Active Sync and deleted items - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hello,
I have a question about active sync in general,so not about a specific ROM.
When i delete an items from my TP, i need to click on send/receive to delete this mail also from my exchange server.
Is this normal,i suppose this would be done automatically if you are connected to active sync and 3G.
And when i delete a mail from i.e. webmail,it's not deleted on my TP,i have to delete the mail manually.
Please let me know how Active Sync works for you.
Ciao

Remove email off phone after sync

Hi all. Apologies for this post, it should be such a simple thing.
When I activesync my HTC Touch HD / Blackstone to my PC, I'd like all the emails synced and then removed from the phone. Does anyone know which setting this is? I can't find it on activsync or in the email settings. I have yahoo and they were on that account on my mobile while i was away. i've just added mail to the list of things to sync and the emails have left the yahoo folder, gone into outlook on the pc, then outlook has been added to my mobile as an account and all the message have been copied to there.
What i'd like is to have 2 folders - yahoo & hotmail - with emails to be dumped onto their respective account folders when i sync with outlook on my pc. Any tips on how I set this up?
Thanks in advance.

Something you might want to try is if Yahoo or Hotmail support IMAP. That way, when you change an email on device, it affects the server copy too.
Outlook on desktops has support for rules, which may be of use for you. (I think google is more likely to be helpful than I am!) I know from personal use that rules can delete duplicate emails, and move emails around...
for info of anyone reading - IMPA was the way. I wassn't sure what imap was, but basically it maps to the server store rather than downloading stuff, so the messages dissapear from the phone once you download them from the server to your computer.

need help (import/export) contact

can someone tell me how to import / export contact from my HTC Touch Pro into my desktop?? or how to save this contact into a file that i can re-open or re-load after i upgrade my ROM??? since after upgrade ROM the contact and everything will be gone...
or can someone tell me which folder in the HTC Touch pro that contain all contact??
thank you
Use google Sync!! It will sync up your contacts AND your calendar!
just open up Activesync, goto "Add server source" from the menu, for the username, use your full username including @gmail.com, make sure use SSL is turned on, the domain is m.google.com
only sync the contacts and calendar ( I *think* they will be adding tasks to the list of syncable items soon)
Enjoy! I have had to do many hardresets since i got this phone, google sync even restores picture ID's!
You can then access and export your contacts from www.google.com/contacts if you want to
or you could always just sync with microsoft outlook.. or any other exchange server..
i'll try the google thing... =)
and
i tried to use microsoft outlook but it won't let me.. don't know why... can you help me with that??? sorry i'm just a noob.. =)
thank you

Syncs the data with your google/gmail accounts.
You can use PIM backup to simply save your contact info, no need for a pc at all!

I found a simple solution... Flash your device. Sync with MyPhone. Delete Outlook personal folders file and create a new, empty one (easy way to just delete everything from Outlook). Then set up sync between device and Outlook, voila - all your data goes first from MyPhone to device, then from device to Outlook.

Create new Contacts folder
The syncronization between WinMo with Outlook via Activesync regarding the contacts is done using the default Outlook contacts folder. So, what I use to do is to create another contacts folder and move there as many contacts as I want not meant to be sync'd. This way, I achive what I want, and keep intact all the remaining contacts, which you can move back and forth as you please, any time.
However, my understanding of "syncronization" is not all these tricks (I know that sometimes there is no other way) but a single utility that syncs, echoes, replicates or whatsoever. From this point of view, I would like to reiterate the original question: Is there "something" to sync My Phone with Outlook?
Thanks.
FWIW i have the same issue with my Xperia connected toOutlook and a mail2web Exchange account. The only commonality is my Xperia in the middle and the only working solution has been to clear out the Outlook Calendar and Contacts before resynching, after allowing time for the OTA Exchange to finish.

Changing .pst folder used to sync

Hi
How do I change which of my outlook folders activesync uses with my phone?
My problem:
I recently obtained an exchange email address from work and have set up both my computer and phone to activesync with it. Prior to this I had an outlook folder that had all my contacts and notes which I want to keep. When I set up the account my company required me to use a setup file which removed all my outlook folders, which I then manually re-added.
I want to set up my phone so that it syncs email and calendars with work, and notes and contacts with my old outlook folder when connected to my computer at home.
Unfortunately activesync insists on syncing my contacts with my exchange account folder rather than my old folder.
I tried changing my default folder but I'm not sure how to do this without delivering all my exchange email to my old personal email - which as far as I can work out will result in either all my old email being deleted or all my personal email being copied to the work server (I dare not try and find out which).
Anyone have any suggestions?

[Q] Sync Outlook Email on Android (through USB, not Exchange)

I don't have Exchange, I just use Outlook at home with my POP3 account, is there any software I can use to Sync my Outlook emails to my phone (Android 2.2), just through USB sync? I can't find any.
I've got my contacts & calendar sync'ing fine, through HTC sync software.
This is so frustrating not having emails on my phone, I'm almost thinking of installing hMailServer onto my WHS box..
Appreciate the feedback.
HTC Desire HD.
configure your outlook to leave copy of messages on the server and add the same account to your phone using IMAP (or if you do not have IMAP access, set it as POP3 and also leave messages on the server)
I would have replied the same as the previous poster but maybe OP doesn't have a data plan?
Sent from my Vision using XDA App
That won't really sync with my outlook though, it's just checking the emails remotely, which I have been doing. I file all of my emails that I want to keep from my inbox into sub-folders, so I really need to sync my phone with Outlook.
Anyone else have some options before I start looking at setting up an SMTP server? Surely there's got to be something that will sync Outlook emails?
I was very surprised that the HTC sync software didn't do it!
I'm assuming by the lack of responce my only option is to setup a SMTP server..
I did find one cleaver idea, but isn't suitable for me, posting if anyone else is searching for a solution:
- Use Gmail (or similar) to pick up your email from your pop account
- Sync Outlook & phone with Gmail
The issue I have with this one is I use multiple domain names that I need to email out from..

This is the best method. You can actually pull multiple accounts into GMail (up to 5, I believe), and then you can also set Gmail up so that you can send as one of those accounts. The latest version of Gmail for Android lets you choose which account you then want to use - right there on your phone.
