Hi,
first off, pls don't bit my head off, as I have already i've search the forums and googled; found a couple apps here and there but nothing fits exactly my need.
Just would like to ask, what clock software you are using for your device? My device is a o2 zinc and i've been using chronos for quite sometime now but Im having probelms lately. i've tried the default alarms but i'm having intermittent problems too; sometimes it works, sometime it does not
Basically, my needs for the clock software is, it has to have a "Every half an hour" chime and scheduled restart capability, and off course a good old realiable alarm for wakeup(nothing fancy, just the rooster.wav will do ). Many thanks in advance...

Im very sorry if this is in the wrong place. I have checked for a help section, but could not find one. Also there is no specific topic for my phone located on the main board.
Ok. I have recently purchased an 02 xda orbit. It has windows mobile 6.0 professional on it. Its fine, except unlike windows mobile 5.0 which i had on my old phone, it dosent seem to have a task mannager or 'the big clock' and weather options. Does wm6 come like that? Or is it because i seem to have an 02 plug-in pre installed? Is it blocking the big clock thing from starting?
I know i can download the htc plug-in to get the big clock back, it works and looks nice but i feel it slows things down. And i expect it to come as standard really..
I hear and see that wm6.1 seems to have fixxed these problems. If so, how would i go about getting that on my phone?
Thankyou very much for any professional help i may recieve.
Lee.

Thanks for the link. Still a little confused tho.
Im not sure how i would download and install this. Im new to installing roms and flashing etc.
There seems to be some debate to weather or not this is an english OS?
And is this 100% definately the rom/version i need for 02 ORBIT XDA?
Thanks.
i dont own an Artemis which is the htc name for your device
so you're better off asking your question in the forum where the thread

Hi, I have a HTC Touch 3G, aka HTC Jade running WM6.1.
I am running Tomtom Navigator 7.9 which works fine.
I always like to set my clocks a few minutes faster than the official time (as a habit to stop me running late...)
However every time I use Tomtom, it acquires the GPS official time, and resets my HTC's system time without asking! It's quite annoying for me. Is there any way I can avoid this? Apart from manually changing the time every time after I've used TomTom?
as a fix, can I run some sort of auto script so I can run a shortcut to make system clock go forward by 5 minutes?
any suggestions would be great. thanks!
how about configuring your brain to think your a couple minutes ahead?

Hmmmm,
Even if u don't like his answer, u'll have to live with it... u can't stop TT from resetting ur clock. Navigation is all about timing. If u have ur clock ahead, u can't get a fix cos TT will see the signal from the GPS as 'too late' and ignore them.

wow! if you cant take a joke (and quite a funny one as well) maybe interweb forums are not the place for you?
here you go my friend
TomTom resetting my clock! HTC - Touch HD
I notice from other people's comments that this may not be a possibility but I am in the UK and therefore in BST, now, when I load TomTom it sets my clock back one hour... this is not something that I can make my brain tell me it's an hour difference - especially when doing a several hour trip and I feel like i'm an hour late! any ideas?

Hi!
I'm looking for a program that basically vibrate my phone when I get a SMS from sender X (not from Y or anyone else). But also vibrate the phone until I read the SMS.
I have been googling my ass off to find a program that will allow this but can't find any. So I gave up and decided that I will try to do it myself.
I have done some intermediate coding in VB6/VB.Net, more than basic C++ and very basic Java. Never coded anything to mobilephones.
Is this possible to do? If so, how hard? Do you think I will be able to do it?
The program should work on HTC S740 (WM6 Standard)
this is pretty basic and if you follow this forum for info you will be able to do it.
you can also base your work (and maybe add to) "MissedCallReminder" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=441593)... ask for the developer's help maybe..
vibrate use a lot of power
if you forgot or left it somewhere
your phone's batt would be flat in no time

Sounds good. But what do you mean that I can base my work on that since it's not open source? Or is it?
But MissedCallReminder seems good, just need some tweaking

that's exactly what i meant. tweaking, not rewriting.
i'm using missedcallreminder and it's wonderful.
I was poking around the phone today and I think I found an app' that really doesn't need to run at all times and probably doesn't need to be installed on the phone.
I noticed Adobe, which in the PC world has it's own "auto updater" ["AIR", IIRC] and I noticed HTC has their own little "widget" installed - Tell HTC.
Has anyone else notice this before?
For the guys who haven't seen it,it's in Settings/About Phone/Tell HTC.
Try turning that widget off and let me know if you see a difference.
I sure did.
My apologies if this was covered before....I'm new here and it's late.
what type of difference? i don't see this app/program running in my task manager. the only time i have seen it come up was when the phone crashed and i got a screen prompt that said "notify htc about unexpected shutdown with Tell HTC".

The Adobe reader app updates through the market so it is the market that checks every so often or when you go to it not like on a pc where it is the program that checks.
The Tell Htc widget/app is to report system errors to Htc, so it wont really make any difference. The only difference you will see if it is turned off is that when you have a system crash the pop-up asking if can send the crash info to Htc wont happen any more and no info will be sent.

I noticed the screen was much more responsive to touch gestures.
I didn't take notice of any change in memory usage.
I guess I'll have to look at a few more things.

Thanks for clarifying that so I don't need to hunt through menus and menus looking for it.
Probably a total placebo effect, but I feel like things are a little snappier? I'll keep an eye on the screen responsiveness as I go through this power cycle and will report back with some thoroughly unscientific results.
that is good trick. I also don't like the "show me" which is part of sync.
Don't know how to uncheck it.
this makes my phone no faster or snapier than what it is

You need to keep that enabled to use the Market, unless you want to enable it every time you do.

Good to know, but I put that one up there with spyware.
I'll turn it on if I ever need it.
Yup, this definitely speeds your phone up. It worked for me by making everything more responsive. I thought everyone already knew about this. Its not placebo. Its legit.

Thanks my screen is wicked fast.
Just to follow up from my post earlier today with a quick, anecdotal report:
I disabled the HTC reporting as suggested by the OP around noon today, while I was at ~80% charge. It's about 9 hours later after moderate to heavy use today, and at ~15% charge my screen still has yet to lag out on me during unlocking or swiping between screens.
For reference, I would usually notice little stutters throughout the day, and especially more so once my battery dropped below the 25% threshold.
No idea why something as seemingly innocuous as error reporting would have such a marked effect, but that is honestly the only variable that I can recall changing all day today.
The responses in this thread seem like a mixed bag of results, but hopefully these good results continue for me and some lucky others!
just disable "show me" with fre3vo way better than to turn off background data..
Glad it helped some people.
Hi, I am new on forum and on Nexus S, but not with ROMS
I love this phone, but since I bought it, I have a strange bug. Maybe it appears because I did with "rom toolbox pro" a full backup of apps on another smartphone (acer liquid metal) and now I restored all apps on Nexus S.
this is the bug: sometimes (normally when I'm writing a message, or simply using virtual keyboard) it appear the "open as..." window, where I can choose to open it with gosms pro or gmail.
I tried to open it with both programs, and after this window, on gosmspro the text message is about the bug report, with 2 attached files: 1 .txt files with description of bug (but it's too long, approx 4 mb of .txt!!!) and 2 a .jpg screenshot of bug (but in the image there is simply the lock screen).
In gmail it appears the same thing. But I can't understand where is the problem or where the bug starts, so I ask you how can I find it.
I tried also to uninstall some apps (like gosms, also deleting app data) but without progresses.
If you like it, i can post the screenshot of the bug, or also the .txt or .jpg files in the bug report.
Now I'm using the CM10 , and I had the same problem with Skank ROM.
Please help me, I never found an answer on the web to this tiresome bug. : /
thanks guys and thanks for your BIG work !!!

Yes good idea but I would found another road first to do that: I' ll lose at least 2 hours re-installing everything.....
oh, another problem doing manual installations: all saves will be lost! so I prefer to show you .txt files for now....I think you ' ll understand

Absolutely. But from experience, it's a good idea to wipe clean once in a while. I usually do it every few months to keep the problems at bay. Sometimes you'll spend more time trying to fix an issue than it would take you to restart from anew, and even if you end up fixing it that's only an issue you see. You aren't fixing udnerlying problems...
So does anything actually crash or is it just this that pops up?

uhm, at the beginning i had 5-6 crashes, but I'm sure that it was linked to the overclock. In fact, when I put 1200 mhz, I was a noobie in that (because I came from smartphones that NEED overclock to have a fluid and rapid system), and when I reset it to 1000 mhz, it never did me another crash no more.
So yes, the bug is only this popup. I know isn't a little bug, but with the passing of times, it appears more and more times, so it's tiresome.
ah, few seconds before bug, the phone vibrate 3 times (everytime).
I'm using a plastic gel cover.
ah, another little thing that I hear yesterday for the first time: the front speaker at the top, sometimes (also 2-3 times in a minute, don' t know if it do that always, as in lock screen) do a very low sound repeated for few seconds (it's hard to explain this, it seems a radio frequency as "toctoctoctoctoc")...sorry for this onomatopea but maybe its' helpful for understanding what I mean
...any news from the .txt that I sent you ?
Take off your case for a whole day, don't put it on your phone. Tell me if it still happens during that day.
I can nearly assure you, up to 99.9%, that your problem will stop.
I know it sounds crazy, but do it. You can thank me later.

Incredible!!
my last smartphone had similar problem (microphone of acer liquid metal won' t work well with case)!!
but now the case seems to create a worst problem!! I can' t believe that this simple accessories can made theese problems ( considering that technology should give us better phones in every kind of way)....

I hope that case was problem for bug and also crashes!!

Tell me if the bugmailer problem seems fixed after using it for a while.
Edit: I don't believe the crashes are related however. I'll tell you the magic behind the bug mailer after you tell me if it's fixed!
ok I'll say you in 2 days!
however, for crashes, I think I did a bull**** using a bad app called "cache fixer", because I used to free memory with my old phone.
If I see crashes again, I' ll wipe the phone.
OMG!!! you seems to have reason (fortunately) !!!
I'm nearly sure to have fixed this, now I wanna know the magic trick!!
How a technologic phone can be shocked by a simple plastic gel ?!?!
I guess that answer it's or the semi-pressure of volume/on-off buttons, or somethink linked to the temprature (with cover it increases). Right ?
Other things: for now, no other crashes, but the strange silent rumor on the top of the headspeaker sometimes appears. Can the phone record this low sound on the top? So you ' ll understand what I mean...
for now... thanks!!

Your phone case presses on VOL +, VOL - and POWER all at the same time. That's a developper feature.
You can "disable" it by turning off USB debug but I highly suggest either fixing your case if possible or getting another one that doesn't press those buttons for no reason.
Edit: I have no idea what you are talking about for the other issue though.
