good work... really like the rose 0.4!
If you do find some spare time, I would be interested in a Dutch rom as well... wish I could do it myself, but some guys are good in building houses and some are good at making rom's ;-)
good luck and thanks for the rose!

I almost can't wait, it would be very nice if you can cook one

Next week. And then I don't even know if it'll work!?

I have lots of trust in you

I hope there is comming a ducht rom too! Is someone making it already?
Sorry for my poor englisch

Dutch Language

Hello All,
Does anybody know if there is a Dutch version of WM2005? Would be real cool. Or perhaps i can translate a english ROM myself?
i heard there would be a official dutch version, i just haven't seen it anywhere on this site.
Hope to here from you guys.
Thankx in advance!
there isnt even a dutch WM2003SE available, let alone a WM5 rom :S
WM5 in Dutch
There WILL be a Dutch version of WM5:
Microsoft heeft vandaag een nieuwe versie van het Windows Mobile-besturingssysteem aangekondigd. Meest opvallende vernieuwingen: de kern van het besturingssysteem wordt hetzelfde voor PDA's en smartphones en... het besturingssysteem is ook Nederlandstalig!
Source: http://www.palmclub.nl/forums/showthread.php?t=20133
And why wouldn't there be an English version of WM5 when there even isn't one in WM3? This kind of reasoning makes no sense...
there is not likely to come any dutch version of 2005 for xdaII's since there is not likely to come any 2005 version officialy for xdaII's
and you can translate it yourself try asking the one who translated it to french in the himalaya forum

As I understand correctly, there won't be an official Dutch Magneto version, but translating it so myself is a possibility.
I will have a look on how to do that...
P.S: If I manage to get this translation thingy done, will there be people interested in getting this version?
I'll be very interested...

Thats Pity,
Maybe you can do it legal somehow? by just copying all the files of the device to your sd card, and than zip it. that should not be illigal, unless you signed some papers on your work that the files are only mentioned for your eyes only.
i do not want to bring you in trouble, its to you to decide what to do.
If you will not post the files, i respect it anyway.

Hey Guys
I need some help here
I've just dedicted an XDA mini S (i-mate k-jam) From Germany using the Dutch language
Can any one help me to change its language to English?

Any newer German ROM than Darkforce?

Want to give the "old" Universal to my mum. And WM6 is much better than WM5 (for example the possibility to search an email directly by starting to type the first few letters)
But because she can't understand english I wanted to flash her the device with an WM6 with German language. The only one I found was the one from Darkforce which is rather old.
Does there exist a newer one?
Or should I perhaps switch to an WM5 ROM? But the T-Mobile Original ROM is so much modified. I don't have a plain one. Oh man. Need to do this till tomorrow morning. That's about 12 hours from now ;-)
If someone has an Idea I would be really grateful.
TIA,
NiTeSHiFT (soon an HTC Kaiser owner, but still has an SDA Business and XDA Cosmo that is Excalibur and a Treo 750.)
Look at my ROM.
http://www.ppc-welt.info/community/showthread.php?t=114139
Thanks a lot dude
Didn't knew there's another one cooking german ROMs Why didn't you post that earlier?
Danke! Da wird sich meine Mutter freuen ;-)

p3470 ROM
Hope to hear from you soon
It seems that we are very few forum members that we have HTC P3470.
I also like to see a new ROM or even bettera cooked ROM. Of course with the CID Unlock utility.
Some place someone stated that the ELFIN Roms are suitable for the P3470.
Does anyone have an experience with this? It seems starnge since the P3470
does not have Wi-Fi.
i need too p3470 ROM english or romanian version.
Highlights
Texas Instrument OMAP 200Mhz CPU
128MB (user) RAM
2.8” QVGA Display
Bluetooth 2.0
Integrated GPS
2.5G (to be verified)
No Wi-fi (to be verified)
If someone wants to send me one I'll tear it apart. However, this phone is not one I will be purchasing myself. It seems like the Stepchild phone of HTCs Linup. Also, Its not even released in the US. That I saw.
I hope XDA can hold a forum sections for Pharos
Still, I would like to know if there are any plans to create a Pahros section? Personally I think it is a good thing to have a complete line-up.
the Pharos has the same chipset as the elfin... but still i wouldnt trust the Elfin roms on my p3470 as there are some differences... like no wifi (who would use that anyway) and no 3g (most 3g connections in holland are capped to 2 times isdn )
the pharos is sleek and practical better looking than the elfin and many others (even better looking than the cruise...which has a redundant triangle thingy hanging under it) only the diamond has better design imho
comon with the subforum pls!

Wow, you really are going for some older hardware there! In fact, it may be difficult to find new Wizards and Prophets!
If you want to save money, you are probably going to be better off at this point going with a Hermes or a Kaiser. I can personally recommend the Hermes as I have had one, but I know lots of Kaiser owners out there who love their machines too. Both are well-rounded machines with loads of functionality. I haven't looked lately, but I bet you could get a new Hermes for around US$300 if you shopped around a little. Kaisers will probably be a bit more.
If you are looking for something smaller and don't need the keyboard, you can probably find a good deal on an Elf.
All three of these models were very popular, but have pretty much run their course. No doubt some merchants who have over-bought these models are trying to get rid of them before they become completely obsolete.
Well that depends on what are your needs form a PPC
Look here and compare: http://pdadb.net/
been a wizard users for the past 3 months, have to say its a nice phone, havent tried the Prophet (yet )
as said above, try to compare both of the phones
edit : saw that ur from pakistan , nice to see ya, im from karachi though..but currently in Bahrain
I just upgraded from a Prodigy/Wizard to a Kaiser/TyTN II. It's a huge step up. I'd recommend a Hermes/TyTN or a Kaiser/TyTN II over a Prodigy/Wizard.
I tried several WM 6.1 ROMs on my Wizard, but development on each halted.

I live in Pakistan, there are alot of Wizards available and I can get a second-hand wizard in good condition for $90-100. Ive checked on Hermes, It is available for almost $270-290 (second-hand)
Im giving prices as I want to get maximum out of my savings (same old problem with students!)
I tried e-bay but no one out there seem to ship it to my country

The Kaiser/TyTN II is the only one with an official WM 6.1 upgrade. Both the Prodigy/Wizard and the Hermes/TyTN have unofficial WM 6.1 ROMs (made by the cookers here at XDA). Most of the unofficial WM 6.1 ROMs for the Wizard have been abandoned by their cookers.
the kjam is the Wizard, the Jamin is the Prophet

i would angree with that, have you taken a look in the wizards section?, a new ROM releases every day, esp the TouchHD CRS Series
thats why im taking ur expert opinion that which ppc should I buy
just weigh all the pros and cons and gimme a suggestion - ill go for it!
i have a hermes with t-mobile 6.1 ROM. Its a very good allrounder. Decent performance.
I just upgraded to a Kaiser and ams o far very impressed. Big step up in general performance over the hermes. A lot more responsive.
But a good deal more expensive too.
if you can stretcht to a Kaiser i'd get that. otherwise the Hermes is a very capable device.
ELFin
This week a pal bought a Mint ELFin for US$350.00 shipping included via Ebay. I've owned many smartphone and some touch phones...as I keep saying...the EFLin to today is my favorite. Why? Small, with a pcm keyboard, Manila, and a few other goodies, it will give a run to any phone out there on the market.

Help, lost in space.... :-( Imate JasJar

Hello people,
sorry for a typical bad/generic question, but i'm really lost on quantity of informations on internet about WM and HTC and UNIVERSAL and as "casual" user (my jasjar in ON now after months of non-use) I'm not sure what keywords to use to filter the results.
Question is: i have this old PDA, the i-mate JasJar, with the standard WM5 5.1.195 build 14847.2.0.0 Italian: how can i update with something nice (maybe WM6? is stable?) to make it a little more current? Alternative roms are stable enough or there is always the risk to transform the pda in a brick? Which one should I use, between the tide of endless versions?
Thanks very much.

Welcome to the forum
You have actually one of the best devices HTC has made to date, could be old but it´s a solid rock!
Please READ here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Universal
You´ll find all you need to upgrade your ROM to the newest version
If you follow the instructions you won´t brick your Uni
I recommend Tomal 6.1 ROM´s
Also enter to Universal section for more info
Good luck,
tu podrias hacer buenos comerciales paisa, nice comercial paisa!
Jejeje solid as a Rock!

Thank you all for the reply and for the advice about what rom to install. I'm reading the very nice wiki. Just 1 question: reflashing roms change the language? Thanks!
Agreed!
I'm also using Jasjar since last 3 years, and yet don't feel to replace it with anything new, even though memory and space is always an issue with the new upgrades..!
I' m using Tomal's ROM in 6.1..good one! But if you are looking for an Italian ROM I think Lucas has it.
in 6.0, I would vote for JWRight
